I Need To Know!
“Oh yeah, Narcissa, because hitting him is going to wake him up!” Malice said as she paced back and forth, biting her lip before deciding to worry her thumb nail with her teeth, not tearing the nail off. This wasn't happening, this seriously wasn't happening. Severus was not here, he was not passed out and laying on her bed to recover. What the hell was going on? Yeah she gave him a Portkey, but what made him use it so soon? She thought she would have a few more days at least. Now wasn't the time to freak out, though, she supposed. Sitting down on the bed next to him, she brushed his hair away from his face again and pursed her lips together in worry.
“I'm not saying it would wake him up, not really... I just want to hit him before he wakes up as payback for something. If it wakes him up, that's just a plus.” The Medi-Witch giggled but didn't follow up with her words as she watched her friend look to Severus lovingly, smiling softly before pulling away from the male's arm. “He's fine, by the way. He just seems a bit stressed and his magical register is taking its toll.” Malice nodded at her friend's words and got up from the bed, following Narcissa out of the bedroom to let the man on her bed rest.
“Why did you freak out so much, Godmother?” Draco had come up and was waiting by the door as that was his Godfather that had just fainted before all of them. Malice smiled sadly and then looked at the Golden Trio before huffing, running her hands through her hair before motioning her Namesake to sit down. The blonde sat down next to Harry and looked to his Godmother expectantly.
“Where to begin. Well, as I told you before; or at least I think I did; vampires and dragons have mates. S.... Severus is mine, that is why I have the bites from Nagini and he is perfectly fine. It is also why I have to take that purple potion four times a day as, since I have gone so long without being with my mate, I am fighting insanity. Usually dragon or vampire insanity is enough to kill an unmated creature, but I have both, so if I don't keep it in check, I will kill myself and take whoever is around me with me. I have given up on having Severus as my mate, as he denied me before our last year of Hogwarts when he returned that necklace he's wearing now. Only reason he has it back is because I had made it into a Portkey for if he ever wanted or needed to come see you or your parents. I didn't think he'd use it so soon, though and was hoping for some type of warning.” Malice sighed and pinched at the bridge of her nose, biting at the inside of her lip before she heard someone clearing their throat, looking up and seeing that the person who was wanting to speak was Hermione.
“Does he know? I think if he knew, maybe he would return your feelings sooner or later. I feel that Professor Snape does need someone. I also personally feel that he deserves someone after all he's been through, and you as well. If you keep denying yourself your mate, you could kill yourself.” Hermione looked worried before Narcissa decided to butt in, clearing her throat.
“Not to mention it would kill him, too.” The Medi-Witch sighed and leaned against the door, getting curious looks from all of them, but she didn't say another word. Malice groaned at this, popping her jaw and standing up before thinking to herself as she headed into the kitchen.
“It doesn't matter. He has always loved someone else and I know those feelings have not left.” With that, Malice excused herself, putting on her glamour and walking outside. She needed time to think, and let alone the fact that her mate was so close to her and there was nothing she could do, it was tearing her up inside. Looking up at the sky, seeing that the day was slowly turning into night, she didn't hear someone following her until a hand touched her shoulder. She jumped and pulled out her wand, only to be faced with Draco, causing her to sigh heavily and put her wand down. “Draco, don't do that!” Malice growled out before turning and walking ahead of him, making him catch up quickly as he needed to speak to her.
“I'm sorry, Godmother. I had a question as I don't feel something is right.” Draco muttered, looking a bit shy and couldn't look his Godmother in the eyes with the embarrassment that his question held. He didn't like it when he felt like he didn't know anything about himself, and that was how he was feeling. What was wrong with him and why did he feel awkward around someone. He couldn't even pin-point who was making him feel like he was, but it started happening today and he was hoping his Godmother would have answers for him.
“What is it, Namesake?” He heard her voice break through his thoughts and he smiled at her. He didn't know why, but he enjoyed being called such things from her. It was a personal nickname between the two of them and he hadn't had something like that in a long time.
