Malfoy Manor
Ron and Lavender stood in front of a beautiful mansion house with well decorated lawns and a fabulous set of albino peacocks running through the back gardens that seemed to go on forever. At any other moment, Lavender might have been tempted to find out who lived there and whether they were single or not, but at this very moment, her and Ron were struggling to move the lifeless corpse that used to be Hermione. Ron looked around anxiously, hoping that no one had seen or heard them aparate to where they were. Spying a large trash compactor in front of the house, Ron suddenly got an idea.
“Here, give her to me.” Ron whispered sharply, taking the corpse away from Lavender and cradling it in his arms. “Go and hold open the trash compactor. We will throw her in there. A rich family like this probably incinerates their garbage without even looking to see what it is.”
Lavender looked at the trash compactor and then at Hermione’s body. There was no doubt in her mind that Hermione was dead, but at the same time, it seemed a little wrong to toss her body in a trash compactor. She valued human life, but with the current situation, her life was more important than any dead ex-wife. She agreed and ran to the trash compactor, opening it quickly as Ron followed close behind. He tossed her body in and attempted to bury it under several cardboard boxes that were already in the trash bin. After all, he didn’t want them to find her body when they went to throw the trash away.
“RON!” Lavender suddenly hissed, pulling him by the arm behind the trash compactor, just in time to hear the front door open and a tall, dark haired woman haul suitcase after suitcase out of the house. There was a man standing behind her in the doorway and both of them were yelling.
“Sarai! I gave you half of the Estate’s value in cash! I am probably the most generous man you will ever fucking meet!” The man’s voice yelled as the woman whom he had referred to as Sarai threw a sixth suitcase out of the front door. She turned and looked at the open door fuming with anger, her dark eyes very cross and her posture stiff and protective.
“Generous?! Generous my ass! You won’t even let me have rights to see my son!”
“He is not your son!”
“He is so my son! I fucking gave birth to him! Nine months and fifteen hours of labor! What the hell did you do? Watch?” The woman was irate, but a small blast sent her down the stairs and plopped her safely, but painfully on her ass. She glared up at the man who was still leaning on the doorway. Ron tried to see what the man looked like, but he was too far in the doorway for him to see.
“Listen Sarai. This is how the game works. You go fucking around with my friends, literally, and I am going to file for divorce.” The man lectured.
“But…You didn’t even…”
“No Sarai,” The man cut her off, continuing the lecture. “We had just had a baby, I was willing to give you a second chance, after all. People gave me a second chance.”
“Now that isn’t fair, you gave me a chance in a half!” Sarai rebutted standing to her feet and stamping the ground angrily. Again, the man cut her off.
“Ha! I said explicitly, if you sleep with one more person other than your husband, I will divorce you.”
“And I heard you, but I missed the ‘your’ part. I just thought you said husband. Blaise was married!”
“Sarai, he is my best friend. You went behind my back to fuck my best friend and while you two were frolicking in the bedroom, you obviously forgot that you let Scorpius out of the crib…” But his wife cut him off.
“Now wait a minute, you are not going to bring that back up now are you?!” Sarai was horrified, but the man continued.
“Fucking my best friend in our marital bed while our two year old is drowning in the toilet!” The man by this point was yelling.
Sarai had started crying and tried to get to the door to get beck in the house, but the stronger wizard kept her from getting anywhere near the stairs.
“It isn’t fair! I was confused! I was under the imperious curse. How was I supposed to know that Scorpius was out?!” Her defense was very unjust and the tone of the man’s voice dropped dramatically into a sinister hiss.
“Listen Sarai. I have been more than cooperative. I have given you half of my Estate…”
“But…”
“Despite the fact that in the prenuptial it says that you only get a fourth of my Estate! I have given you half, I have given you alimony and I have at least let the court grant you visitation rights!”
“Why can’t I have joint custody. He is my baby too! I have the right to be his mother! What kind of a demon are you?!”
I AM THE KIND OF MAN WHO WANTS TO PROTECT HIS SON FROM HIS MOTHER!!! YOU ALMOST KILLED HIM BECAUSE YOU FORGOT ABOUT HIM, YOU LEFT THE BATHROOM DOOR OPEN, YOU WERE FUCKING IN THE BEDROOM WHILE HE WAS DROWNING! DO YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ALMOST LET HAPPEN SARAI?!! HE ALMOST DIED BECAUSE YOU ARE A NEGLECTFUL MOTHER! NOW TELL ME, WHY SHOULD I LET YOU HAVE ANY RIGHT TO SEE HIM AT ALL! IN FACT, I AM BEING MORE THAN GENEROUS TO LET YOU EVEN VISIT HIM.”
The man had resorted to yelling at the top of his lungs and shooting spells that made all of Sarai’s suitcases compact into one big case for her to carry. She was sobbing and shaking, begging him to let her see the baby, but the man would not let up on his refusal. From the way Lavender heard it, she agreed with him. She started to yell out her anger at the woman and Ron threw his hand over her mouth rather violently to silence her. Thankfully, the couple were to busy yelling and arguing to notice the sudden noise of two people huddling behind their trash compactor. After several very loud shouts, the man slammed the door, leaving his wife pounding on the barrier in between her and the stairs. After a while she got tired and yelled one last time. She drew her wand, conjured the bag into her hand and turned to face the door.
