Chapter Five: Where did I go wrong?

It had been a week and a day since the night in which Hermione had the nightmare and Draco began to wonder what his feelings truly were for his witch. His witch.. In every sense of the word but one.

Draco couldn't understand what was making him hold back, something twisted inside of him every time he thought of hurting her now. Was it because of the damage someone had caused her? Was it because she made him feel funny in places he didn't know existed? He didn't know but what he did know was he was starting to enjoy spending time with Hermione Granger.

Draco sat in the Heads common room and looked at his journal and began to write, as he did he pondered everything that was happening. He wondered just in a short week how he no longer hated her.

How a week had changed everything and how a week now he hadn't spoken to her because she wouldn't speak to him... He fucked up majorly but he didn't know why..

Hermione sat up as she heard the explosion and looked at Draco who was pointing to the clock that now seemed to have become pieces.

“Honestly you can't get up and shut it off like any normal human being? It's just an alarm clock Draco!”

Hermione exclaimed as she looked at him horrified a moment but Draco to his defense didn't have the faintest idea what an alarm clock was and he didn't feel sorry that it blew up either. He looked back at her levelly and raised an eyebrow.

“What the hell is an alarm clock Hermione? I mean I get the idea but how was I to know what it was? It could have been something trying to get in here and..Why are you laughing?”

He asked as he looked at her and she was now laughing as she shook her head, she just couldn't help herself as she for a moment grabbed her middle and she almost fell off the bed as Draco looked at her curiously.

“So it's something I wouldn't understand because it's muggle is that it? I didn't say it was stupid Hermione! Did you assume I wasn't seriously curious it's cute I guess the yellow thing with the lightning bolt tail.. is it a rat or something?”

He asked as Hermione walked over to him and for a moment she just looked at him then down to the alarm clock and she shook her head. As she did she felt herself feeling a bit warm and fuzzy inside. He really was interested in a Pikachu.

“It's well, it was a show on the telly.Also they have these games you play in what is called a game boy, it's a video game and you play it and those little monsters fight each other. It's a mouse I believe and it shoots out electric bolts of energy. I have a game boy but it won't work here because of all the magic, but basically it's a game that kids play.”

Hermione felt her cheeks grow warm as she looked back up at him to gauge his reaction. Draco was just still looking at the alarm clock and asked quietly after a few moments.

“Will you show me? If you can get this Game boy thing to work? Will you show me how to play?”

Hermione found herself beaming and bit her tongue as she was close to laughing again but this time in real happiness. She went to her trunk and she picked up her Game boy and she smiled as she taped it with her wand a moment and tried to get it to work at least for a moment so he would understand.

To her utter surprise,it worked and the game she loaded was Pokemon Crystal as Draco sat down and she was telling him and showing him how to battle the other Pokemon and he kept trying, at first he thought she was right it was stupid but then he won a battle and he got excited and actually to Hermione's amazement jumped up and down as he won.
