Title: Seraphim Author: Faline Summary: style='mso-spacerun:yes'> Harry wakes up and gets the biggest shock of his lifetime. Well, maybe not the biggest but DAMN, he gets freaked out. A/N: First HP story ever. style='mso-spacerun:yes'> Tried to do something original. style='mso-spacerun:yes'> If it comes back to bite me in the ass, at least I’ll have an excuse right? Chapter Six I walked the grounds of Hogwarts, simply fascinated by its appearance. It, of course, looked exactly like it had when I had first arrived at this place as a First year. Everything was exactly the way it had been back then. Oh, how the times had changed it. Had aged the place and made it look 5 thousand years older. style='mso-spacerun:yes'> It felt strange to stand in the same place that Voldemort would draw his last breath in about nine years from the date. It felt strange to stand there in a body nine years older than the one that had killed him. I bowed my head, remember the final battle in the shade of the Whomping Willow. style='mso-spacerun:yes'> In the shade of that same tree I remembered the scarred trunk and branches that had been hit my hexes, curses, and people alike. With distinct clarity I could hear the creak of the old limps as my final curse, the style='mso-bidi-font-weight:bold'>Avada Kedavra, hit the man who would take over the world at the same moment a branch would impale itself through my own arm. I realized, a second too late, that the creaking I had heard was not my memory but the tree of the present. With a slight scream, I turned my body enough to avoid a severe blow to the center of my chest, instead, taking it five inches to the left and the front of my shoulder. I screamed as I flew. My voice, not even my own, sounded high pitched and panicky. style='mso-spacerun:yes'> For some insane reason, even the fact that I was now 30 feet from both the tree and the ground didn’t matter. style='mso-spacerun:yes'> All that mattered was that I was a girl. And I was flying. My flight was rather short lived. I landed a few seconds after the initial screams had ended. Hard on my ass, which was less padded than it should be. The momentum from the blow caused me to flip once, and end up right back on my ass. style='mso-spacerun:yes'> With a groan, I tried to cradle both the pummeled shoulder and bruised bottom. It didn’t work so well. “Oi! style='mso-spacerun:yes'> Ye all right over there?” style='mso-spacerun:yes'> I froze at the sound of the voice. I had not heard it in the last five years. Not since I had broken the heart of said voice owner. style='mso-spacerun:yes'> I cringed as I heard him jog up behind me and stop a few feet away. Remembering that I wasn’t really Harry Potter, I turned to give Oliver Wood a smile. style='mso-spacerun:yes'> “Yeah, I think so. style='mso-spacerun:yes'> I wasn’t paying attention.” He smiled, and my heart melted a small amount. He was just a first year, all limbs and cheeky grins. style='mso-spacerun:yes'> I couldn’t help but chuckle as he grinned in relief. “Well, dats good. style='mso-spacerun:yes'> I have ta go. style='mso-spacerun:yes'> I’m glad you’re all right.” style='mso-spacerun:yes'> Leaving the conversation short lived, he jogged off again, heading towards the quidditch pitch. style='mso-spacerun:yes'> I knew that he would probably be off for training. It was the season, after all. With another groan, this time all for myself, I rose. style='mso-spacerun:yes'> For some reason, my crotch hurt. style='mso-spacerun:yes'> I could only hope that I wasn’t bleeding. I didn’t want to have to deal with that monstrosity and try to find out what the hell I needed to find out. After a moment of standing, I concluded that I would be better off sitting down for a moment. It still hurt and I was slightly dizzy from the wonderful bird impression. style='mso-spacerun:yes'> I stretched out my legs, gazing out across the lawn. It took me a moment to remember that is had been where I had first kissed Sev. style='mso-spacerun:yes'> This is where I had stumbled across his unconscious form and had kissed him back to life so to speak. style='mso-spacerun:yes'> I couldn’t stop the tear from dripping. Nor the few that followed it. This body had some messed up hormones. And I really missed Sev. The moping was coming. I could feel it building behind my eyes, stinging and sour. Damn this body. With a sigh, I put my head on my knees and prepared to have a good cry. style='mso-spacerun:yes'> “Miss Malfoy, it surprises me to find you here.” I screamed, half from fight, half from disappointment. style='mso-spacerun:yes'> It was a short lived blast however, and got only a chuckle from the man behind me. “What do you want Severus?” I heard him shift from one foot to the other. He was silent. I looked over my shoulder at him. He didn’t look surprised that I had called him by his first name. style='mso-spacerun:yes'> This worried me a little. style='mso-spacerun:yes'> If anything, he looked disappointed. style='mso-spacerun:yes'> “Would you care to join me for a cup of tea in my office?” Something had definitely been going on between these two. style='mso-spacerun:yes'> Sev had never, in all my years at Hogwarts, invited a student to his office for a cup of tea. style='mso-spacerun:yes'> Ever. He looked at me expectantly and I was struck by how much he had changed during the final wars. He looked