Control, part B

Part B, for those of you that care. :)

****************************************************

"Moony, talk to me."

"No."

"Come on. Tell me about that thing I read earlier. You know you want to."

"No."

"Please?"

Remus expelled a puff of frustrated air, ran his fingers through his hair, and span around, glaring at his friend. After the Prefects' meeting, Sirius had started hounding him, following him everywhere. He hadn't shut up either, begging and pleading for Remus to tell him about the mating thing he had seen, something Remus refused to talk about. Remus didn't want to talk about it, and Sirius instinctively knew that the subject was important, and that he had to be told. For the millionth time that day, Remus cursed his luck and wondered when the gods were going to smite him.

"Moony, mate, come on. I can help you." Sirius swallowed, and Remus' gaze shot to the boys' throat, entranced as his Adam's apple bobbed up and down.

The funny thing was that he could help him. All that Remus had to do was tell him, and then this whole fiasco would be over, and he could go back to being... normal. As normal as a gay werewolf could be, anyway. He had a sick feeling that, mate or not, he would still desperately want Sirius, and that the feelings of lust wouldn't go away simply because the bond was broken. Before he could censure his thoughts, he was speaking.

"Actually, Sirius, you can help me." He grabbed Sirius' arm, glanced around, dragged the other boy into an empty classroom, and spelled the door locked. He drew in a deep breath and closed his eyes. Here goes....

"Do you recall that lesson in DADA, back from fourth year, when we learned about werewolves?"

"Yes. What about it?"

"We were told that the concept of mating was a myth, and that it wasn't possible."

"I remember, Moony. What's your point?"

"It... It's not a myth. I... Moony... has chosen a mate."

Silence. Sirius held still, his grey eyes ridiculously wide.

"What?" Sirius breathed, skin pale.

Remus cleared his throat, embarrassed.

"I... It just happened, Padfoot. I had no control over it." He sank into a chair and buried his head in his hands. He heard footsteps, and assumed that Sirius was leaving. When the noise came closer instead of farther away, he raised his head and peaked through his fingers, watching as Sirius sat across from him, a thoughtful look on his pale features.

"This happened around the time that you started ignoring me." It wasn't a question, but he nodded anyway. "The person Moony chose... It's me, isn't it?"

Remus dropped his head again, and suddenly felt close to tears. When a gentle hand grasped his chin and lifted his head, he let it, too drained to protest.

"Remus. The Fates are not on your side." Sirius smiled at him and removed his hand, his fingers almost caressing Remus' face.

He gave a shaky laugh.

"I've been thinking the same thing for weeks. Sirius. We can break this... thing. All that you have to do is reject it. Tell me no. Tell me that you don't accept Moony's claim."

************************

Of all of things that he had expected, this wasn't even on his list. Subconsciously, he had known that it was something like this, and that it was serious. No pun intended. He found himself next to Remus without recalling how he had gotten there, and was touching the other boy's face. The skin under his fingers was slightly rough, and abrasive. He found that he liked it, and let go before that thought could process. He couldn't help but gently caress the skin as he removed his hand, and ignored the fissure of desire that sparked in his belly.

"Tell me that you don't accept Moony's claim."

Sirius opened his mouth, more than willing to reject the werewolf, but the words refused to leave his throat.

"Sirius? Tell me." The other boy sounded panicked, as if his life depended on Sirius' decision.

He wanted to say no. He did.

Then why am I hesitating? I'm not gay. I like birds. I fucking love birds. Then why...

"I... I need to think, Moony."

"WHAT!? There is nothing to think about. Say no, dammit. SAY IT!"

Remus was standing now, towering over the Animagus. His face was red with anger, his fists clenched tightly against his sides. Sirius shook his head and remained seating. He wasn't sure why he didn't just say no. He didn't want to cause Remus pain, but something inside him didn't want to say no. After realizing that it was him Remus wanted, something akin to a bouncy child had stood up and started clapping like a retarded chimpanzee. He blushed, ashamed by his thoughts. Suddenly, the connection that he had shared with Remus since the beginning of their friendship made sense. The obedience, the way Moony had complete power over Padfoot during the full moon. All of it made perfect sense.

"Sirius. Padfoot. Please, tell me no. I've been fighting this for ages, and I'm fucking tired of it. I'm fed up with the constant arousal, jealousy, and possessive tendencies. End my suffering, dammit."

Sirius stood up and wrapped his arms around himself, shaking his head. Remus cocked his head to the side, confused.

"I want to, Moony, I really do. But..."

"But?"

Here goes...

"I accept."

His declaration was met with stunned silence. When Remus spoke, his voice was choked and deep.

"You...accept? Sirius, do you know what this means? For fuck's sake, Padfoot. I want you. Moony wants you. I want to fuck you. Claim you. Own you. Right now, at this very moment, I want to pull you into my arms and ravish your mouth. If you accept... I...We..."

Sirius swallowed, shook his head, and backed away, overwhelmed. Remus' amber eyes were now dark brown, almost black, and the need, the desire that radiated from those beautiful orbs mesmerized him. He should leave, should say no, but he suddenly found himself walking toward the hungry werewolf in front of him. Yes, he liked girls. No, he didn't like boys. It was Remus that he wanted, that he had always wanted but had never realized it. Just as he was nearing the other boy, someone pounded on the classroom door. Sirius jumped back, breathing heavily.

"Who's in there? Peeves, if that's you, I'm going to fetch the Bloody Baron. Open this door, now!" Filch's voice penetrated the fog that surrounded his brain and he quickly whispered a cloaking spell, watching as Remus did the same, and then heard the other boy release the spell that kept the door closed . The door was burst open, and Filch stood there, panting, with Mrs. Norris behind him.

Sirius flew out of the room, squeezing around the groundskeeper and his pet. He ran, not knowing his destination. The only thing he knew was that he had to escape, and he had to do it now.
