Chapter 6: The First Day.

Chapter 6: The First Day.

Sarah woke up in her own room in the morning of her first day as a 6th year student. She got out of her bed and dressed in to her school uniform. She opened her trunk and pulled out her day planner. She read the classes that she had for the day and grabbed all the books she needed for the classes and put them into her book bag.
Once Sarah had fixed herself up she left her bedroom and walked down to the common room. She looked around for Draco and saw him sitting on a big black couch surrounded by the Quidditch team and a small group of girls. Sarah quietly walked past everyone and popped up behind Draco.
“What’s going on?” Sarah asked.
“We’re just catching up on what we did over the holiday break.” Draco replied.
“Oh right. So what classes do you have today?”
“Ah.” Draco pulled out a piece of paper from his pocket. “Potions, Transfiguration, Dark arts and His of of magic.”
“Oh same.” Sarah smiled excitedly.
“Good.” Draco returned the smile. Sarah kissed his cheek. She looked around and saw the group of girls walking towards her.
“Hi.” Said a girl with short black hair and a slightly ugly face.
“Hi.”
“I don’t believe we have actually met. I’m Pansy Parkinson, this is Laura Punter, Anna Spinnet, Rose Florance, Amy Tennor and Carmen Roach.” Pansy pointed to each girl as she said their names.
“Hey Car.” Sarah already knew Carmen.
“Hey.” Carmen smiled.
“Well it’s nice to meet you all.” Sarah looked at all the girls. “And I’m sorry to disappoint but I must be going.”
“Oh where?” Pansy asked.
“To breakfast.” Sarah replied.
“Oh well we’ll come with you.” Pansy stepped forward.
“Ah… sure.” Sarah left the common room with the girls following her. What Sarah hadn’t known was that Pansy was planning something. Pansy wanted something of Sarah’s and she was going to get it. Pansy was the Slytherin bitch and Slut.
Sarah walked with the girls to the great hall. They were just about to enter the hall when Sarah caught a glimpse of Harry Ron and Hermione turning into the hallway. Ron looked up at Sarah and nudged Harry making him push in to Hermione so they all ended up looking at Sarah. Sarah smiled at them.
“What’s wrong?” Carmen asked. Sarah looked at her.
“Nothing. You girls go ahead I’ll catch up with you in a second.”
“Ok.” Pansy and the girls walked into the Great hall.
“Hi guys.” Sarah smiled as they got closer to her.
“Hi.” They all said.
“So ah what classes do you have today?” Sarah asked. Ron and Harry went scrambling around in their pockets.
“I have Potions, Transfiguration, Defense against the dark arts and History of Magic.” Hermione replied remembering all he classes off the top of her head, rolling her eyes at Ron and Harry.
“Me too.” Harry said, looking down at his paper.
“Me three.” Ron added, trying to be funny. Sarah laughed.
“That’s good. I have the same classes, so I’ll see you three in class.”
“Yep.”
“Laters.” Sarah was about to walk away when Ron grabbed her arm softly. Harry and Hermione stared at Ron. Sarah looked back at Ron. “What is it?”
“Ah, do, do, do, do you wan- know who that girl is?” Ron asked, clearly failing to ask his original question.
“Um, Laura?” Sarah couldn’t really see where he was pointing to.
“Yeah Laura that’s right.” Ron said with a slight sigh.
“I don’t really know her, I just met her.”
“It’s ok Sarah.” Hermione cut in.
“Ok then.” Sarah walked away.
“She’s still with Draco you imbecile.”
“Alright Mione, I get it get it for Merlin sake!!!” Ron shouted. Hermione stared at him.
“Come on.” Harry pushed them towards the Gryffindor table.

Sarah sat down at the Slytherin table.
“Why were you talking to them?” Pansy asked, irritably.
“Because I want to.” Sarah retorted.
“Alright.” Pansy turned away and ate her breakfast. The other girls looked at Sarah in shock. No one had ever talked back to Pansy. Sarah looked at the girls and smiled. They quickly smiled back and turned to their food.

Sarah left breakfast a little early and headed to the potions classroom. She walked by herself not really wanting the girls to walk with her. Sarah noticed that Snape hadn’t turned up to breakfast. So he was probably in his classroom getting ready for his classes.
Sarah walked down the staircase and through the dark hallway. She walked to the potions class room door and saw that it was closed. She knocked on the door once.
“Come in.” Snape barked. Sarah opened the door and walked in. “You are early.” Snape kept his head down.
“I’m sorry.” Sarah apologized. Snape looked up at Sarah and changed his look.
“Miss Harrison it’s good to see you again.”
“It’s good to see you too professor.” Sarah smiled as she sat down at a front row table. She watched Snape scribble down notes on his parchment.
“I received your note.” Snape put down his quill and looked up at Sarah again.
“Good.”
“I do appreciate it.” Snape stood up. “You are the only student ever to call me a nice professor. Normally I’m the meanest person alive.” Snape let out a little cough laugh.
“I assure you that is not true.” Sarah laughed. “I’m glad you enjoyed my note.”
“Yes, although I do like to keep my mean side alive.”
“It’s ok. I will not tell anyone that you are nice.” Sarah chuckled.
“Thank you.” Snape crossed his arms as the students walked in through the door. “Sit down.” Snape demanded. Draco walked over to Sarah and sat down next to her.
“Why are you sitting at the front?” Draco asked.
“I don’t know.” Sarah shrugged. “Just wanted to try it out.”
“Ok.”
“No potion making today.” Snape announced. “I want you all to revise the Boil cure potion. Then next lesson I want you to make it, with out fault.” The class pulled out their books and turned to the boil cure potion page. Sarah began to write the ingredients and steps down on her parchment. Snape sat down at his desk and began to write again. Occasionally Snape would look up directly at Sarah.
Draco noticed that it was happening quite a bit and he began to get angry. He knew that there had to be something going on between them. Why else would he be looking at her? Sarah did get to the classroom early. Draco would find out what was going on soon enough. He though.