“THIS ISN’T OVER WITH DRACO!!!!!” And with that, she disapparated.
Ron and Lavender stood very still, trying not to breathe or make any sign what-so-ever. After a while, they felt the coast was clear and Ron uncapped Lavender’s mouth. They stared at each other for a moment before Ron broke the silence.
“DRACO?!” Ron whispered in a very angered tone. “Like Draco Malfoy?!” He ran his fingers through his hair, turning away from Lavender and cracking his neck.
“I didn’t know! I just looked for an area sixty miles away from where we were! How was I supposed to know this was Malfoy’s house?!” Lavender whispered back, just as freaked out. What were they going to do? If Draco found Hermione’s body, it would be clear that she had been dumped and Ron would be the first one Draco would suspect. Lavender was distressed. “We need to get her out and take her somewhere else before Draco finds her body!“
Suddenly, Ron got a brilliant idea.
“Listen, It is obvious that Hermione was abused, right?” Lavender nodded, “So that means someone had to have killed her! Draco has a rap sheet several pages long, not to mention his hatred of Hermione ever since Hogwarts. Do you see where I am going with this?”
Lavender nodded and the two of them took one last look at the house before disaparating back to Ron’s house sixty miles away, leaving Hermione’s corpse to rot in Draco Malfoy’s trashcan.
*~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~*
Draco slammed the door and locked it, leaning backwards against it and running his fingers through his long wavy blonde hair. He rubbed his temples and listened as his ex-wife, Sarai Lumberton made her last exclamation of “THIS IS NOT OVER.” Draco smirked slightly and walked away toward the living room where his two year old son, Scorpius Hyperion was sleeping for the first time in almost six hours. He could not believe that she even tried to get full custody of the child. After he came home to find his son virtually dead in the toilet bowl and his wife, completely unaware, drunk and naked in the bed with his best friend Blaise Zambini, Draco was a little less than open to the idea that she was ever going to see the child again. Being the good-hearted man he was, he divorced Sarai, keeping the news of his son’s near death a secret from the press, and making sure that Sarai would never see the child again. Yeah, he had told her she was allowed visitation rights, however, the court gave him full permission to reject her right to visitation. Thank God his father had taught him everything he knew before he died.
Draco leaned against the living room doorway and watched his son with more joy than he could imagine. Not only was Scorpius his heir, his only son and the child he would leave the Malfoy name and Estate with, Draco had become quite accustomed to the little toddler and didn’t want anything to happen to him. Thankfully, his mother had returned early from her holiday in France to help him take care of her grandson. Draco knew being a single father was going to be difficult, but knowing that Scorpius was alive was the only thing that mattered to Draco right now. The small child had given everyone quite a scare. With help from lots of Healers at St. Mungo’s, they were able to revive him and within a few weeks he was back to normal. Draco was more thankful than he could say and made a very significant donation to the hospital in honor of his son.
While watching Scorpius sleep, Draco noticed the pictures. Pictures of him and Sarai holding the baby, holidays in exotic locations and more pictures with her in them. He suddenly raged and started throwing the pictures on the ground, shattering their frames and causing a sudden alarm to his house-elf Mikali. Mikali rushed in horrified and immediately started cleaning up the mess as soon as his master had created it. After a while, Draco ceased his furious outburst and smoothed his hair. Noticing that the mess he had just made was cleaned up made him smile.
“Mikali, will you take the trash to the compactor. I feel like this rubbish shouldn’t be in the house. It might contaminate my mind.” With that Mikali nodded and raced outside with the bag of ruined picture frames. Draco sat down on the couch gently and gazed back at Scorpius. Sleeping like a baby. The silence was incredible. For the first time in a long while, Draco felt perfectly calm and secure.
“MASTER DRACO!” Mikali’s squeaky voice yelled as he popped into the room. His wrinkled face was pale and he looked terrified. Draco jumped from his seat, waking Scorpius from his nap and stared at the house-elf.
“WHAT?!?!?!?!”
“THERE IS A DEAD WOMAN IN THE TRASH!!!”
With that exclamation, Draco and Mikali ran out to the trash compactor, leaving the screaming infant inside. When Draco got to the compactor, he nearly vomited at what he saw. There, hastily buried under cardboard boxes he had thrown out yesterday, was the body of a brunette woman. He stared at her and immediately told Mikali to call the healers.
Staring at the body, Draco noticed a small necklace around her neck. On it were the initials HJG. And that’s when Draco realized. This wasn’t just some dead woman. This was Hermione.
Hermione Granger’s dead body was discarded in his trash.
Draco reached in a pulled the limp body out and dropped it to the ground. That’s when he noticed something strange.
She wasn’t dead.
“Here, give her to me.” Ron whispered sharply, taking the corpse away from Lavender and cradling it in his arms. “Go and hold open the trash compactor. We will throw her in there. A rich family like this probably incinerates their garbage without even looking to see what it is.”
