Chapter Six

Hello all! Thanks once again for all the reviews. I love it! You make my day!
Well, this chapter is mostly just talk, getting to know each other and all. I know lots of you are anxious to get to the smut, and I am almost certain that it will happen next chappie. So hang in there a bit, it will happen soon. Until then, enjoy!

Chapter Six:

Draco sat watching Harry think over what they had talked about and prayed that he would choose to be with him, be it as friends, or lovers. He hoped for lovers, but he would take what he could get.

“Ok. You’ve convinced me to give friendship a chance. We’ll work on the other later. I want to get to know you before we go any further.”

Draco gave him a relieved smile. “You won’t regret it Harry. I promise.”

“I hope not. I don’t think I will. With your passionate speech and Dumbledore’s assurances, I believe that you never wanted to be a death eater.”

“Thank you. Now, what do you want to do today? I know what I would like to do, but since your not ready for that….” he said, with a playful leer.

The comment made Harry blush, but he ignored it.

“How about we just hang out today, get to know each other. We just finished school, I want to just relax a bit before we get back to work. How’s that sound?” said Harry.

“Sounds fine to me. Want to play a bit of chess?”

“Sure, but just so you know, I am dreadful at chess.” he admitted.

“Well, I will have to give you a few pointers while we play. Father and I have had some of our most important talks over a game of chess. He started teaching me how to play when I was only five.”

“I think Sirius had a chess board in one of the sitting rooms. Lets go check.” Harry replied, leading the way to the sitting room he thought it was in.

Sure enough, a very old chessboard was on a high shelf in the back parlor. The pieces were very cranky at being left alone so long, and shouted insults and refused to move a few times, but after a little coaxing and apologizing, they calmed down and cooperated. Draco and Harry talked in between plays, and Draco gave a few pointers to help Harry out.

“So Harry…Why have you kept the fact that you are gay from everyone? Are you ashamed of it?”

“No. I am not ashamed of it. I just don’t want such a private thing blared everywhere. It’s nobody’s business but my own. If anybody else came out of the closet, people would barely blink, the Boy Who Lived? The press would have a field day! They would start rooting around for former lovers, and people I never met before would step up and claim to be one, and I would never get any peace. So, I only told my closest friends.” Harry explained, obviously bitter about the hounding he always got from the press.

“You really do hate all that fame, don’t you?” asked Draco, astonished.

“Yes I do. I can’t do anything without the press finding out , and making a big deal about it. It gets old, fast. I don’t know why people are do curious about me. What did I do, except not die? What’s so special about that? I mean, it was my mum’s protection spell that vanquished Voldie, not mine. If she hadn’t put that spell on me, I would be just as dead. It’s stupid.” vented Harry.

“I’m sorry you have to go through that. I can only imagine what it must be like.” sympathized Draco.

“Thanks. Sorry I vented on you. I usually just ignore things, but sometimes I have to let it out. I probably sound girly right not, don’t I?” he said, embarrassed.

“No. You sound like someone who just needed to vent. Besides, your too sexy to be girly.” he teased.

Harry ducked his head to hide his blush at that comment. He usually wasn’t like this when someone flirted with him, but Draco seemed to have that effect on him.

“So, Harry, you mentioned breaking up with your boyfriend last night. Mind if I ask who it was, and why you broke up?”

“It was Seamus Finnegan. And He broke up with me.”

“That poncy Irish git? You were dating him?” Draco asked, surprised. He didn’t think Harry would be attracted to HIM!

“Yeah. He was great in bed. He’s is a nice guy. He said he was in love with me. He didn’t take it to well when I couldn’t say it back. I don’t blame him though.

“Ahhh, so you broke his heart. Poor Finnegan.” Draco didn’t really sound sympathetic though.

“Hey! Don’t make me feel worse than I already do. So, what about you? Anybody your real serious about? Did you break somebody’s heart too?”

“Oh, loads of people. I’m a real heartbreaker you know. Actually, I was with Blaise Zabini for several months. He got too clingy, and I wasn’t in love with him or anything, so when he started acting jealous every time I even looked at anybody, I broke it off.”

During the conversation, Draco was still giving Harry tips with the hope that Harry would make a worthy opponent sometime in the near future.

“So. Dumbledore wants us to teach each other things. I’m pretty sure he wants me to teach you the dark arts. Probably nothing too illegal, but enough to turn thing in our favor, and it will surprise the hell out of the death eaters. What are you going to teach me?”

“More than likely, the Patronus charm, and how to become and animagus. I also know some great transfiguration charms that would be helpful in a battle. You can enchant a stray branch to become a dog and attack people, things like that. It would make a great weapon, and to quote you ‘would scare the hell out of the death eaters.’” Harry had successfully become a phoenix animagus, and excelled in transfiguration. He spent his free time learning obscure transfigurations with Mcgonogall. She was very proud of him, and they enjoyed their research time together.”

“You’re an animagus?” asked Draco, surprised.

“Yup. A phoenix. Fawkes and I go flying together sometimes.” said Harry, proudly.

“Wicked! Most wizards can’t transform into magical creatures. Even McGonogall is only a house cat! Can you teach me to be one too?”

“Sure. When do you want to start?”

“Right Now!”

“How about first thing in tomorrow instead? I have to get some things together, and look through the notes McGonogall gave me. Plus, I have a book for you to read tonight. I’m sure it will come in handy. It did for me.”

