On My List

Sorry this is so short, everyone.

My friends wonder why I call you all the time,

What can I say?

I don't feel the need to give such secrets away

You think maybe I need help though I know i am right, all right

I'm just better off not listening to friends advice

“Well, you’re back early,” Severus smirked. “I take it she didn’t bite you again since you aren’t bleeding.”

“No,” Lucius said with a long suffering sigh. “She merely vomited on me then passed out cold. I’ve heard of having a woman fall into your arms. But I’ve never had it happen quite so literally until tonight.”

The spirit of Severus Snape stared at his friend for a moment before his shoulders began shaking with laughter. He tried to muffle the chuckles temporarily but gave up fairly quickly. He surrendered to the hilarity of the entire situation and laughed until, had he been alive, tears would have been rolling down his face and his sides would have been hurting for days.

“Severus, have you perchance heard the expression “silent as the grave”?” Lucius asked, casting a sour glance at his friend.

“Naturally.”

“Then why aren’t you?”

“Because I find myself thoroughly enjoying my afterlife by torturing you. Please tell me you didn’t molest her while she was unconscious.”

“Hardly. What kind of pervert do you think I am?”

The look Severus gave him clearly stated he didn’t find that question worthy of answering. He didn’t have to think about what kind of pervert his friend was, he already knew.

“Oh, come now, surely even you can’t be delusional enough to believe she’d be taken over by your questionable charms when she’s ill,” the ghost scoffed.

Lucius snorted. “I am not delusional and my charms are not questionable,” he said peevishly.

“Perhaps not to most women but I rather think Miss Granger is questioning them. Often and quite vehemently. Honestly, Lucius, why bother? There are thousands of other witches out there clamoring for your attention. Why chase after the one you’d be least likely to catch.”

“Ah, but have you forgotten, Severus? The chase is what’s the most fun.”

“So, you’re toying with her? I can’t wait until she hexes you into oblivion when she finds that out.”

“I am not toying with her,” Lucius growled.

“Fine. Why this sudden obsession with Miss Granger then?”

“It’s hardly sudden,” Lucius said. “I couldn't very well pursue her when she was just a child. Even I’m not that depraved.”

“Since when, you degenerate?”

“I have my perversions, like any other man. However, pedophilia isn’t one of them.”

“So, you waited until she was an adult. Why wait five years after the first initial move, though?”

“That wasn’t my intention. It was simply how things worked out. First there was the fact that Narcissa and I were still married at the time.”

“Though you were involved in the most vicious and nasty divorce in wizarding history.”

Lucius nodded. “True enough. Second, she needed time to get over the Weasley he whore.”

Severus rolled his eyes toward the ceiling. “Who would have ever guessed him capable of hiding his affairs from that woman?”

“Certainly not I.”

“True. Exactly when did you get the absurd notion to try seducing her with muggle magick? And why?”

Lucius simply smiled and said, “After New Years it was on my list.”

Snape somehow knew he wasn’t getting anything else out of him.

When they insist on knowing my bliss,

I tell them this

When they want to know what the reason is

I only smile when I lie, then I tell them why

An hour later, Snape had given up talking any sense into his friend’s astoundingly thick head and had left. Lucius sighed with relief and settled himself onto his bed. He reached into his night stand and pulled out an ornately carved box. Carefully lifting the lid from it he removed the little doll of Hermione. He sat looking at it for a long time, thinking of the actual woman the doll had been modeled from. He closed his eyes and thought he could almost feel her lips against his.

He held on a little more tightly to the doll and said,

“Kiss me, Hermione Granger, kiss me.

Greet me with your lips and tell me that you missed me.

But most of all, just kiss me.”

Because your kiss, your kiss is on my list

Because your kiss, your kiss is on my list

Because your kiss is on my list of the best things in life

Mad Ramblings aka Author’s Notes

The song used in this chapter is Your Kiss Is On My List by Hall and Oates. If you’re under thirty you’ve probably never heard the song.

The kiss me spell is probably one of the first things a teenage girl learns when she starts dabbling in love spells. It’s been around for as long as I can remember.

I know this part will probably be ignored but here goes anyway. In reference to love spells, just don’t. They tend to backfire BADLY and you could end up with a stalker or worse. I’m just sayin’.
