Harry Potter and the Unexpected Lily

Ginny found Hermione in one of her favorite places, the Hogwarts library.
Books were strewn all about her on the table at which she sat, she appeared to be doing her charms homework.
Hermione was gazing intently at a piece of parchment, a small smile upon her lips.
Normally Ginny would never dream of interrupting her friend in the middle of work, but this was an emergency.
\"Hermione, I\'m sorry for interrupting you, but I\'ve got something important I have to tell you. It\'s about Harry\'s sister and Professor Snape.\"
Instantly Hermione looked up, she had obviously not been paying attention to her surroundings. She hadn\'t expected anyone to sneak up on her like this.

Hermione shoved the paper she had been gazing at into her charms book.
Unfortunately for her, Ginny caught a glimpse of it. She was curious as to why her most level headed friend would be so jumpy.
To Ginny\'s surprise, the paper had nothing more then a big heart drawn on it.
In the middle of the heart were the initials HG + RW.

Ginny broke out into a smile, she wasn\'t born yesterday, as the muggles say.
She had long suspected that Hermione had a crush on her brother Ron. She was also certain that Ron liked Hermione just as much.
Smiling, Ginny reassured her embarrassed friend. \"Hermione, I\'m sure he fancies you just as much as you do him.\"

Hermione looked hopefully up at Ginny, then she sighed. \"I really don\'t think he sees me as more then a friend, or another sister. He\'s never asked me out. \"
To change the subject, Hermione asked why Ginny wanted to see her.
Even though Ginny had already mentioned it, Hermione was so preoccupied with her own thoughts, that she hadn\'t caught what Ginny had said.
\" I think I\'ve figured out why Professor Snape has been dreaming about Harry\'s sister.\" repeated Ginny.

Hermione was instantly curious, neither Ron Harry or herself had been able to guess why Snape of all people would be dreaming of Harry\'s sister.
She wanted to solve this mystery, and hoped Ginny really did have the answer.
\"I think he\'s in love with her.\" Ginny blurted out.
\"I mean, you saw the way he blushed when the Headmaster brought it up.
I\'ve never seen him blush before, I doubt anyone else ever has either.\"

Snape in love, it was so outragious, that Hemione had never bothered to entertain the notion. But now that she thought about it, she could see her friends point.
Why else would the professor be blushing?
\"Harry is not going to like this one bit.\" Hermione stated.

Ginny had to agree. \"I just came from talking to him, I didn\'t tell him anything yet.
I was afraid of what he might do. And I wanted to talk it over with you first.\"
Ginny sat down at the table next to Hermione. \"Should I tell him about this, you don\'t think he\'s going to get upset do you?\"

\"I\'m afraid he will get upset.\" admitted Hermione.
\'\"We can\'t keep this from him though, he\'s our friend, and he trusts us to be honest with him.\"
Ginny grinned, she couldn\'t resist teasing her friend just a little. \"Speaking of being honest to friends, when are you going to tell my brother that you are in love with him?\"

\"Oh, probably about the same time you tell Harry you want to be his girlfriend!\"
Hermione noticed Ginny blushed a deep red. \"At least you have a better chance at bagging your man then I do.\" Ginny pouted.
\"Harry\'s never shown the slightest interest in me, I\'m just Ron\'s little sister to him.\"

So intent were the two Gryffindors on talk of crushes, that they didn\'t notice they were being spied on.
One very nosy blond Slytherin was hidden from sight in the book stacks.
He had heard every word the two girls had said.
While teasing them about crushes would be fun, he was more interested in the fact that Harry could have a sister.
Perhaps he should inform his father about this most interesting piece of news.
