Arthur's Sacrafice

When Hermione, Molly and the children arrived home, Siri ran from the vehicle straight to the house. “Siri! Wait!” Hermione called. She was trying to get babies from the SUV and was having a hard time bending with her belly in the way.

“He’ll be fine, dear,” Molly said with a smile. “Is their nanny home?”

“I don’t know. I didn’t ask Harry. God’s, they have way to many babies to pack around!” she said picking up Jazzy and looking at the twins.

“You take Jazzy into the house, dear, and I’ll get the twins. I’ve had my fair share of experience totting twin’s around.”

“Thanks, Molly. I’m exhausted today! Work was hell!”

Molly grinned. “And I bet that baby of yours is taking a lot of energy out of you,” she said.

“I hate being pregnant, Molly, I really hate it. Harry was right, there is no worse hell!”

Molly burst out in laughter. “I loved being pregnant. I loved the feeling of the babies growing in my belly, the feel of their tiny little kicks, when they got the hiccups, when flopped around, I loved it all!”

“You are insane! It is the worst form of claustrophobia! It’s like this thing has completely taken over my body! I’m not even me anymore. Every where I go everyone thinks that its their right to come up to me and pat my belly! I hate it! I hate having to pee every five minutes, I hate that I can’t sleep on my stomach at night, I hate that my favorite sexual position doesn’t work anymore,” she raged and then blushed when she realized what she had revealed.

Molly smiled in understanding. “I did hate that part as well,” she said with a grin. “Everyone is different love.”

“I told Neville that this child was going to be an only child,” she said.

“What did he say?”

“He smiled and asked if I would like him to rub my back. I love him so much!” she softly smiled thinking of the amazing Wizard that she married.

“Come on, dear, lets get these babies up to their bed’s.”

Siri raced straight for the family corridor. He needed to speak with his grandfather. If anyone would know how to get Lilly back, it would be grandfather. He was sneaky and knew how to do sneaky things.

“Grandfather!” he shouted slamming the hall door open and racing to the far end.

“Don’t you have any manners?” an old portrait demanded. “It is our nap time!”

“Stuff it!” he hissed. “Grandfather!” he shouted again.

“A Malfoy does not race through the house shouting, Sirius,” Lucius informed him with a sneer.

“I’m a Potter too, and we don’t have any manners, remember?”

Lucius tried to hide the smirk but failed when he broke out into laughter. “You are correct, my boy. What is it you are bellowing through the house about?”

“Rabastan Lestrange kidnapped Lilly,” he cried.

“What?” Lucius demanded. “He is back in the country?”

“My dad thought he was dead!”

“No, although he should be,” Lucius muttered.

“Where would he have taken her? She is so scared, Grandfather. I can feel it!”

“Narcissa!” Lucius shouted looking at his wife’s blank picture. “Where is that Witch at when I need her?” he hissed.

“I am here, dear,” she said reappearing a moment later.

“Have you been to Bella’s home? Is Lilly there?”

“Yes. That idiot took her to get her to tell him where Bella hid the key to the vaults. Peter told him that she was a Medium.”

“Oh gods!” Lucius cried. “He’ll be furious if Bella doesn’t tell!”

Narcissa nodded and then smiled at Siri. “Your sister is fine for now. Your grandma is with her.”

“I must go to her!” Siri cried out. “How do I get there, Grandfather?” he demanded.

“No!” Narcissa cried. “You are too young! Let your fathers handle it!”

“There will be a fight between dad, father, and Grandpa Arthur and some men that I don’t know. Father will be hexed and dad will need to take him to St. Mungos. Grandpa Arthur will be captured by Rabastan Lestrange and held to keep the Ministry at bay. Lilly will be hurt if she isn’t rescued before he gets Grandpa.”

Narcissa gasped and disappeared again from her portrait. Lucius stared down at his grandson with pride. Half-breed or not, the kid had the Malfoy courage. He pretended not to remember that it was the Gryffindor’s that were known for their bravery and courage. “Go to my study, and in the blue dish above the fireplace is yellow floo powder. Take a handful of the powder, throw it into the fireplace and very clearly say, Lestrange Manor. Be very very careful that you clearly speak the words. When the fire turns green, enter the flames. Just walk into it as if it were any other room. You will come out in the living room.”

