Chapter 5

Hey all! Thank you for the lovely reviews. I’m sorry that I haven’t updated is so long. I just recently got back from working abroad for the summer where my internet access was severely limited. So for those of you who have been waiting patiently for the next chapter, here you go!

Disclaimer: I do not own Naruto, nor do I own Harry Potter, I am making no money from this.

Itachi made his way swiftly through the Uchiha compound towards his parents’ house, paying little attention to the clan members around him. Conscious of the soft warm weight at his chest that was Harii.

He slipped silently into his room, entering via the window to avoid his mother. Gently he set Harii on his bed, before making his way quietly to the door to check the coast was clear. When he was sure everyone was downstairs he turned back to Harii.

“It’s alright to change back now.”

Itachi watched the liquid transformation between cat and boy again, marvelling at the change. Harii was beautiful, slightly flushed and tousled from the transformation, sitting there on Itachi’s bed . . . After a minute he realise that he was staring and abruptly turned away.

“I’ll go get you some clothes then.”

Itachi quickly left his room and made is way along the corridor to the spare room at far end, where his mother kept all his old clothes, waiting for Sasuke to grow into them. He was rummaging through a big, slightly dusty, chest for some appropriately sized civilian clothes when he heard running footsteps.

Sasuke ran into the room, visibly shaking, and slammed the door behind him. His eyes flew about the room before landing on Itachi. He flung himself at Itachi babbling something unintelligible. Itachi after catching him, and soothingly stroking his back to calm him down, held Sasuke by the shoulders firmly.

“What is it?”

Sasuke seemed to be calm enough to answer coherently.

“There’s an intruder in your room, I went in there to see if you would help me practice again and there was a weird man.”

Itachi rolled his eyes, well he supposed, he had been intending to introduce Harii to Sasuke. However before he got a chance to reassure Sasuke that it was okay, he was rambling on again.

“I hit him with my kunai like you taught me, but I don’t think he’s dead yet.”

Itachi’s blood ran cold.

Faster that seemed possible Itachi had pushed Sasuke aside, ran out of the room and along the corridor. He slammed open the door to his own room, making the walls shake.

Harii was laying on the floor at the foot of his bed, sprawled out on his stomach, a deep red patch rapidly spreading out from around his chest. Itachi flung himself at Harii sweeping him up in his arms and quickly depositing him on his back on the bed, before ripping his shirt open to see the damage. A deep gouge ran from Harii’s left collar bone to just below his right nipple, across the centre of his chest. It was liberally gushing bright red blood.

Tearing a pillow case from one of his pillows Itachi pressed the clean material firmly on the wound trying to staunch the blood flow. He ran his mind over all of the rudimentary healing he knew. None of it would help him now; this sort of wound was well out of his ability to deal with. He tried to ignore the sickening feeling in his stomach and the cold little voice in his head that was pointing out Harii’s ashen colour and the way that the blood was already flowing less, not due to any help Itachi was giving, but due to there not being enough blood left to be pumped out at such a force.

‘It is a fatal wound.’ The icy voice told him.

“No it’s not.” Itachi gasped putting more pressure on the wound. “I just found him, he can’t die.”

‘His lifeblood is spilling on your hands; did you really think you deserved him?”

“He can’t die. I won’t let him.”

Itachi felt Harii’s heart begin to stutter and fade under his hands. With an anguished yell Itachi drew up his chakra and thrust it into Harii’s body, desperate, willing it to save him, but in vain. He felt his chakra disperse and Harii’s heart stop.

There felt like there was a gaping hole in Itachi’s own heart. He had failed. Harii was dead. Killed in Itachi’s own house.

Itachi turned away, tears searing at his eyes, unable to look at the broken, frail body of the one person who could have saved him. He drew a kunai. If he couldn’t live with his soul’s intended, then he would die along side him.

He was just about to thrust the Kunai into his stomach when a wave of power throbbed through the room. Turning, Itachi gasped and stared in amazement. Harry was glowing and an invisible wind moving his hair and clothes. The wound on his chest was shining a bright white and getting visibly smaller. It closed all the way leaving only a small silver scar. Bright emerald eyes drifted open to look at Itachi from that radiant face.

“Don’t you dare think about killing yourself Itachi Uchiha. I would never forgive such a waste of life.”

Itachi cringed, Harii’s voice, amplified by the magic, seemed like that of a deity. Both beautiful and terrible, like the chiming of many bells or a voice lost in a storm.

With a final surge of power everything in the room became still. The blood on the floor and bed vanished as if it had never been there. The light emitting from Harii’s skin faded and a rosy glow returned to his pale cheeks. His eyes were once again closed, but this time in a healing sleep. The only thing that proved the last twenty minutes had happened was the faint scar on Harii’s chest and the tremors running through Itachi caused by chakra exhaustion.

Itachi, unaware or uncaring of his mother’s and brother’s presence in the door way, slid in next to his mate. He pulled the bed covers up over them before wrapping himself around Harii and succumbing to exhaustion.

Mikoto stood in the doorway looking shell shocked. She had heard her son’s heart wrenching scream and ran, without thought, to find out what was wrong. Arriving just in time to see the petite boy on the bed begin to glow. The scene she witnessed after was amazing. Though, she wondered wryly to herself, after she had crept over to the bed to make sure both boys were okay, how she was going to tell her husband that Itachi wasn’t going to be marrying any girl at all.

Well she would have to cross that bridge went she came to it. Then with all the calmness and sense that bring up two boys gave a mother, she turned to her youngest son. Sasuke was very pale and have streams of tears running down his face. She steered him out of the room and towards the kitchen.

“Well,” Mikoto said in a kind but firm voice, “Why don’t I make a cup of tea, and you can tell me how much you know about what’s going on.”

Thank you for reading. Sorry it’s such a short chapter. But I wanted to get it uploaded today and it brought itself to a natural sort of break. I will be updating again soon, and hopefully next time will be able to have the first meeting between Harry and Naruto as well as some slashy goodness with Itachi.

So until next time. Please review as it encourages me to update! ^^.

Lintila xx.
