The Eight Legged Spanner in the works

DISCLAIMER: NONE OF THIS BELONGS TO ME. I JUST CREATED THE PLOT!

Severus reluctantly looked up to see Lucius Malfoy standing over him, a sneer playing on his lips. For a man that had just escaped Azkaban, he looked unusually healthy and well dressed in his expensive black dress robes, with his infamous cane in his left hand.

“Maybe my sources were poor,” Snape sneered, “But I was told you were in Azkaban.” Lucius smirked and sat down in a large chair that faced the fireplace. He reached into his pocket, producing a small silver hipflask, which he held against his lips. After taking a gulp he smiled at Snape.

“Forgive me, but as I remember, your whiskey tasted like antifreeze,” he smirked, “And as for Azkaban, lets just say that getting out of there is worryingly easy when you are blessed with gifts such as mine.”

“Money can’t buy Dementors,” Snape replied, watching him closely.

“Who said anything about money? I picked up some very good tricks from Mr. Black,” Lucius drawled, before suddenly transforming into a large silver spider. Snape cursed under his breath and rolled his eyes.

“The number of unregistered animagi is now beginning to become worrying,” he said, attempting to sound calm but unable to disguise the fear in his voice. Snape had never been fond of spiders, and Lucius’s animagus was not an attractive sight. Its eight large eyes were silvery grey, and were watching Snape intently. Slowly, it began to scuttle towards him, causing Snape to sit up quickly. When it reached his foot, Snape suddenly became aware of Lucius’s soft and malicious laughter, and the spider changed back into a man. Snape let out an audible sigh of relief and rested his head back on the fireplace. Lucius stood up and brushed himself down before speaking.

“I must say Snape, when I first heard of your traitorous actions, I desired to perform the killing curse on you myself,” Lucius hissed, “However, I have thought of a way that you can buy your survival.” Severus looked up and eyed Lucius suspiciously,

“What do you want? Voldemort isn’t going to come back Lucius, so you might as well leave the country and enjoy your retirement,” Severus laughed coldly. Lucius produced his wand lazily from his cane and held it up at Severus.

“I have decided that you did not wrong me, merely the Dark Lord, and as you know, I desired my own personal gain far more than his success. Because of this, I have lost interest in killing you,” Lucius levelled his wand at Snape, “However, there is someone that I do want to speak with.” Snape had guessed who it was before Lucius said it,

“I cannot gain you access to Miss Granger,” he said, his face devoid of emotion. Lucius laughed softly,

“I am aware that you protected her from Bellatrix and MacNair whilst in Vienna,\" Lucius said, \"At the time, that angered me, i wanted them to exact revenge. However, i now realise that you did me a favour, as i can now exact my own revenge, personally.\" He leered at Snape, who shook his head.

\"I cannot get you close to her, she is too well protected,\" Snape replied, attempting to appear casual and unconcerned about Hermione.

\"I think you can, as I am fully aware of her new teaching position at Hogwarts, which begins in September.” Lucius narrowed his eyes at Snape, “I am prepared to wait two weeks, but when you go back to that school, I want you to present her to me on a silver fucking platter!” Lucius’s voice grew louder with anger as he said the last three words, and a red sparks shot out of his wand, barely missing Snape’s head.

“Lucius, if you leave the country now, you can buy your life back. You will be able to live in peace,” Snape drawled, “However, if you kill her, you will be back in Azkaban, awaiting the dementor’s kiss.” Lucius appeared to shiver involuntarily before regaining control of himself.

“She broke your heart Snape, don’t you want me to break her spirit?” Lucius said softly, “Imagine it, she would be screaming your name. And the wolf, the Lycothrope, he would never get over her death. Two birds with one stone.” Snape looked up. Lucius’s suggestion was mildly appealing.

“I won’t do this Lucius,” he said, but his voice wasn’t quite as certain as it had been. Lucius heard the waver in his tone and smiled.

“You may be reluctant to help now, but what about when you are at Hogwarts, and she is kissing Lupin? Or when he is pressing himself against her in dark hallways?” Lucius crawled next to Snape and bent down to whisper in his ear, “When he is fucking her?” Snape growled and pulled out his wand, holding it to Lucius’s throat.

“Leave Lucius,” he whispered, his voice had a deadly tenor, “Before I kill you myself.”