so much younger. Younger, but trapped. style='mso-spacerun:yes'> A fervent Death Eater, a faithful servant, a traitor to his brothers in death. Oh how I loved him. I rose with his help and we made our way to the dungeons. style='mso-spacerun:yes'> He didn’t ask me why I was holding my shoulder or why I was walking stiffly. After the third curious stare, I elaborated on my condition. style='mso-spacerun:yes'> “I got a little too close to the Whomping Willow and took a short trip across the lawn.” He nodded in that “I’m-Severus-Snape-And-I-Will-Not-Let-People-See-I’m-Human” sort of way. I nodded back, and we seemed to be at an agreement. No discussing things that didn’t matter. As we reached his office door, I smiled small when he spoke the password that I myself could have used to get in. We entered the room and I sighed, feeling familiar surroundings once again. style='mso-spacerun:yes'> Just inside the door, Sev turned around quickly, trapping me in the door way. style='mso-spacerun:yes'> “Miss Malfoy . . . “ style='mso-spacerun:yes'> He bent his head slightly, and I could feel his breath on my cheek. His scent filled my senses. He was still so beautiful. Unconsciously, I wet my lips and leaned my face up. “Seraphim . . . “ Talk about killing the mood. My raging male libido was suddenly run over by a big estrogen school bus. style='mso-spacerun:yes'> “Severus, we need to talk.” style='mso-spacerun:yes'> He blinked and backed up, his eyes becoming less cloudy. style='mso-spacerun:yes'> I wasn’t sure if it was concern or lust, but I didn’t like the way he was looking at Lucius Malfoy’s oldest. “Yes, yes we do.” He turned away from me. style='mso-spacerun:yes'> I followed him, watching that trim figure, remembering how good it felt to sleep curled up to that behind. style='mso-spacerun:yes'> How comfortable he was. style='mso-spacerun:yes'> I was so caught up in my thoughts that I didn’t notice he had stopped by the couch and ran right into him. style='mso-spacerun:yes'> We both went sprawling. style='mso-spacerun:yes'> He, on the couch. style='mso-spacerun:yes'> Me, on top of him. style='mso-spacerun:yes'> Well damn. It suddenly dawned on me that the bus just picked up my libido and decided to take it for a ride. Even as a woman I wanted this man. My crotch was tingling. I jumped up and moved away immediately. “If there was a point for this invitation, please feel free to come to it.” > He sighed, and nodded. Taking a seat at one of his couches, he signaled for me to take a seat across from him. style='mso-spacerun:yes'> I complied and he leaned forward, bracing his chin with his hand. “Well, I’d like to verify with you that nothing about the Order was revealed while you were sleeping. I tried to bypass your wards on your Respeaker but I couldn’t. You’ve changed them in the last few weeks.” Cue cold water in three . . . two . . . one . . . I blinked. style='mso-spacerun:yes'> “The Order?” “Yes Seraphim. The Order. style='mso-spacerun:yes'> If you said anything that the Respeaker didn’t manage to sift out, in your own father’s house none the less, things could get a little . . . shall we say hairy.” I coughed at this. This was taking a moment to decipher. Apparently not only was I Lucius Malfoy’s daughter now, but I was also another spy for the Order. style='mso-spacerun:yes'> Well I’ll be Dudley’s skinny uncle. The whole situation was getting more and more preposterous. By the second in fact. “I don’t remember Severus, I’m sorry.” I gave him the only answer I could think of. “I don’t even remember when I put the Respeaker, quite honestly.” He sighed and pulled a small piece of metal out of his desk. style='mso-spacerun:yes'> It looked sort of like a hair pin that a Muggle would use. Placing it on the desk in between us, he looked at me expectantly, then down to the metal. After a few moments, he spoke. “Would you please unward your Respeaker for me, please?” Oh. style='mso-spacerun:yes'> Right. I picked up the object, trying to remember what I had learned about Respeakers in Auror training. They were always warded with something that was familiar and comforting. style='mso-spacerun:yes'> I thought for a moment. style='mso-spacerun:yes'> I didn’t really know enough about this new life to be able to guess something even close. So, I guess at something wildly. I thought of the most comforting thing I could at that moment. style='mso-spacerun:yes'> With a thought, the small metal device popped open lengthwise and emitted a short beep. style='mso-spacerun:yes'> Severus watched on, glad that I had managed to open the thing up. I told it to recall the last time it was used, and listened with fascination as Lucius talked to ‘me’ while I slept. He detailed his latest plans for bringing the Dark Lord back, most of which would happen in three to five years. I had to give the guy credit; he was certainly planning a head. The Respeaker fuzzed out for a moment until it cleared and we could both hear the voice of Seraphim Malfoy. She, or I, seemed to be saying something about a sweet ass. style='mso-spacerun:yes'> With an overwhelming horror, I realized that I was detailing how delicious the ass of one Severus Snape really was and how I wouldn’t mind ‘petting it’ for hours on end. At Snape’s glare of death, I could only blush. ~!~!~!~!~!~!~ Another cliffhanger, sorta. style='mso-spacerun:yes'> Lots of fun. |
