Draco knew what he had to do and it wasn’t going to be hard pretending to want the mudblood…Hermione. He wanted her and had since t hat night. No, what he had to do was get her out of his system. He may not have believed in the same things his father had, but one thing stuck, purebloods were the higher social class. They were better, and even more powerful. His mother had even believed it.

When he tried thinking of a reason for him doing what he had offered, he couldn’t think of a single one. It annoyed him but at the same time, it gave him just a small amount of comfort, knowing that at least for a few weeks, someone was going to warm his bed. And that someone would keep the nightmares away.

He refused to let his thoughts wander to that point as he walked the streets towards Hermione’s apartment. If things worked out…she’d be wearing the black outfit. Draco grinned, lighting a cigarette he took a long drag.

“You do know that nicotine decreases your sex drive, right?” Hermione said, walking down the steps from her front food. Draco turned to her, taking another long drag.

“Haven’t heard you complain about my drive.” Draco looked Hermione up and down appreciatively before flicking his cigarette to the ground, extinguishing it with his heel, “Looks good.”

Her eyes widened a bit as she looked down at her body. Draco thought she looked good.

“Don’t take anything from it, Granger. I don’t mean anything by it.” Draco added. Her small smile disappeared.

“I wasn’t expecting anything.” She stood ground level with him, meeting his gaze. “We’re going so I can meet Ron, if he tries anything then you come to be an asshole to him, understood?” Draco stared down at her a moment, then nodded, taking her hand he pulled her close, wrapping his arm around her shoulders.

They walked with one another, Draco’s arm around her shoulders tightened as they walked into a heavy crowd. Hermione looked around the crowd cautiously, wondering how many of these people were doing the same thing she and Draco had. Becoming part of the muggle world had been easy for her, because she was born in this world, but she knew that it was harder on other people, like Draco. Looking up in his direction she licked her lips as she felt them become dry. It was hard to imagine Draco so deeply immersed into the muggle world, but he had done it. Hermione winced as an elbow slammed into her side, she sucked a deep breath in.

“What’s wrong?” Draco asked, his eyes meeting hers.

“Nothing. Just got hit in the side is all, an accident.” She assured him. They made it to an empty area and Draco pulled a small trinket from his pocket. Hermione raised a brow and looked up at him. “How’d you get one of those?” She murmured, staring down at the small toy.

“It’s only a portkey, Luv. Nothing too interesting about it.” Hermione shook her head as she looked up at him, taking his empty hand.

“I mean the toy car Draco. It’s a collectors.” He looked at her in disbelief.

“You’re joking.”

“No, I’m not.” Hermione sighed. “Muggles tend to collect some of the silliest things but my Father used to collect those, and I know it’s a collectors because I’ve been trying to find it for him. Sorry.” She stopped. “You ready to go?” Draco watched her for a moment as he reached for her hand, making both of them touch it. Hermione felt the familiar pull of the portkey transporting them and sighed as it made her a little sick to her stomach.

They arrived in Diagon Alley seconds later. Draco raised his brows and looked around before letting go of Hermione’s hand.

“Tell me again why you choose to meet Weasel in the most obvious of places.” He sighed, “Seriously, you and Weasel don’t show the smarts that both of you excelled in showing during our seventh year.” He crossed his arms over his chest as he noticed the small shops that he recalled shopping with his family in during his years at Hogwarts.

“It’s not obvious…” Hermione murmured as she grabbed Draco’s hand and pulled him with her as they walked into one of the small corners of Diagon Alley to what looked like a dead end with a wall facing them. Draco raised a brow and went to open his mouth before Hermione pulled him through the wall.

Draco shook his head as he recovered from the sudden feeling of being pulled through a portal. Rubbing his eyes a moment, he looked around slowly noticing that it looked much like a hang out at a muggle college. He’d been to them before, seeing a few women here and there while staying in their dorms for the night. There were sofas and huge beanbag chairs that were around the room. It was dark and there were sheer curtains surronding areas for privacy. Draco smirked a bit, “Maybe I should own a place like this…” He murmured.

“I thought you would’ve already opened one. It’s been open for a couple years now.” Draco glanced down at Hermione, who was crossing her arms over her chest. “He should be here soon, why don’t you get a drink or something, I’ll be over there.” She pointed towards a secluded area with a longer sofa and pillows all around it.

“It figures.” Draco mumbled. Hermione turned up to him, letting her hands drop.

“What?”

“I said it figures that you’d meet Weasel here.” Draco told her, pushing her hand away from him as she laid it on his shoulder. Hermione looked down a moment and moving away from Draco she made her way towards the area that she had pointed out. Pushing her hair away from her face she sat down and pulled her legs up against her body.

It would only be a little while before Ron would show up and she knew it because he was always late and he always made her wait for him. It annoyed her so much to have to wait for him and he never apologized for it. He simply waited for her to just forgive him and then give him what he wanted.

And she’d done it.

Closing her eyes she kept herself from looking in Draco’s direction. When Ron showed up she didn’t want to make him immediately see Draco without being able to tell him what she felt. She had to tell Ron what she wanted, and that was to end things between them. Resting her head on her hand she felt herself smile a little as she remembered the feeling she had while Draco had been inside of her.

