Trying To Forget

A/N: Hey guys just thought id answer a question my beta had, and no doubt if you read the story so far is probably going through your mind. Why is Ginny in there classroom. Simple answer, i needed Ginny in that grade, why? So the story would work. It\'s a fan fic so i can do it:P Ginny is very smart, and prooved she could go up a level. Why not Hermione? Hermione is smarter than Ginny? Yes but Hermione also is adicted to studying...Ginny isn\'t:P

A/N: Hey guys, to all my readers out there, thanks for taking the time to read, please do tell me what you think of how the story is going. I\'m sorry it took me so long to update i dont really have an excuse...busy i guess...oh and reading...so yeah here ya go...

Lucifer: Well i see your name discribes you well. I must tell you you canott count, you had one word for me yet i counted at least twenty. I think you have a problem...i like to see you write this...Oh and why appologise when you obviously feel no sympathy for your actions at all. Do you really think, just for your sake, that Harry and Ron, or anyone for that matter, would broadcast over the school what they were doing? Common sence can figure that one out. Oh and about Ginny, i did it, you cant stop me, so really u just have to deal:P

Ok on with the show:P Read & Review people:P It takes a second and makes me feel better:)

-------------------

Hermione was now assigned to the room next to Snape’s for her protection. He had saved her life and she was grateful for this. The two weeks after the attack, they had yet to speak to each other with him always ignoring her. During his classes, he was as intimidating as ever, but he had saved her life and she saw him as her hero. The silence between them was confusing for Hermione because she should have been angry or hurt, but instead she was developing feelings for the Potions Master. She was well aware of what these feelings were and she tried to resist them, but it was useless. She was falling in love with Professor Snape and this was a big no-no. She didn’t know what to do. The only friends she had ever had that she could confide into had raped her and left her for dead. She was ready to give up hope when she remembered Ginny. Ginny had been a loyal and supportive friend to her.

Severus Snape was having complications of his own. After he had saved her, for the second time, he was sure she was going to kiss him, but he left just in time, not wanting to face up to the thought that he wanted to her her. Hermione was no girl anymore, she may not have been the prettiest thing on the earth, but she was gorgeous never the less. Her knowledge and intelligence had always caught his attention and over the past year, she was beginning to capture his heart. These thoughts plagued his mind for days on end, never leaving him, driving him to the point of insanity.

It was two weeks after the attack and a find morning. Hermione arrived at class characteristically exuberant. She was happy today because she had decided that she was going to tell Ginny everything. She would finally have some one to talk to about thoughts and feelings. Then she realised she would have to put her fragile happiness on hold. She was going to double potions this morning. Bloody Hell, Hermione swore mentally. She wanted to see him, with all her heart, but she didn’t think she could put up with his classes a second longer.

When they took their seats, Hermione had made Ginny sit next to her, in the front row. When Snape came in, Hermione was amused at the mixed look of pure terror and excitement on his face. When the lesson began and Snape began to drawl on about the dangers of potions, like he had so many times before, Hermione turned to Ginny and whispered, “He’s pretty hot isn’t he.” Ginny turned to Hermione, wide-eyed and open-mouthed. Did she really just say-? Oh My Gods. Although Ginny remained shocked, she chose to close her mouth, mainly to stop any incomprehensible high-pitched sounds from escaping.

Hermione’s joy, however, was shorted lived. As soon as they began to prepare a potion to stop the affects of a short strain of the common flu, which seemed easy enough, the insults began to fly…

“Mr. Malfoy, please leave the girls alone, they will not sleep with you!”
“Mr. Potter, leave Mr. Weasley’s ears alone, they do not need your assistance.”
“Mr. Weasley put your wand up here, now.”
“Miss. Cross leave Mr. Malfoy alone, it should disgust you to think about sleeping with him.”

Finally Snape reached Neville and Hermione, she had been muttering several instructions to him for several minutes, only stopping to hear her heart beat faster when he approached. Ginny was several feet away and could not help her, and Neville, well, she didn’t even think about him being an option if something were to happen.

Hermione did not have long to dwell on these thoughts. They were interrupted by a loud shout. “Miss. Granger, why are you helping Mr. Longbottom again when I explicetedly told you not to. He is doing just fine screwing up his potion without your help!”

After this comment Neville has shrunken down to a small quivering mass of fear, but Hermione was sick of it. She wasn’t going to let this continue. “Oh shut up! You have absolutely no right to criticise him like that. He is trying his best. I’m surprised he hasn’t passed out from all the worry you’ve given him. Maybe, if you helped him instead of telling him he’s stupid, he might improve!” Hermione was all out of patience. She didn’t care anymore. She wasn’t going to stand by and watch her friends be emotionally abused, even if it was the man she loved. No. Hermione thought. You CANT think like that.

By now all of the class had frozen, half-scared to death, half intrigued as to what Snape was going to do. No one had ever spoken to him like that. Snape however seemed to be rather uncharacteristically taken aback by her outburst. He spoke dangerously quietly. “Miss Granger, you have a detention, my dungeons, eight o’clock.”

Hermione knew this meant he was angry, she didn’t think she had ever seen him so angry as to speak that quietly. It was not good news. However, she did not care wether she had just received a million detentions, she wasn’t going to see Nee fae fail because of him. She knew he had what it took to succeed.

Hermione suddenly felt depressed and ran out of the classroom, waiting for the tears to fall. She had never spoken so harshly to anyone, let alone a teacher. At this point Hermione knew she loved him, and she could not help it. Hermione walked up to her room, tears finally streaming down her face; she felt helpless. She didn’t understand why she felt this way about him. She decided she would fix the situation the way she had grown accustomed to. Unfortunately for Hermione her room was right next to Snape’s, and in turn right next to the dungeons.
