Ginny
~~~~~
The Gryffindor common room was almost exactly as how I\'d last seen it. The majority of the chairs were still gathered near the fireplace, the same worn rug covered the floor. There were even games of Wizard\'s Chess half-finished on the tables, as though the students had left them forgotten at the start of the summer hols. I immediately immersed myself in the familiar comforts. It was almost better than going back to the Burrow. Thinking of the Burrow, I wondered whether or not Mum\'s clock would say we were at \'school\'. The thought made me smile.
Hermione and I ventured upstairs, to the girl\'s dormitories. We headed to the 7th year room, as it was the \'nicest\' of the dormitories. Once inside, I instinctively chose the bed where I\'d slept during my 7th year. Farthest away from the entrance, and closest to a large window, complete with window seat, and drapes that one could close around oneself while reading. Something I once did often on rainy days.
Hermione chose the bed next to me, enlarged her trunk back to its regular size, and pushed it to the foot of her bed. She looked at me, a bit apprehensively.
\"It\'s odd to be staying here again, Gin. Especially since the couples have been split up between the boys\' and girls\' dorms.\"
She was referring to my brother George.
\"Yeah. I can understand how that might feel a bit strange.\" I told her.
I glanced over and noticed that the trunk she had brought her belongings in was the same trunk she\'d had at school. There was even a Gilderoy Lockhart sticker peering at us from one side of the trunk. It had been charmed to keep repairing itself whenever someone tried to remove it. In typical Lockhart fashion, he flashed me a devious smile, then ducked out of view.
\"I\'m going to go see if I can get a mug of hot chocolate...would you like to join me?\" Hermione asked.
\"No, I\'m okay. I\'m just going to unpack a little, I\'ll be down later.\" I flashed her a somewhat sincere smile, and hoped she would leave it at that.
\"Okay...\" she trailed off. She shot me what seemed to be a worried look, and added before departing, “Make sure you keep drinking plenty of fluids, you were pretty dehydrated earlier.”
I sighed heavily once she was out of earshot. I opened one of the wardrobes, and began to put my clothing away. I no longer wore the typical robes of the wizarding community, but stuck soley with \'muggle\' clothing. I had a bit of a penchant for designer clothes, vintage, and \'unique\' items that I made myself...by modifying thrift store finds. Shoes were my weakness, of course. I finished putting the majority of my clothing away, then moved on to my camera equipment. I stashed most of my lenses, my tripod, a couple flashes, et cetera on the high shelf in the wardrobe, then closed the doors tight.
I grabbed one of the paperbacks I had packed. I had probably packed it instinctively, hoping I\'d have a chance to be alone with my beloved window seat. James Joyce, \'Dubliners\'. One I\'d read before, hadn\'t thought about it while randomly grabbing books off the shelves.
I made my way to the window seat, adjusted a few of the throw pillows, and curled up. I pulled the heavy, red, velvet drapes around me, blocking out the inside of the castle. Outside, I could see a few scattered dots of light…people making their way around the grounds. I picked up the book and began to read. I\'m not sure when I fell asleep...
Ginny hadn\'t come downstairs yet. I was starting to worry slightly. Hermione has whispered to me on her way out that something \'wasn\'t right’ with Ginny, but she couldn\'t quite ‘put her finger on it\'. At first I had attributed it to Hermione being, well, Hermione. Now however, I had a sick feeling in my stomach that something was wrong. Was she sick again?
I decided to take my chances and venture up to the girls\' dormitories. As I began to climb the spiraling staircase I noted that Dumbledore must have taken off the wards typically in place, to \'discourage\' male visitors. I silently thanked him for that fact.
As I neared closer to the 7th year dorm I could hear sounds...someone...moaning? Injured moaning, that much I knew. A female. It had to be Ginny!
I grabbed my wand out of the pocket of my robes and dashed up the remaining stairs. Not even bothering to remain quiet.
When I reached the top of the stairs, I was panting. I decided to open the door as quietly as possible, in hopes to catch whomever else was inside, off guard. I opened it slowly, and peered through the crack. There was no one there. Confused, I opened the door the rest of the way and crept silently across the room. About halfway across I heard the moans again.
\"No...no please...help...no!\"
They were frantic and coming from the corner of the room.