“Is there anyway I may have a mate? I felt weird earlier today when the three came. Is it possible I took attributes of your curse when I became your blood adopted?” Draco muttered, looking around them and realizing they were almost right out of Hogsmede, blinking softly. “We've been right outside the school grounds this whole time?” He whispered, tilting his head and it caused his Godmother to laugh a little.
“Yes, we have. You didn't realize that when you were running about trying to find a place to hide? Oh well, as for your other questions, it isn't unheard of as it is my bloodline that holds the curse, but I doubt you have both as you don't seem to have a thirst for blood. If you were feeling weird though when those three came along, then obviously you have something from my heritage. I wouldn't be surprised at all as I did smell something between you and someone in there. I can't tell, but one day I might. In case you are something, and I can already guess what has already happened with you. I just need to speak to your mother about it. Now, don't freak out about it, we had already guessed something like this would happen.” Malice put an arm over her Godson's shoulders and lead them the way around the perimeter of Hogsmede.
It took them about twenty minutes to finally get back, both of them speaking of dragon abilities and how Draco might have said abilities. They even discussed dragon transformation and how sometimes it has been known for the first transformation that people have gotten stuck. Malice even shared about how during her first transformation, she was stuck for three months as a dragon. Draco couldn't help but chuckle at the fact and then wondered if he would be able to turn into a dragon. Malice had told him that she thought it a bit unlikely, but at the same time, his magic could allow it.
When they walked inside, Malice almost wanted to turn around and run, her eyes wide as they landed on the last person she thought she would see. She had taken her glamour off outside the door, and almost wanted to put it back on, yet he was right there, black eyes looking on her form as if they couldn't believe who was standing right in front of their vision. Malice was shifting uncomfortably, biting her bottom lip before going and biting at her tongue ring to make it not so obvious that she was nervous with Snape's eyes on her. He was just sitting there, in her chair, wondering if what he was seeing was actually real, but yet she could tell with the recognition that was coming into those obsidian orbs that he was seeing her for being where she is, that it was really her.
“Well, we're back and I'm guessing we should be getting dinner ready...” Malice said, clearing her throat, breaking the trance Severus seemed to have on her. She smiled softly, bowing her head a bit as she walked away and went into the kitchen, Narcissa and Hermione following her to help her with dinner while the men stayed in the parlor, Lucius trying to get Severus to speak with him, sometimes getting bland answers as the Potions Master tried to get his wits about him again, while Harry, Ron and Draco spoke about everything that had happened the past few years between them.
Once dinner was made, Malice extended the table and transfigured some items into extra chairs for people to enjoy sitting in. Clearing her throat as she wiped her hands on her hips, she announced dinner for all of them to come into the dining area to eat. When Severus walked up to pass her, she looked down at the floor before walking to the table and sitting down at the head of it. Narcissa sat to her left and then that left Severus to her right as the children were sitting further away. She almost wanted to curse herself to feel ill, but stopped herself.
“W.. well dig in, everyone. Don't be shy, it's all for you.” Malice muttered as she motioned to the food, letting people dig in as she waited. Once peoples plates were full did she summon her own, sighing as she picked at it, sometimes taking conversation with Narcissa. All in all, she guessed it wasn't that bad as Severus didn't seem to have interest in her, as usual, yet she swore she could tell that he was looking to her from time to time. She was beginning to relax until she heard someone clear their throat, realizing that was starting to be a habit for people getting attention here, but she looked like a deer in headlights when her blue orbs landed on Severus.
“Where have you been?” His deep voice filled the room and he looked to her as his hand clutched at his fork before he dropped it to form a fist, as if he was irritated. “And why, why haven't you looked for me?” Everyone looked shocked at this question and Malice almost thought she heard things, but the look in those obsidian orbs was telling her she had heard right.
