Chapter 47

Just when Molly thought she couldn’t get anymore knocked over Charlie came walking over with his girlfriend of a while, she couldn’t remember how long. He hadn’t been home in so long and they very rarely saw him anymore. It was like she didn’t know her children at all, as if the children she was looking at were strangers to her.

She girl looked good enough to meet her standards for what kind of girl Charlie needed, but they were still to far away. They were landing their dragons nearby. Many had moved outside the school to celebrate but to also start cleaning up the destruction.

“Hello Mum,” Charlie greeted.

“Hello dear. And who is this young lady?”

“Well Mum this is my girlfriend Janet.”

“Hello Janet…” Molly greeted sweetly but suddenly went deathly pale when she saw a dragon approaching.

“Janet! There you are!? I was looking for you. Oh hey Mrs. Weasley,” said a rambunctious young woman coming up beside them with Fred.

“Fred dear whose your friend?” Molly said coolly.

“You mean my girlfriend Mum, this is Bri.”

“Abrianna to be exact but you can call me Bri for short….Huh? WHAT THE FUCK!? I’m not your girlfriend, I’m not his girlfriend! I’m just a girl whose a friend from America. Harry asked me to come to help out,” Bri said literally panicking.

Janet walked to Bri took her by the shoulders and slapped her across the face to get her to calm.

Then she looked right at Bri and said, “Get over it girl your head over heels for him! Now admit and maybe we can really be sisters,” she finished as she flashed something sparkly in front of Bri’s eyes.

Once Bri got her head collected she reached for Janet’s hand making no comment on what she said about her and Fred. She needed to think that one over a bit longer. The ring was pretty simple in design but beautiful. It was a simple 18K white gold 2 Carat Leo Diamond ring. It had three big circle stones the largest in the center with two smaller on either side and a few smaller circle shaped diamonds to set the three off. It was so simply Janet that Bri had to smile. She congratulated both and then turned back to Molly and the other Weasleys.

As Molly yet again absorbed another shock and while everyone was congratulating Janet and Charlie Bri took this time to look Fred over, to think about everything that had happened ever since she met him.

And suddenly it her like one of Charlie and Janet’s coming at her full force she loved Fred. Really loved. She didn’t think she’d ever feel this way again, but she did. It wasn’t the same as with Blade it felt deeper somehow. She would never forget Blade and what they shared and Bri got the feeling Fred knew that and understood which made her love him even more. As she stood away from the group and watched she didn’t notice how Fred had moved away to come stand beside her.

“Your not mad at me are you Bri? I didn’t mean for that to come out…it’s just…”

“Its okay if its true right?” she asked with a smile.

“Yeah of course…wait what?”

“I said its okay if its true right? Its okay to say I’m your girlfriend if I am, right?”

“What? Really? You want to be…Are you sure, I don’t want to pressure you into something?”

“Yeah I’m sure but lets take our time before we do anything else big ok?”

As Fred and Bri kissed softly and held each other close Bri felt safe. A feeling she hadn’t felt for awhile and kissed Fred demanding more, but just as the kiss was getting heated they broke apart as a scream of, “You did what without telling us!? You can’t do that! It’s not right!”

As Bri came walking over she and Janet shared a look as if to say, “Will someone shut her up?”

Bri tilted her head to Janet as if to say, “Okay what is it?”

And Janet shrugged back while mouthing, “We’re married, not engaged.”

Just as quickly as the exchanged happened it was over and Janet was facing a red-faced, mad Molly Weasley.

She coolly replied as she idly stroked her dragon’s head which had come up beside her and begun nudging her lightly with its head to get attention, “Do you have a problem with this information Molly? Is it to much for you to handle or something?”

The fact that Janet was calmly talking to her as if about the weather while stroking the head of the most dangerous of all the dragons in the world as it were a common pet is what made Molly’s face go white as she fell to the ground on her butt mute for once.

All Bri could do was laugh and reply, “I have one thing to say to you Molly before you pass out or something from all the shocks you’ve had. I’m an American, I like my independence and uniqueness. If you think I’ll be a carbon copy of some fictional person you’ve created in your head for Fred’s perfect person than your S.O.L. and if you don’t know what that means, it means Shit Out of Luck. I don’t do the Stepford wife, carbon copy, do everything exactly like everyone else thing and I never will. That’s exactly why Janet and I are friends we’re like that. So, you won’t be getting an obedient daughter-in-law from her or me if that day comes. We are our own people, we have our own heads and we use them.”

With this Janet, Charlie, Fred and Bri left to see what they could do to help clean up while Ron and Luna stayed to talk to his dad while they left Molly to sit and stew over everything.
