Bringing Peace
******Deathly Hollows Spoilers***** Don’t read if you haven’t read the book yet. Or if you continue from here, don’t send me any flamers, because I did warn you!
An exhausted Harry and an elated Draco stared down at the two beautiful babies that Harry was holding. Both had dark hair and green eyes and looked like Harry. “I guess the only one who looks like you is Lilly,” Harry said smiling softly.
“I am sure that pleases you, Potter,” he said smiling back. He didn’t care whom the babies looked like as long as they were healthy.
“I love you, Draco. I love the life that we have created together and I love our family. I couldn’t have asked for more in this life than to have been loved by you,” he whispered softly with tears shinning in his eyes.
“Oh gods! Don’t get sappy on me now, Harry,” Draco cried as a lone tear trailed down his face.
Hermione watched the touching scene before her. She never would have imagined this softer side of Draco. “So boys, what have you decided for names?”
Draco grinned at his husband. “You decided, love. You had to carry them.”
Harry’s green eyes lit up in surprise and happiness. “Really?”
“Yes, really!”
Harry looked down at the two nearly identical bundles in his lap. He pointed to the first born and said, “Then this will be James Alasdair Malfoy-Potter," he said smiling lovingly at the two babies, "and this will be Severus Arthur Malfoy-Potter. I hope that by naming the boys after these two great men they can somehow find peace with each other. My father and Severus could never get along in life, but our two son's will always be the best of frineds. Arthur has been like a father to me when my own father couldn't be, and I will also rememeber all that Alasdair Moody did to help save my life, especially giving his own. .”
Draco smiled at his husband. “They are beautiful names. I am sure that Sev will be quite disgusted on the outside, but on the inside he will be elated. Of course, he will never admit it.”
“Of course not!”
“So are you going to call the godfathers to come and see their new godson’s? I know that they have been waiting on pins and needles,” Hermione said with a grin. She knew that Draco wasn’t exactly thrilled with the idea of the Weasley twins as godfathers.
“I still can’t believe that I agreed to the Weasley twins as godparents!” Draco said shaking his head.
“Let’s name Fred as Severus’ godfather and George as James’ godfather.”
“Why that way?”
“Because Fred drives Sev crazy and it will drive him nuts to have his namesake be the godson of Fred Weasley.”
Draco grinned. “You’re right. I suppose that we should put out the announcement so that everyone knows that you have delivered. I will also place the notice in the Quibbler and hopefully Lilly will contact us soon!” He bent down and kissed the soft heads of both of his son’s and then gave Harry a lingering one of the lips. He then turned and pulled Hermione into a startled hug and smiled. “Thanks, Mione, for all of your help.”
Hermione smiled. “What is family for?” she quipped.
Draco nodded. “Yes, what is family for?” he asked as he left the room.
“Oh, Harry, they are so beautiful!” she gushed picking up James and hugging him gently to her chest.
Harry grinned. “Of course they are, Mione! Did you expect anything less with Draco and I for parents?”
“You are so conceited, you arse!” she laughed. “Molly is going to be beside herself with new babies. She has been driving Luna crazy with Autumn, so I am sure that Luna will appreciate that her time will now be shared between all three babies.”
“Babies are very important to Molly. With all of the deaths from the war she sees them as hope for the future.”
“Harry Potter!” Hermione grinned. “When did you get so smart?”
Harry blushed. “Go away, Mione, you’re embarrassing me and I’m tired.”
“I’m going home to bed,” she said smiling. “Congratulations, Harry, you did good,” she said kissing his cheek.
Harry James Malfoy-Potter and Draco Lucius Potter-Malfoy
Wish to Welcome into their family
James Alastair Malfoy-Potter
And
Severus Arthur Malfoy-Potter
Born October 31, XXXX at 3:20 AM
They are warmly welcomed by their siblings, Lilly, Sirius, and Aurora
May their birth bring joy to wash away the pain this day was otherwise known for.
Harry smiled at the announcement. It was just like Draco to add something corny to it. It had been five days since the birth of the babies and they both were waiting for news of Lilly. The announcement had come out the day before and they had hoped that Lilly would have contacted them by now. The were anxious to see her and show off both her brothers, as well as Jazzy.
Between Jazzy and the twins there was never a dull moment in the manor. Babies were constantly needing to be changed, burped, and fed. Zozo and Harry spent most of their time taking care of the babies needs and Draco concentrated on Siri and enlarging their already overflowing coffers. He had a knack for making money and Harry had been pleasantly surprised when Draco first announced their monthly profits. At the rate that Draco was going the Malfoy, Potter, and Black vaults would be astronomical by the time that the children inherited.
