=======================================================================
***Dear readers...so sorry for mis-spellings and the bad
punctuation...i need a beta...anyone interested let me know.
My spell-check is a piece of smegging...well you know!!!
I need more reviews, so please let me know what you think.
My first review said Winter was too rude, but would Malfoy
ever settle for less? *GRINS* Let me lay down a nice foundation
then maybe some smut....keep reading i\'ll keep writing.
Just be warned...this is probably gonna be a Pro-Slytherin fic,
sick of everything good *Bleh* about the Gryffindors.
I just love to shock the system....but no horse beastiality
so don\'t ask...Har Har. Shaolin*****
Chaper 5...Seperation
Winter rode along the side of the carriages, curious eyes meeting hers,
before she quickly looked away. Before she knew it, she had urged Onyx
to a slow canter watching faces go by quicker . The faces a blur now as she
urged him faster. She overtook them, passing the line of carriages and into
the middle of the path. Onyxs\' hooves echoed in her ear as the castle
approached, looming over them like a fortress. She didn\'t stop him until
the front doors were in view and she saw Dumbledore waiting looking
anxiously for the on coming hoofbeats.
\"Woah!\" Winter pulled back hard and Onyx planted his hooves into the
gravel and slid, right into an awaiting Professor. He was tall, with searing
dark eyes and shaggy black hair, which looked in the need of a good washing.
Convinced she had done it on purpose, Professor Snape looked up and
began to berade her coldly, \"Excuse yourself, Miss VaShawn! Not to mention this..this..horse.\"
Snape made it sound like her familiar was offending to his very nature.
Trying to look through her and establish that dominating hold he took
over his other students, but he could not break that thin barrier within
her mind. It was like it wasn\'t there at all.
She had met Snape once already, a brief meeting in Dumbledores
office after she was pre-sorted into Slytherin house, and then had
learned he was Head of House. She had spent a week over the summer
getting to know the castle and spending her time studying and catching
private lessons from her future teachers.
He had been cold then also, not knowing how to read the girl. She was
different, too old to be thrown into the wizarding world, but to powerful
to remain. If they could only unleash what she possessed, she could be
a great asset. If they went wrong, she could be the downfall of all they knew.
Snape carried his thoughts a second longer, before straightening himself
and offering her a hand down. `Can\'t let my personal feelings get in the
way\', he thought.`It was a mistake of Dumbledore demanding to bring her
here.\'
She was a risk here and a risk away from here. There was nowhere for
the wretched girl, whose temper was only matched by his own, only
Hogwarts. Safe within the dungeon. He cringed at the thought again of
her being down there. He only could view her as a challenge, and a
very strange one at that.
Winter reluctantly took his hand as she jumped down from the massive
frame. Only too well noticing where Snape\'s eyes had been as she had
come down. Lingering on her legs before she swished the riding cloak in
front of her.
\'Fucking pervert\', she thought.`Been in the dungeon for too long.\'
Snape was a strange man though, he never seemed to miss catching
her eye. Always pushing her with his mental power, she could feel it. Is
she the only one, or did anyone else know about how he manipulated
with his mind?
\"Good evening, Professor Snape.\" Winter had to force it out without a
hint of disgust. She barely made it. \"Ah yes sir,\" she spat her words at
him. \"I do so apologize for the actions of my *horse*,\" trying to sound
like him when he had said it, \"After all, sir, he\'s only an animal.\" Winter
smiled slowly as she began to pull off her leather riding gloves, slowly as
if to tease him, \"But in the end my dear Professor, aren\'t we all?\"
Snape sneered at her with contempt in his eyes. He began to reply,
when Hagrid suddenly appeared smiling and lumbering towards them with
the first years in tow. It had been a short trip across the lake, a little
rough from the look of the cold and frightened first years. Hagrid turned
them over to Professor Magonagall and then turned his attention to the
pair of them.
\"Alright there, Winter?\" Hagrid had reached for her companions reins,
and she turned him over with great hesitance. Feeling as though Hagrid
was taking her best friend, the only one besides herself she cared about
in this wretched place.
\"Ok, Hagrid please be careful, he\'s a smite nervous with new people.\" She
cringed as she let the black leather go.
\"No worries there, Miss. I\'ll take good care of him and you can come
see him before your care of magical creatures lesson.\" Hagrid smiled and
winked her way, but she was already beginning to feel his loss.
Her heart simply broke as he was led off towards the nearly forgotten
stable, which had been remodeled and made like new again. She could
only watch Hagrids large frame and hear his hoofbeats as they got
farther away. Then the air shattering call of fear from Onyx that almost
drove her to her knees, he wanted to know where she was, why his
mistress wasn\'t there. Winter could only try to pull herself together.
They were bonded in a way that no one here would understand. It just
didn\'t happen everyday when a witch chooses a near-sized war horse as
her familiar, or one that chooses the witch.
\"Miss VaShawn,\" Snape brought her gaze away from the now empty
path. His voice irratated and starting to strain from trying to hold his
tongue. \"Are you indeed ready to move inside? You will be needed soon
in the Great Hall.\"
\"Yes sir,\" the sir came out like a hiss. \"I believe I could use some...\"
She looked at the rest of the students now arriving and flooding in to the
castle. \"Entertainment,\" she finished.
Snape was sure something glimmered in her eye, but it had to be
some sort of reflection from the horrid abominations
that hung from different parts of her face. He shuddered for
once in a long time, he smelled it. Oh yes, trouble.