Draco pouted for a moment, but then agreed to wait till tomorrow to start training. They played another round of wizards chess and then it was time for lunch. As they were sitting down to eat, an owl pecked on the window, with a letter tied to its leg. Harry recognized the owl, it was Seamus’s owl. He sighed and let the owl in.

“Someone you don’t want to hear from Harry?” asked Draco, hearing the sigh and seeing the look on his face.

“It’s from Seamus. I think I will read this in the study. I’ll be right back.”

Draco’s heart sank as he watched Harry walk away with the letter. What if he decided to get back together with Finnegan? To have come this close, but to lose him? Draco didn’t think he could bear it.

Harry opened the letter as soon as he entered the study. He really didn’t want to read what it said, but he figured he owed Seamus that much at least.

Dear Harry-

I’m writing to apologize for my behavior the last time we spoke. I miss you greatly, and hope that you didn’t take my words to heart. I didn’t mean to push you into admitting your feelings. You are obviously not ready to go that step further, and I am willing to wait as long as possible. Please forgive me. I love you so much. I miss having you in my arms, and feeling you inside me. I miss your cock in my mouth, the taste of your cum on my tongue. Do you miss those things too Harry? I guess I will have to settle for my hand and my memories until Dumbledore lets us see each other again. I hope to hear from you soon.

Love Always, Seamus

Harry dropped the letter, frustrated. He had expected this, and had been prepared to take him back, but then Draco happened. Harry no longer wanted Seamus. He wanted Draco, badly. He grabbed a piece of parchment to write Seamus back. He didn’t want to delay.

Seamus-

This is very hard for me to write, so I am just going to come out and write it. I am not in love with you. I am not denying any feelings that might be hidden deep down. I care deeply for you, and enjoyed the time we spent together, but it is not love. I never wanted to hurt you, and I am sorry if I have misled you. I cannot lie to you, I would not be fair.
I would like to remain friends with you, since we did have good times together, but if you don’t, I completely understand. Please know that I didn’t want to hurt you. I am truly sorry. Please forgive me.

Harry

Harry rolled up the parchment and returned to the kitchen, where Seamus’s owl was still waiting.

“Take this back to Seamus.” he told the owl as he tied it to his leg. It then flew out the window.

Harry turned back to the table, so see Draco with an unreadable expression on his handsome face.

“Are you okay Draco?” Harry asked, concerned.

“I’m fine. So, what did Finnegan want?”

“To get back together.”

“And?”

“And what? I told him no…oh-that’s what’s the matter. You thought I would take him back. Don’t worry. I am not in love with Seamus. I never was. I told him we could still be friends, though I doubt he will take me up on the offer. I suspect that he will be pissed off, and never want to see me again, not that I blame him.”

“Lovely. I heard the ‘we can still be friends’ speech was the worst. Up there with ‘it’s not you, its me.’ I myself never used them. I didn’t want to be friends after, and it CERTAINTLY wasn’t me, it was them.”

Harry laughed and all tension was now gone, so they continued to eat their lunch.

“After we finish eating, I can give you that book. Once you study it, we can start your lessons. Beyond that, is there anything else you wish me to teach you?”

“Along with the Patronus Charm, and the transfiguration charms you spoke of, I would like to learn some of the higher end defensive spells. I know mostly offensive spells, which I will teach you, but my father mostly went for offensive ones. What about you? What do you want me to teach you?”

“I really am not comfortable with learning the dark arts. I’m surprised that Dumbledore wants you to teach it to me.”
Harry confessed.

“Well, most people don’t really realize that most of the magic itself is not dark. It’s really the intent that is dark. I admit that a few of the curses really are dark. I don’t see any use for ‘crucio’ other than torture, but most of it is very handy, and will really help save your life in a battle. My opinion is that they outlawed so many of the spells because they feared them, and most of the pompous jerks couldn’t handle them themselves. They wanted people dependent on them, and not able to defend themselves. Also, a lot of dark wizards, like Grindewald and Voldemort use them so much, they have a stigma on them that they are dark, and people are scared to use them, and be labeled dark themselves. How about I make up a lesson plan, that both you and Dumbledore approve. Will that make you more comfortable?”

Harry just looked at Draco in awe. Even with all that he had learned about them in the past day, he still didn’t had trouble seeing who he really was. He was beginning to see now, though. Draco was a really incredible person.

Draco sat waiting for Harry’s answer. He was starting to grow uncomfortable with Harry staring at him like that.

“Harry? Hello? What’s wrong?”

“Oh. Sorry Draco. You just surprised me. Please don’t get offended, it’s just that with all that has happened between us these seven years, it’s going to take me awhile to get used to the fact that your not shallow and evil.”

Draco sat there for a few moments trying to decide if he should be angry that Harry felt that way about him. Then he realized that he did enough to him in school to make it hard for Harry to let go of his previous bias of him.

“Don’t worry Harry. I gave you enough reason before to make it hard to get used to who I really am. I’m not mad or offended.

Harry gave him a relieved smile.

“Want to go get that book now?” he asked.

“Yes. I am anxious to start reading it. Who is the author?”

“My father, godfather, Remus Lupin and Peter Pettigrew. They wrote down their experiences in learning to become an animagus in school. It was very helpful to me. I think it will be helpful to you too.”

“I promise to be careful with it. I am sure it is very dear to you.”

“It is. Thank you.”