Harry had been thinking about Siri’s prediction of combining the three houses. He knew that the three pureblood houses had been rivals for centuries and each had been notoriously guarded with their bloodlines. Now, the three houses were diluted with Harry’s Muggle blood and he couldn’t help but be pleased. He believed that for the Wizarding world to keep the peace they must learn to co-exist with the Muggle born witches and wizards. By keeping the bloodlines pure, they had only managed to produce squibs and infertile witches and wizards.
He had decided to contact their attorney and draw up the paperwork to legally change his will. Draco had already named Sirius as his heir and they had originally named Lilly as the Potter heir. He decided that he would change things to reflect what Siri had predicted. He would name James as the Potter heir and Severus as the Black heir. There was more than enough money to leave for the girls to keep them happy without leaving them a title. Lilly would never be able to keep up with all of the duties being the heir would require and he knew that she would be fine with everything being left to her brother.
Draco understood about family and the need to carry on and name an heir. He would make sure that the girls were well protected financially and never want for anything.
Harry smiled at the three sleeping babies in their cribs in the nursery. It was rare for the three of them to all sleep at the same time. He decided to take advantage of the situation and go look for his husband and other son. He was missing Siri as much as Lilly even though he saw him daily. He had not been able to spend any time with him and he was feeling like he was neglecting him.
Harry walked down the stairs and heard Siri’s high-pitched laughter mixed in with Draco’s deeper pitch. He slowly walked into the study and grinned when he saw what they were up to. They were twisted around each other playing the Muggle twister game. Siri was trying to reach the spinner without falling off of a bright red circle. Draco nudged his hip and Siri went crumbling to the floor in gales of laughter.
“Dad! You cheated!” he said laughing.
“I did not!” Draco said indignantly. “I just twisted my hip. Isn’t that the name of the game, Twister?” he said with a large grin.
“But you twisted when I was trying to spin!”
“So what are you two up to?” Harry drawled. “Draco, are you teaching Siri how to cheat?”
“Most certainly not!” he said grinning. “I am teaching him to be a Slytherin.”
Harry and Siri both rolled their eyes. “Dad! I told you that I won’t be a Slytherin or a Gryffindor!”
“I am hoping if I teach you my sneaky ways that you will change your ideas,” he said.
“Give it up, Draco. You have four other children, maybe one of them will be in the Slytherin house.”
“One can hope,” he drawled.
“Actually, none of us will be Slytherin’s, dad.”
Draco groaned. “Sometimes it is better to let someone have hope than to crush their dreams, Siri,” Draco said in resignation.
Harry laughed. “Maybe in the future, unless it is something important, you can keep your predictions to yourself?” he asked his oldest.
Siri grinned. “But Dad, it so much fun driving Dad insane with the thought that all of us will be Gryffindor’s except for me,” he said grinning.
Draco looked as if he wanted to cry. “All in Gryffindor?” he gasped.
Siri grinned. “You told me not to tell,” he said.
“Unless it was important! This is important!” he exclaimed.
“Dad,” Siri said looking at Harry, “Is this considered important?”
Harry smiled. “No, Sirius, this is not considered important.”
“Harry!” Draco growled.
“It is considered important if what you know will hurt someone if you don’t tell. If you know something and it won’t hurt anyone by keeping the information to yourself then that is what you should do. As much as it pains your father to think that all of his children will be in Gryffindor, it will not hurt him. He will still love all of them no matter what house they go to, or even if they turn out to be Squibs and don’t go to Hogwarts.”
“No child of mine will be a Squib!” Draco shuddered.
Siri grinned. “Are you sure?” he asked mischievously.
“Siri!” Harry laughed.
“Harry, I am going to kill that son of yours!” Draco said lunging at Siri with a big grin on his face.
“Help!” he giggled when his dad tickled him. “Save me, dad!” he howled in laughter.
“Hey, you deserve it! Although, your father might need a bit of tickling also,” Harry said reaching for Draco’s sides and tickling.
“Don’t you dare!” Draco yelled reaching for Harry and tickling back.
“Look, Dad!” Siri said pointing to the window where an owl waited.
The two frolicking men stopped and stared at the window. “Lilly,” Draco gasped dashing for the window.
An exhausted Harry and an elated Draco stared down at the two beautiful babies that Harry was holding. Both had dark hair and green eyes and looked like Harry. “I guess the only one who looks like you is Lilly,” Harry said smiling softly.