“Then what do I do? How do I know where she is?” he asked, trying to be brave.

“I would guess that he has her in one of the guest rooms. Go out of the room and down the corridor. You will find a large staircase at the end. Go up the stairs to the third floor. As far as I know that is where he would take her. Carefully and quietly search the rooms.”

Siri turned and raced down the hallway. “Thank you, Grandfather!” he shouted when he reached the painting of the cranky older relative.

“Lucius! That child is the devils spawn!” shouted his great-grandfather twice removed.

Lucius yelled out equally as loud, “Good luck, Sirius!” chuckling to himself as his grandfather threatened him.

The three men apparated to a place a half a mile down the road and cautiously walked the remaining distance. They hadn’t wanted to take the chance of the apparation pop being heard. Slowly they weaved their way in and out of all the bramble and bushes. The lawns on the estate had long since been reclaimed by nature and you couldn’t even make out the three-story manor house from the driveway, which was equally over grown.

“It’s a shame, really,” Draco whispered. “This used to be a lovely estate,” he said. “While they were in Azkaban, Mum and I used to come here to make sure that everything was kept up for them. Back then, Mum still liked Aunt Bella.”

“God’s Draco, your Aunt is the biggest sociopath I’ve ever had the misfortune to have know. She was almost worse than Voldemort!”

Draco chuckled. “She didn’t love you the way that she loved me,” he said.

Harry snorted and continued walking, trying to keep the blackberry briars from sticking to his long cloak.

“Once a upon a time, Bellatrix was really quite normal,” Arthur said. “She was in Hogwarts at the same time as Molly and I. Of course, she was a Slytherin, so I didn’t spend much time with her.”

Harry stared at him with his mouth agape. “Did you just defend her?” he asked incredulously.

Arthur blushed, muttered something under his breath and picked up his pace and quickly cleared the way ahead of Harry. Draco grinned and said, “See?”

“Bugger off!” Harry hissed.

Draco laughed and then immediately sobered when he remembered why they were there. A second later they came into view of the house. It was three stories of brick and mortar with shutters that had pealing paint hanging haphazardly from the sides of the windows. The weeds surrounded the entire house and blocked off the entire first floor of windows and doors. One door had a narrow path cleared to it proving the recent entrance to the house.

“That leads to the kitchens,” Draco whispered.

“I wish that we could see into the house and gage where everyone was at and how many occupants are there,” Arthur stated.

“There isn’t even anyway to really hide going up to the door. There are no trees to give us cover, only weeds,” Harry added.

“You should have brought your invisibility cloak,” Draco whispered.

“Shall I just pop home and retrieve it, then?” Harry asked sarcastically.

Draco glared, yanked on a side of Harry’s hair and then said, “I wonder why the wards aren’t up.”

“Are they usually?” Arthur asked.

“I haven’t been here for years, but whenever I visited with my mother, they always were.”

Arthur thought for a moment. “Perhaps their expecting us and that is why they left them down. Maybe they are expecting us to sneak into the house where they will have a trap waiting for us.”

Draco snorted. “Rabastan is not that smart,” he said.

“Maybe not him, but what about whoever he has there with him? Someone has helped him stay alive and hidden all these years.”

“I wish that I had thought to ask my father. He used to be in pretty thick with Rabastan and Rodolphus. He would know who their associates were.”

“Like he would do anything to help us,” Harry snorted.

“Alright, here’s what we need to do. I’ll go up to the door and try to sneak in. If you don’t see me wave you in within five minutes, assume that it was a trap and that I have been captured. If we do make it in the house, we’ll go from there,” Arthur said.

“Arthur, wait a minute. Let me go. If something happens to you, I don’t want to be the one to explain it to Molly,” Harry said nervously.

“No. You need to be safe for Lilly. If I don’t make it, you will still have to get to her. This way we will know if it is a trap.”

“Arthur,” Draco started.

“No!” he hissed and silently started running for the door.
