Chapter 6
Dueling without a wand...
..aka ... 101 ways to kick ass that a normal wizard won’t se coming…
Harry, Hermione and Ron walked inside the class room where the new class were going to be held. The room was 2 times the size of a normal class room and was divided into lanes. The trio spotted Draco across the room and headed over to him to wait for the teachers to arrive.
The class was bit shrouded in mystery sense they had only been told that it would be a very practical class. But the buzz about the school was that the classes would be intense. There was only one class besides Harry’s class that had begun the course so far and they had been sworn to secrecy.
Soon the class had gathered and they all stood around the room waiting.
All of a sudden a bang, and the door slammed open and a cloak dressed person rushed into the room followed by another figure. The class stood wide eyes as the cloak dressed persons started a fast and furious swordfight. Their movements were nothing but a blur as the sword glinted in the candle light.
Suddenly the darker figure swept the other persons legs from under them, making the figure drop to the floor with a grunt.
“Nice one Darlin’… “The figure on the floor said.
The two pulled back the hoods revealing the smiling faces of their two teachers. Ino grinned widely and returned her katana to the scabbard on her back. The speed of her movements had the jaws dropping on each of the students.
“That is what this class is about. “ Her green eyes sparkled in the light of the sun outside. The young men saw the beauty in strength that day. They understood how a strong woman, a warrior could be in itself something Beautiful.
The two teachers started to explain the philosophy of sword fighting and hand to hand combat in general. They also briefly touched on the subject on why they had been called on to teach this class.
“The war is brewing and most wizards do not know how to defend themselves without a wand. We want to teach all of you this. As we are of the sindarin people, our history is very well entwined with the arts. “ Etro had told them.
They were divided into groups of 4, and they were taught a simple kata, that they were to master until the next time. The two teachers made it look easy but a few of the students actually found that they had a natural talent. Harry, Hermione, Ron and Draco were among them. One young man that was surprised that he found the lesson easy was Neville Longbottom.
As the 2 Elves ended the class they said.
“Could Mr. Potter, Weasley, Malfoy and Miss Granger stay behind please.”
The classroom soon emptied and the 4 students asked to remain behind were alone. Ino murmured an elfish word and the walls shimmers in green for a second. Juno gave a nod toward Etro.
“There my friends. Now we can talk.” He sat down in a sofa group that he conjured out of thin air. “Have a seat, you must be wondering why we asked you 4 to remain behind.”
At their nods he continued.
“All will be answered as soon as the others arrive.” At that he stood and conjured a tea set. Serving those that accepted. They chatted for a while. Well mostly Hermione, Etro and Ino. The young woman asking a lot questions about the elfish realms. The elves enjoyed telling them story’s about their home.
One after one Lucius, Severus, Remus and Ginny slipped into the classroom. When they were all there Etro sat back with a smile.
“I guess you must all be wondering why I… we brought you here?” He asked with a mysterious smile. At the group’s collective answer of yes, he continued. “I must ask you, what do you know of a institution that is called the high council of magic’s?”
Hermione raised her hand.
“Miss Granger, this is not a classroom. After the lessons end I am no teacher. But go ahead...” Etro said with a grin.
“The High council of magic is an institution that ruled wizarding England. Every country in the world has one. But England is the only one that has a magical basis not only a symbolic one.” Hermione went into lecture mode. “The English council was founded by Merlin to take up the magical heritage in his place. They are divided into 5 elements; The Spirit as its leaders. Then we have earth, wind, fire and water, 2 pairs or one person in each position. In the last 1000 years there have been 10 people in the council. They control the elemental magic of the world. They are charged with keeping the balance. It was said that the Hogwarts founders and spouses were the last council. Together with a couple believed to be elves.”
“That is all true. You must be wondering why I am telling you this right now?” Etro said with a smile. The group, except for his wife nodded.
“Because I believe…no I know that you all are part of that council.”
The Elves waited until the outraged shouting started to die down. The group talking in a choir. Ino smirks at her mate, they share a conspiring look before Ino lets of a piercing whistle.
“If you would let my Darlin’ husband explains?” Ino said with a wicked smirk at the shocked look on the groups faces. At a nod from Harry the whole group sat down again. Ino smiled, the group was already deferring to Harry as the leader.
“So what makes you come to that crazy idea?” Severus said with a sneer.
“We, Ino and I are the aspect of fire. I am the dominant mage, she is my submissive, or my guardian. That causes us to be able to feel the others.”
“Ok..” Harry said with a smile. He obviously thought that the elves were nuts.
“I see we will need to show you that we are telling you the truth, Come with me…”he stood and moved to the wall. Drawing a circle on the stone wall he murmured “Feux portalix”
The wall with in the circle seemed to shimmer into flames. The mage stepped into the flames and his wife followed.
The group stood shocked for a second before Harry swore to himself and lead the charge so to speak. Following the two eleves into the fire portal.
Syepping out of it they appeared t o be in a empty classroom. The walls climmering with power.
“This room has been enforced to withstand elemental magic erupting. Oits the classroom set aside for your training. Ino and I will teach you what we can, as our parents did befor us.”
Ino stepped forward holding her hand out for Harry.
“Come to me Harry. And I will show you…”
Harry moved over to her and lay his hand in hers.
She smiled wickedly before trying to enter his mind by force. Instantly Shields slammed into place and she was trust away from Harry by a invisible force.
“By merlin…” Harry swore as he rushed forward to INo’s side.
“I knew that would happen. You are a Spirit mage Harry. So is your mate. It’s the reason your bond is so mazingly deep and complex. You probably bonded the first time you ever meet.”
“We believe that Harry is the dominant Spirit mage. It is the only reason we can explain him surviving the killing curse.” Etro explained, “The killing curse is actually soul magic. You are ripping someone’s soul from them and that is not possible with a spirit mage. The only way for the soul to leave its body is if their mate is already gone. If one if alive the other will be to.”
