Rebirth of Merlin

{GODRIC'S HOLLOW JULY 31,1981}


Lilly & Lucas were getting the last minute arrangements for the boy's birthday pary. When James and Jamie walked in with the cake, Lilly asked her husband to bring home.

" Thank you James." Replied Lilly without looking up from making finger sandwiches.

" Your welcome Lil's. Jamie and I will be outside until the party." James remarked as he and Jamie turned from the kitchen.

Lucas was in his levitated chair watching his mother and James talk.(Never had he thought James his father) He loved his chair that his mother charmed to work on his magic and command. So after the two left he moved it to the cake.

"Lucas-angel don't touch the cake baby." Lilly stated absently as she continued with her work.

Lucas didn't reply he was looking at the cake and was getting angry as the cake didn't have his name on it just Jamie's. So he decided to ask his mother. " Why is my name not on the cake too Mother!" Lucas demanded with anger.

Lilly was taken aback with Lucas's words. Normally he was very kind with his demands of her. " Lucas your name should be on the cake."

"Well it not!" he said eyes filling up with tears as his lower lip trembled.

Lilly saw the look on his face and looked upon the cake. Sure enough Lucas's name was not there beside Jamie's and that made her see red. Grabbing Lucas from his chair she went outside with him in her arms to find her 'husband'.

" James why is Jamie's name the only one on the cake!" Lilly snarled with anger.

James gulped as he felt her magic flare in anger. Just because he couldn't stand the boy didn't mean he wanted to face Lilly's wrath, so he tried to calm her saying that the cake shop must have made a mistake.

Lilly snorted at his obvious lie and stormed back into the house with Lucas clinging on her hip. Once inside she grabbed some floo powder and yelled " Hogwart's Headmaster's Office, Password: Lemon Drops" thinking if James wanted to be nasty then she would play dirty. She wasn't a Slytherin for nothing.

Albus was sitting at his desk finishing the wrapping on the new magic channeling quartz crystal for Lucas when his floo came to life. He watched as Lilly step out with Lucas clinging to her hip.

Lucas coughed as they exited and wiggled to get down. When his mother did as bid, he trotted over to Albus raising his arms to be picked up by the man.

Once in his lap Lucas looked around in awe of the little trinkets in the room. Oh but he knew not to touch. His little bottom still stug from his Mama's spanking him for breaking her grandmother's vase this morning.

" Lilly what brings you here today of all day's child?" Albus asked warmly as Lucas snuggled further into his lap.

" James was suppose to get the cake for the boy's party. Well he brought one home. The only problem was Lucas's name wasn't on it just Jaime's. When I confronted him, he lied saying the shop had made a mistake." Lilly replied her voice raising with each word.

Albus closed his eyes. He knew this would happen, James had been pushing Lilly and Lucas away from months. And for the life of him he couldn't figure it out. James and his parents had forcefully made Lilly marry him. But he just didn't spend anytime with Lucas. Lilly loved her children, Albus knew that. James only had eyes for his heir. " Lilly,
I can't tell James what to do. Believe me I've voiced my opinion on his actions earlier this month. However what if I have the Hogwart's elves make a nice cake just for Lucas in the shape of the castle and bring it with me later."

Lilly sighed in relief. She was going to asked that because there was no time to have one ordered now. Out of the corner of her eye she saw Lucas looking toward the window and had to giggle. She then noticed Fawkes was not in the office. "Albus where's Fawkes?"

Before he could reply, Lucas began to bounce lightly and point to the window saying light over and over again. Confusing Albus with his antics. " Yes Lucas it's light outside."


Fawkes was hiding by the window when Hogwart's alerted him of the child's presence. And know he was noticing the child getting aggrivated as the adults couldn't understand what he was meaning. So with a flash of light he appeared at the edge of Albus's desk.

At that moment Lucas nodded and pointing at Fawkes said "Light". Causing Lilly's jaw to drop in shock. She hadn't known Fawkes was in the office and from the look on Albus's face he didn't either.

When Albus was about to ask Lucas what he meant. The boy had crawled upon his desk mocing toward Fawkes. Raising his hand to stall Lilly from moving they watched the scene.

As Lucas had gotten close enough he grabbed Fawkes quickly,but with care. Fawkes didn't move. Usually if a child came in he stayed hidden until they were gone. This was the first for Albus as he watched in confusion. That was until Lucas stated firmly " MINE,
My Light." Hugging Fawkes with care. Which Fawkes began trilling in agreement as he fully bonded with the boy.

" Oh, Merlin Albus, I'm sorry I didn't know he'd do that."

Albus however was just grinning. " No Lilly, not Oh Merlin. But Merlin reborn. I had my suspesion's after Jamie had been here. But Fawkes just confirmed it."

" Lucas, my Lucas is Merlin reborn. The one of the prophecy?" Lilly asked with a shaky voice.

" Sadly yes, which means Lilly you need to keep this a secret. Not even James must know.
Voldemort will be coming after Lucas and you need to make sure you live Lilly. Because if you do not I fear for the second half of the prophecy." Remarked Albus gravely. He knew James wanted his heir to be Merlin reborn, but that was not to be.

