Chapter Five
Hi! I just wanted to thank one and all who have taken the time to review. It means the world to me.
Larrabee- I know I need a beta reader like crazy mad. More times than not I think my writing is ready for the light of day, when it's no where close. Thanks for the heads up, but one thing. The correction using "putting" rather than "pulling". If I had used that word, it would have been wrong as she was "pulling" the lotion from the medicine cabinet. There is also the use of the word "put" later on in the sentence and using the word "putting" would have felt redundant. Thank you so much for your help. Please keep reading and reviewing. You're keeping me on my toes!

Chapter Five
Sirius arrived with a bottle of fire whiskey the day after the full moon, thinking that he would need it. What he found amazed him. Remus was lying down with his head in Hermione’s lap. She was sleeping with her hand over his heart. Remus was holding onto it as if it were his lifeline. This wasn’t so odd in itself, but it looked like they had been exactly that way since the night before.
Remus’s eyes snapped open, his eyes guarded until he saw that it was his old friend. Relaxing he sat up as best as he could, but it was slow in going. Turning he saw that Hermione was still there and still very much asleep.
Pulling her into his arms, he held her as he said, “What are you doing here, Sirius? I would have thought you would have found a way to cause the most trouble where you were.”
Laughing Sirius said, “I’ve been doing my best, but it is nothing compared to the Werewolves’ Liberation Front. And it would seem, my friend, you are their current poster boy.”
“What?” He snagged the paper from him. “Did Hermione know anything about this?”
“No,” Sirius said shaking his head. “She was all for getting one and all out with no muss or fuss. This, Remus, is both.”
Hermione woke then, blinking sleepily into her lover’s eyes.
“Did you do this?” he asked, handing her the paper.
She took it from them and read it over. “It was more than likely Fleur.”
Both the men looked at her in shock. “How is it you know this?” Remus asked her as she stood up, stretching.
“The Werewolves’ Liberation Front is an off shoot of the Avant de Libération de Loups-garous. No one knows how long the organization has been around for as they supposedly formed around the same time as the French Revolution. There were so many witches and wizards with their hands full keeping their heads attached that keeping track of the group seemed unimportant.” She sat back looking at the paper. “Fleur was less than happy about the divorce. The little slut wanted the separation, but still remain married. After that she was trying to get at anyone she could.”
“And you would know this because?” Remus purred.
“For some odd reason she thought I was his mate,” she said, sounding puzzled. “I personally have never felt anything for him other than a deep fraternal affection.”
Remus turned her face towards his so that they were nose to nose. “And what is it that you feel for me?”
“Silly question,” she muttered.
“Well?” he insisted.
“Everything but that, as if you didn’t know.” She got up. “Silly man. I’m going to get the bake out of the oven. Obviously you need brain food if that’s the kind of question you can come up with about how I feel about you!”
Sirius was fighting from laughing out loud. The moment she stepped out of the room, he roared with laughter, gaining a glare from Remus. Sirius went over to his friend, throwing his arm over his shoulder.
“The woman cares for you,” he said. “She’s cared for you for a long time now. And the only reason why I am saying anything about it now is because it’s clear that Hermione was right in calling you a silly man.” He poured himself a fire whiskey. “Shit. If I had a woman look at me the way she has you for as long as she has been…” He downed the drink and finished what he was saying in a hoarse voice, “Well, it just goes to prove even those with very active senses can miss a lot.”
Hermione set out the breakfast and was about to call them over to eat when Remus walked over.
“Do you love me?” he asked her.
“Yes,” she answered, but then called over to Sirius. “Fire whiskey isn’t a part of a nutritional breakfast! Eat some of the egg, potato, and ham bake!”
“Have you loved me for a long time?”
She looked over to him and said, “I’ve loved you since Merlin was a child. Seeing you healthy after a night of a full moon fills me with relief. Seeing you happy and smiling, makes my heart skip a beat. Seeing you with Tonks had me so blasted jealous I couldn’t see straight. Is that what you wanted to hear?” She went on her tiptoes and kissed his mouth lightly. “Now eat some breakfast before Sirius eats it all.”
He caught her in a hug, holding her tightly. A moment later he kissed her temple, murmuring, “I would be lost without you. I love you, my own.”

Harry decided that it was long past time to visit Hermione and Remus. He had heard from the others that they had grown close over the months that they had been there in the wilds of Canada. He found Hermione greeted him with a smile and a hug, pulling him into the cabin.
“Remus! Harry is here!” Hermione called out. “So how have you been?”
“Good,” he answered. “I’ve been checking on everyone. I’m sorry I’m so late in coming to visit.” He blushed. “I forgot about the time difference.”
“Harry!” Remus came over and hugged him. “How have you been?”
“I’ve been well,” he answered. “I came here to check on you and to tell you about some news. There’s a chance that the werewolf law may be repealed. We are doing everything in our power to make it so, but it might be slow going.”
Hermione slid up to Remus, hugging him, saying, “Let’s hope for the best.”
Remus turned to her and said, “Whatever the case we have got to go back…”
“No!” Hermione and Harry both exclaimed.
“Hermione, I will not have you without medical care!” His hand slid to her lower belly, pressing against the curve. “Will you please just consider going to London with Harry so you could go to a mediwitch?”
“I can’t,” she told him. “I’m a fugitive just as much if not more than you. I released well over one hundred werewolves. I’m not going to be well liked over there.”
“Are you saying that Hermione is…?” Harry started and sat down hard. “She’s pregnant?”
“Very much so,” Remus said with pride.
“Okay,” the younger wizard said, standing up. “I think I know what to do. I’ll be back.”
Before they knew it, he was gone. They looked to each other and shrugged. Ten minutes later he was back, but he wasn’t alone. With him was none other than Molly Weasley, as well as Poppy Pomfrey. Molly brought with her a large basket of food and Poppy her healing bag. Poppy gave her an examination and indeed found out that Hermione was pregnant. She gave her several months’ worth of prenatal potions as well as the name of a very reliable local mediwitch nearer by than she.
“She’s in excellent health,” Poppy told Remus, who looked very relieved. “But if you two need me for anything, you know I’ll come running.”
Molly had made them what felt like a years worth of food, telling her that she had to rest as she had more than herself to think about. They left, taking Harry with them who told them he would be back as soon as he could. Left alone again, Remus scooped up his mate and took her over to the bed.
“What do you want to name him or her?” she asked as he set her down on her feet and began to strip her.
“Anything not related to wolves,” he murmured, nuzzling her neck.
“Excellent! I want something to do with cats.” He went still for a moment before she began to giggle.
“Very funny, my kitten,” he growled playfully and pulled her down to the bed.