It felt right, almost complete.

“Hey, ’Mione,” Ron said, breaking up her thoughts. Hermione shook her head as she looked up, pushing her hair back.

“Ron.” She started, caught off guard. “Hi. When did you get here?”

“A few minutes ago. It took me a minute to find you, and I wanted to buy you this…” He pulled out a bottle of wine, handing it to her as he sat down close to her, wrapping his arm around her waist. Hermione tensed, he frowned. “What is it?”

“Ron, there’s something I need to tell you.”

“Can’t it wait? I haven’t seen you in so long, I’ve missed you.” He leaned in, his lips grazing against her neck as Hermione turned away from him. She felt nothing.

“Ron, stop it.” She demanded, pushing him away. “Look, we have to talk.” Ron sighed, his hand moving away from her waist, but he placed it on her thigh, gently squeezing it. Hermione closed her eyes, and then met Ron’s gaze. “Ron, this has to stop.”

“What are you talking about? We haven’t started anything…” Hermione grabbed Ron’s hand, forcing it away from his thigh.

“No. You and me, it has to stop.” Ron looked at her, confused as he looked from the bottle of wine back to Hermione and then back to the wine.

“You can’t be serious.” Ron started, he looked to her, taking Hermione’s hands he looked into her eyes, kissing her knuckles gently. “You don’t want to end things, ‘Mione, I know you don’t.” He started.

“I’m afraid she does.” A voice cut in.

Ron turned up to meet the owner of the voice’s eyes and his own widened and his jaw set as he stood up, pushing Hermione’s hands away from his own and stepping over her own feet, stepping up to the interrupter.

“What the bloody hell are you doing here Malfoy?” He sneered. Draco smirked slowly, holding up his glass, which held a clear liquid.

“Getting a glass of water, Weasel, not that I have to keep you informed of my day to day activities.” Draco retorted. He took a drink of it, holding the glass in his hand as he crossed his arms.

“Get out of here.” Ron growled. “There’s no reason for you to be here. Hermione and I are just spending some time together – not that it’s any of your business.”

“Actually,” Draco grinned, “It is. See, you’re interrupting part of my daily activities.” Draco added as he looked towards Hermione, her eyes wide. Ron looked in the direction Draco was and noticed the look he was giving her. Ron glared.

“What the hell could you possibly be talking about? Hermione? Here with you?” Ron laughed a little, “That’s hilarious Malfoy. You actually think that Hermione would even want you near her?” Ron demanded.

“She wasn’t complaining this morning.” Draco stated, meeting Ron’s eyes.

“You’re lying.”

“No, actually I’m not. You see Weasel, that’s what Hermione was trying to tell you when you cut her off and put your hands all over her. She found a real man, and no longer a has a use for you.” Draco smirked, “And I’d appreciate it if you kept your damn hands off my girlfriend.” He growled, stepping up towards Ron, their faces just inches from one another.

Ron shook his head, looking back towards Hermione, waiting for her to tell him that it wasn’t true. When he didn’t get it, he pushed Draco back.

“You’re a bloody liar, and I’m going to make sure you keep your mouth shut!” He screamed, pulling his wand out. “Stupef-”

“Expelliarmus.” Draco cut Ron off, making his wand fly out of his hand. Draco backed him up into a corner, pointing his wand towards Ron’s throat, much how Hermione had during their third year. Draco grinned, “Make me do it Weasel.”

“W-hat?” Ron croaked. Draco sneered as he looked into Ron’s eyes, nothing but fear staring through Ron’s eyes as Draco stared him down.

“Make me do it Weasel. God knows I’ve been wanting to for years.” He smirked, “Let me use one of the Unforgivable spells on you…” Ron whimpered a bit as Draco stared at him. Hermione stood up quickly, moving towards Draco she wrapped an arm around him and touched her hand to his wrist.

“Draco. Please, don’t do this.” She murmured. Ron looked to her, his mouth contorting into a sneer as he glared at her.

“Hermione, you don’t know what you’re doing. You wouldn’t do something like this, you’ve become nothing but a slut if you’re screwing Draco Malfoy. Nothing but his stupid little slut that he’ll throw away.” He growled. Draco pressed the tip of his wand into Ron’s throat.

“I highly suggest you shut up Weasel, especially if you am to keep that mouth of yours. Shut it or you’ll be experiencing what all your little friends did, remember your little friend Neville?” Draco smirked and looked down to Ron. “He went through what you will, that is, if you don’t shut your mouth.”

“You bring up Neville, but at least he died for a cause.” Ron growled, “Unlike that whore of your mother.” Draco’s jaw locked. He had heard enough, and he didn’t care what the hell it was going to take, his eyes iced over as he pulled his wand away just enough to make the spell work and slowly he began to murmur the one spell that he remembered being taught…

“Cruci-”

Hermione pulled Draco towards her, crushing her lips against his. Pulling him close to her and wrapping her arms around him, her tongue slid into his mouth as her fingers wove through his hair and his arm wrapped around her tightly, his wand still pointed at Ron.

Ron, stood there, watching as Hermione kissed Draco in front of him.

And the hatred for Draco Malfoy grew, but this time, it included Hermione.
