The Team
Sorry it\'s so short. It\'s just the way it turned out.

Chapter Five
The Team
Sunday heralded a day of homework for Harry and Ron, while Hermione sat reading a rather large book she had described of light research. (Harry and Ron had staat hat her gob smacked, but hadn\'t said a word.) Harry\'s potions homework was as confusing and tedious as ever, at which Ron had laughed and told Harry he should drop it. (\"But he needs potions to be Auror!\" Hermione cried.) When Harry and Ron finally got to bed, it was nearing one AM, and Harry was begging that he had made the team, just so he didn\'t have to continue with this workload.
\"Anything good this morning?\" Ron asked, rubbing his hands together gleefully at the prospect of a free period while Harry and Hermione had to suffer Snape first thing on the Monday morning. Harry scowled, helping himself to a large portion of bacon and sausages.
\"Nothing unusual.\" Hermione replied, looking over the first paper for her newly reapplied prescription to The Daily Prophet.
\"Have Fred and George gone back to London?\" Harry asked slowly, swallowing a mouthful of bacon.
\"Left last night.\" Ginny answered, sitting down next to him. \"Lee left early this morning. He was planning on staying the day, but he got a call from app apparently, match was moved to today instead of tomorrow.\" Harry nodded, and took another bite of sausage.
The bustle of Monday morning breakfast was soon silenced by Professor Dumbledore getting to his feet.
\"Now, I know everyone is anxious to hear the line-up for the Hogwarts team. After much deliberating yesterday, Madam Hooch, Mr. Wood, Mr. Lupin and myself have narrowed it down to the final ten.\" He commented.
\"Ten?\" Ron repeated quizzically. \"He said fourteen before.\"
\"The line up will be:\" The entire hall had fallen silent as everyone held their breath. Most of the Quidditch players were looking around nervously, all except the Slytherin players, who were staring around arrogantly, all positive they had made the team.
\"Our Chasers will be, Miss Ginny Weasley of Gryffindor.\" The Gryffindor table erupted into cheers as Ginny blushed a deep crimson. \"Mr Roger Davies of Ravenclaw.\" Harry looked over to see Roger beaming proudly as the Ravenclaws all began cheering and patting him on the back. \"And finally, Mr Draco Malfoy of Slytherin.\" Mutters erupted all over the hall, how could Draco Malfoy be a Chaser? He was a Seeker. There must have been a mistake. Harry, Ron and Hermione exchanged confused glances, before looking over at the Slytherin table to find Draco was just as confused at they were. He was staring blankly at Dumbledore as Pansy Parkinson muttered something in his ear. \"Our reserve Chaser; will be Zacharias Smith of Hufflepuff.\" The mutters died away to be replaced with cheers for Zacharias.
\"The Beaters:\" Dumbledore\'s voice boomed over the cheering students, making them fall silent instantly. \"Mr. Vincent Crabbe,\" Cheers erupted from the Slytherins. \"And Mr. Gregory Goyle, both from Slytherin.\" Even louder cheers from the Slytherins.
\"That sucks! Both Beaters, Slytherins!\" Ron moaned.
\"The reserve beater will be Jack Sloper of Gryffindor.\" Harry\'s reply to Ron was cut off when cheers a few seats down from them erupted. \"Our Keeper will be Mr Ronald Weasley of Gryffindor.\"
\"EXCELLENT!\" Harry yelled over an uproar of \'Weasley is Our King\'.
\"rve rve Keeper will be Miles Bletchley of Slytherin.\" Ron ducked down slightly in his chair when Miles Bletchley glared over murderously at Ron as if signalling Ron\'s death right then and there to get him out of the game.
\"Finally, our Seeker will be Mr Harry Potter of Gryffindor.\" Dumbledore finished. \"Now, if the team would like to meet in the side room after breakfast, you will be given instructions for the day before you set off. Congratulations, you all played an excellent game on Saturday.\" Dumbledore sat down as the chatter in the hall built up quickly to normal.
\"No surprises with the Seeker.\" Ron grinned as Harry smirked enthusiastically. \"Surprise about Malfoy though.\"
\"Yes.\" Hermione commented thoughtfully. \"We know Mr Malfoy isn\'t bribing anyone anymore, so why did he make a Chaser? He must bd, ad, at not getting Seeker, I mean.\"
\"Yeah well, there was no way he\'d get Seeker with Harry in the game.\" Ron replied snidely. \"Malfoy\'s got nothing on him.\"
\"Why isn\'t there a reserve Seeker?\" Harry asked suddenly, leaning onto the table. \"Do they not expect me to get hurt at all?\"
\"No idea. Good question. You should ask Dumbledore when we go into the meeting.\" Ron looked over to Dumbledore to see he was rising to go to the side room of the Great Hall. \"Which loabouabout now mate. We should go.\"
Slowly around the room, the ten selected Quidditch players rose from their seats and made their way towards the chamber, people patting them on the back as they passed, Harry and Ron even receiving a few pats from people they knew in Hufflepuff as they passed between the Hufflepuff and Gryffindor tables.
\"Well done all of you!\" Dumbledore commented as the last player entered the room and the door swung shut behind them. His eyes glittered kindly. \"You will be leaving tomorrow evening and will have the day off classes. Tomorrow morning at eight thirty you will return here to be given your work. Are there any questions?\"
\"Yes.\" Draco Malfoy sneered. Indicating him to go on, Dumbledore smiled. \"Why am I a Chaser?\"
\"Mr. Malfoy,\" everyone jumped as Remus Lupin spoke gravely from the shadows. \"We noticed that you are a fantastic strategist, but you only see the snitch when other\'s have. Therefore, we thought you better for the chaser, though you are the reserve seeker.\"
\"What do you know?\" Malfoy drawled. \"You\'re an out of work teacher.\"
\"Mr. Malfoy!\" Dumbledore snapped, looking murderous.
\"Albus, I don\'t mind,\" Remus replied.
\"Ah, but Remus, I do.\" Dumbledore nodded. \"Now listen well, all of you.\" His eyes roamed over the silent curious faces in the room. \"You will treat Mr. Lupin and Mr. Wood as if they are teachers in school. You als also be receiving help from Professors oth other schools. If any of them receive trouble from a Hogwart\'s team member, I will know about it, and that student will be brought back to the school. These people have worked very hard to make this possible; I will not have their work taken advantage of. Am I understood?\"
\"Yes Headmaster.\" Everyone droned, Draco Malfoy\'s face reddeningghtlghtly.
\"Now, why don\'t you all go off to your classes?\"
Everyone nodded and turned before filing out back into the great hall. Separating from there, everyone set off down to their normal classes. Their excitement hidden by the looming dread of another horrible Monday morning.