" There's more isn't there?" Lilly whimpered as she looked at him with fear. A fear for her child not herself.

Lucas feeling his mother's turmiol he had Fawkes flash him to the floor so he could get to his mother.

" Yes and after Lucas's birthday and before school begins in September I want you both to come here. So that you can review the prophecy. Just you Lilly and Lucas if you want that's all no one else."

" What about James? Surely he should know as well." Lilly whispered, she was drained now and still had a party to host.

" James still believes that Jamie is the Merlin reborn. And with his actions in the past I feel it safer to keep him in the dark. You understand Lilly?" Albus explained sternly at her nod he told her to go home and get ready for the party they'd discuss this later.

" Lucas is Fawkes coming?" Lilly asked as she deposited him back on her hip.

Lucas shook his head no and said. " Light will stay with Gandpa Alby 'til ready." Then yawned snuggling into her body for alittle nap.

"See you at six Albus." Lilly remarked before entering the floo heading home.

Fawkes watched his pheonix child leave. The mother held a secret for the child carried no Potter blood. There was also small glamours on the child.

< Albus, the child has glamours in place.> Fawkes telepathicaly remarked.

" Why would she do that Fawkes unless she's covering up abuse." Albus said grimly, hoping he was wrong.

< Because you foolish old coot. The child has no Potter blood. His her son alright. But a Potter he is not>

"WHAT!" bellowed Albus as he looked sharply at his companion.

< Did nobody ever wonder why the child was so small at it's birth.(Fawkes was laughing in a trill) He was early. Lord Potter must know something, if his actions toward the child are anything to go by.>

" Lilly did say that James changed after he returned from Gringotts in late January. And I have noticed the change around that time as well. Do you assume the Goblins would inform James of this?"

< Yes, The Child of Light-reborn of Merlin belongs to another.>

" Lilly was one of the women that were kidnapped by deatheaters that time right after she announced she was two months pregnant. We never had gotten a straight answer from her only she was fine. So the child is a deatheater's son. But which one?" Albus spoke out loud to his companion while he was trying to collect his thoughts. The more he thought the more worried he became. James would hurt the child soon if he knew of the boy's parentage. And the second half of the prophecy would begin.

Fawkes taking pity on his companion said < The child of light belongs to the heir of Slytherin and Ravenclaw.>

At that Albus stood quickly and raced to the floo calling out " Snape Manor" disappearing in green flames.

{SNAPE MANOR}

Albus exited the floo and welled for an elf. When said elf appeared he demanded it find the Lord of the Manor and bring him before him.

Severus Snape was just finishing a potion for the Hospital when his head elf popped in and stated there was an old man in the parlor with crazy robes demanding his audience.
Before popping away again.

" What did I do for this honor Albus?" sneared Severus as he entered his parlor.

" Why didn't you tell me you were the one that raped Lilly!" Albus grimly stated.

Severus's eyes widen briefly before they narrowed again. " Lilly wanted it to remain a secret until she felt it was right. Because she was already pregnant with the Potter spawn."

" Well she did give bith to James's heir. However she gave birth to another as well." Albus sighed as he conjured a large comfortable chair and sat.

Severus was shaking his head in denial. " She would have told me. I didn't rape her, she knew who I was and told me since we didn't get the chance to marry. Then she wanted me to love her and I did."

Albus had to close his eyes. He remembered the day Severus proposed to Lilly. Then right before graduation James stole her through a forced betrothal contract. It almost destroyed Severus and Lilly. Not two days later Severus took Voldemort's mark.

" Severus where's the Snape Family Tree?"

Severus said nothing he just walked out motioning for Albus to follow. On the fourth floor a Emerald/Onyx door stood at the end. " If we go down there and I open the door and your wrong. I will hurt you for putting me through this Albus." Severus stated with a voice of ice.

Albus didn't respond, he knew that if he was wrong Severus could destroy him. The man had alot of knowledge that other's didn't. And Albus didn't think he would even stop him.

Once the door was open they entered. Severus pointed to the part of the wall his names was on and stood back allowing Albus to look. Understanding his hesitation, Albus approached the Tree and looked under Severus's name and there it was:

Mother: Lilly Anne Potter nee Rockwood(Evans?)

"Severus get over here now!" yelled Albus as he looked at the names in front of him.

Severus raced over to Albus and followed his finger to where he was pointing. And right under his name was another. All he could think was ' I have a son'.

"Snap out of it Severus. We need to do some planning and research if we're to get Lilly and Lucas away from James. And why is there a question mark beside Potter?"

"Because his last name on the paperwork was Potter. However the hospital would have taken blood for Gringotts. And since he wasn't a Potter by blood, I need to go there and fix it by formally stating Lucas is mine." Severus explained calmly.

Albus knew getting Lilly & Lucas away from James would be difficult. So he informed Severus that he would make sure to help make it happen.
