“Harry” she whispered. Harry was too busy with Ron to look at her. “Harry!” she insisted. “What?” he asked. “That’s Katie” she said and she nodded her head in the direction of the girl. Katie had been cursed weeks ago by a necklace she had been given in the three broomsticks. The necklace was to be delivered to professor Dumbledore but it never made it there. Harry had been dying to figure out who gave her the necklace. Harry’s eyes grew big and he got up to talk to Katie. Hermione followed him with her eyes. They talked for a couple of minutes, then something else peaked Hermione’s attention. Draco Malfoy walked into the great hall. He immediately looked at Harry and Katie and Hermione saw the frightened look in his eyes as his eyes met Harry’s. Draco stormed out of the great hall, Harry on his tail. Hermione jumped up and ran behind the two boys as fast as she could. She was blocked by a group of first years. She pushed past them. But it seemed to take for eve! She cursed at the firstyears, which was a first. She felt like something very bad was going to happen and she had to catch up to them before it did. She ran as fast as her feet could carry her, stumbling in the corridors. Looking for the two boys. A feeling of immense fear had overtaken her head.

She had been running for minutes, until she finally heard glass shattering and things breaking in the bathroom. Her heart sank. Hermione ran towards the noise. She threw the doors open and saw that the entire bathroom had been flooded and there were shards of wood and sink on the floor. Her eyes searched the room and she found Draco. He had noticed her presence and turned his head to look at her, his eyes meeting hers. It was only a second and the next Draco flew back as a curse hit him. Hermione yelled his name. The boy landed on his back in the water, gasping. Hermione looked at the spellcaster, Harry. He looked as shocked as she did. Hermione ran to Draco’s side and fell on her knees next to him. “Draco” she whispered. He looked at her, the pain written on his face. His shirt was stained with blood, the water turned red. Hermione pressed her hands on his chest in an attempt to stop the bleeding. “Do something!” she yelled to Harry, tears streaming down her face. Harry shook his head. Draco grabbed her hand and he looked at her for help. “It’s going to be okay” she lied. His hand touched her cheek and she laid hers over his, closing her eyes. He was bleeding out, it wouldn’t be long now. In this very moment, Draco Malfoy would die. His eyes closed as he lost consciousness. Hermione was screaming for help. Suddenly, Snape ran in, looked at both boys and Hermione and rushed to Malfoys side. He started whispering a charm. Vulnera Sanentur. Over and over again. It was as if the blood was sucked back into Draco’s body. Snape picked Draco up and carried him out, leaving Hermione sobbing in the bathroom. Her clothes still stained with the blood of Draco Malfoy. “What did you do Harry” she whispered. Harry grabbed her hands and pulled her up. “I don’t know, it was a spell from the book, Sectum Sempera” he said. “I’m sorry” he whispered.
“You need to get rid of that book, Harry, it’s dangerous” She stated. He nodded.
“I’m going to the hospitalwing” she said.
“Hermione , Malfoy is dangerous! He hexed Katie!” he yelled.
“Did she tell you that?” she asked.
“No, but you saw him!” he said.
“I don’t care Harry, I’m going to make sure he’s okay” she said before turning around and walking away.

Hermione sat next to the bed of Draco Malfoy. He still looked pale, almost as white as his hair. She looked the part herself. Her white blouse was stained with blood, as was her face. Professor Snape had suggested she cleaned up first, but she blatantly refused.  She felt like this was where she was supposed to be. Madame Pomfrey had told Hermione that Draco had lost a lot of blood and that he was still very weak. The next couple of hours would be critical. If he made it though and he woke up, he would be fine. So Hermione was determined to stay by his side for the rest of the day, until he woke up. Dumbledore had stopped by. He looked surprised to see Hermione sitting next to the bed, but he hadn’t asked her to leave. Instead he had reassured her that he would take care of homework and classes.
Hermione grabbed Draco’s hand. “I’m so sorry” she whispered. “I’m so sorry Harry did this to you, and I’m so sorry I wasn’t there to stop him in time” she pressed her forehead against his cold hand. “Please wake up” she sobbed. Hermione opened her eyes and saw black ink on Draco’s arm. He was shirtless, it was the first time she was consciously aware of that. She slowly turned his arm and her eyes grew wide. On his arm was the very thing she feared the most would be there. The thing that meant that he was no longer just Draco Malfoy, but he was another thing entirely. She let her eyes run over the dark mark until she reached his face. His eyes were open and he was staring straight at her. They just stared at eachother for a moment, not saying anything. He was sure that her mind was working overtime by now. He started to whisper “Hermione, I” but he never got to finish his sentence as she stormed out of the room.
