Chapter 6

"Why, it's just. Oh, um - well they don't feel the same way and I don't want to embarrass myself in front of the entire school. I've been thinking about her all summer actually. Wondering what I'm gonna say when I see her."

"Same with me; I don't want to make a complete fool of myself and incur the wrath of my family for unrequited love." She sat down, next to Draco. He turned and looked into her eyes. He reached out and helr har hands, he felt them shudder at his touch and he hastily let go.

"Sorry, I didn't realise I revolted you that much." He flushed a warm pink and stood to leave

"No, you don't revolt me at all Draco. I was just not expecting that. I'm sorry."

He turned, with a smile on his face, one she had only seen in her dreams, not the cold sneer he saved for Harry, but a warm grin that imparted love to his face.

"Oh" he sat down again, he took her hands and leaned in for a kiss, he did not know what had come over him, and he felt reckless.

A sudden flash of light filled the compartment and they hastily let go of each other and looked up.

"Ginny? What are you doing in here - and with him?" It was Ron; she had rarely seen him this apoplectic with rage.

She hoped he had not seen the almost-kiss.

"We were talking. Nothing wrong with that is there?" she flared

"Yes there is! He's a MALFOY! Everyone hates them, Ginny. How do you think Harry'll feel when he hears about this?"

"It's got nothing to do with Harry who I speak to, we are not engaged you know. Why does everyone think that?! I can speak to whom I wish and, oh just sod off Ron!" She stood up and pushed him out of the compartment and slid the door shut. He stood outside, looking as though he was searching for an insult worthy of this. She looked at Draco.

"I am sorry about that, I must go. Otherwise everyone'll know before we even reach Hogwarts. Maybe we can speak there?"

"Meet me by the Quidditch pitch after dinner, no-one will be there, maybe we can talk then."

"I'll see you there."
