Xander shuffled into Angel’s small kitchen and plopped down on a chair by the table. “I feel bloated.”

“Here. Dry toast.” Cordelia placed a small plate of dark toast slices in front of Xander and sat down across from him.

Xander looked at the toast distastefully but took a bite anyway; his stomach lurched as he chewed. He didn’t want to piss Cordelia off especially when she was looking at him so closely. Xander swallowed thickly. “So will this doctor be able to tell me how this all happened?”

Angel shrugged. “Possibly. She’s a sithrue demon, they can sense magic and life auras.”

“Can’t wait to meet her.” After another bite of burnt toast Xander stood up. “Ok then, let’s go talk to the demon doctor.”

**
“I think we should leave.” Xander said nervously as he looked at all the demons sitting in the large waiting room.

Doyle awkwardly patted Xander on the shoulder. “It’s not that bad. They’re jus waiting to see the doc too.” Doyle pointed at a round blue colored mucus covered humanoid lizard demon with white bubble-like sores on its skin as they walked by. “She’s pregnant too, each white pocket is a baby demon.”

Xander stayed far away from her, she looked ready to blow.

Xander, Cordy, and Doyle sat down in the hard plastic chairs and Angel went to tell the orange girl sitting at the desk that they were here. The orange girl handed Angel some papers and paged a Dr. Bell. “Here. They need to put you on file incase you come back.”

Xander looked the papers over. It had the normal questions like ‘What’s your mother’s maiden name?’ or ‘Are you allergic to any medication?’ but it also had some far out questions like ‘Where you born, spawned, hatched, or grown? Do you have any horns or barbs we should be aware of? Do holy objects, fazes of the moon, or sun light effect you negatively?’. As he answered question Xander tried not to have a little freak out session. ‘I’m in a room surrounded by eight demons, three vampires(not including Angel), and a zombie!’

Xander watched wide eyed as the zombie shuffled by and sat across from them. The smell hit Xander like getting hit with a brick. Reaching for the tiny trash can Xander puked up his toast. Cordy was at his side in a second rubbing his back and glaring at the rubbery skinned dirt covered suit wearing zombie. Doyle stood up and walked over to the smelly fellow a plastic smile on his face. “Hey, Tim! Long time no see. How are you?”

Tim the zombie tilted his head toward Doyle making the flesh on one cheek flap and smiled. “Doyle! I’m good, just got in a little car crash.” The zombie pointed at his road burned side and shredded flesh. “I’m also here for my injections, you know for the smell.”

Doyle nodded. “Right, right. About the smell old boyo, do you think you could move to the other side of the room? My friend behind me has a wee-bit of a sensitive stomach.”

Tim looked behind Doyle and nodded. “Sure. I know I smell a bit ripe before me shots. Hope your tasty looking friend feels better.” With that said the zombie shuffled to the other side of the rectangular room.

Doyle sat back down and smiled at the gang. “Tim’s a nice guy as long as he’s not hungry. Real good at poker.”

Xander lifted his head out of the trash can and wiped his mouth on his sleeve. “Did he call me tasty?”

Doyle patted Xander on the shoulder. “Don’t worry the hospital is warded neutral ground. He can’t eat you here.”

“Why does that not make me feel better?” Xander said as he looked around him at all the hungry eyes. Xander looked over at Angel who was having a stare down with a yellow skinned demon with tiny black eyes, a large flat nose, and an almost invisible mouth. “Angel? Why are you eye fucking that demon?”

Angel didn’t answer but his mouth tightened with annoyance. Doyle looked. “Oh, that’s a . . . a well I can’t remember its name but it’s a vampire eater.” Doyle gave Angel a sly look. “It’s the vampire boogeyman next to the slayer, there are only about a hundred of them left on the whole planet. Every eight years they gorge on vampire flesh, swallowing many nest in a single munch frenzy night. Completely harmless to humans.”

Xander looked the demon over with a little awe in his eyes. The almost featureless demon tilted its head and smiled its mouth making a sound like a popped seam as it showed off thousands of needle sharp teeth. It literally smiled ear to ear. Xander and Angel both shuddered.

“Harris, Alexander? The doctor is ready to see you.” An almost human looking nurse with glowing reptile eyes showed them into a medium sized exam room. “The doctor will be with you in just a moment.” The nurse held out a paper gown to Xander and pointed at a screened off part of the room. “After you get undress just hop up on the table.”

Xander put it on but grimaced at the airy feel of it. Xander just got comfortable on the table when the doctor stepped in holding a chart. Her blue skin sparkled and shifted various shades from midnight to aqua to sky blue, her hair was the color of blood and thick like vines, and her eyes were like clear glass balls of colored smoke. Dr. Bell’s frame was willowy and stretched out, she towered over the group before her by a least a foot. She radiated calm. “Hello.” Placing a long fingered hand on Xander’s shoulder she smiled. “Let’s have a look at you. Lay down please.”

Dr. Bell moved like she had forever, she moved carefully like she was moving through water. She moved her hands over Xander and every once in a while she would still and her hands would hover and changed color rapidly. Angel, Doyle, and Cordelia watched and shifted anxiously. “Well?” Angel asked.

Dr. Bell’s pointed ears twitched and she smiled as she looked down at Xander. “Where you aware of the great magic you possess?”

“What?” Xander sat up and shook his head. “No! I’m not a witch, I’m the normal one of my group!”

Cordy snorted. “Yeah, as normal as a pregnant man can be.”

Dr. Bell gracefully shrugged. “There are three magical signatures in your body young Alexander. The strongest one is your own, it was dormant for a long time but has been awakened by the second and third signatures. The second is the young one within you, it grows stronger with every beat of its heart. The third is a residue. This residue is the reason you are pregnant but it is not the energy of the other parent. Very strange.” Placing a blanket over Xander’s legs to keep his lower half covered she pull up the gown uncovering his slightly curved belly.

Xander watched her like a hawk. “What are you doing?” He asked as she started pacing a clear gel on his stomach.

“So protective and the child’s not even born yet.” Dr. Bell chuckled. “It’s just a special lubricate I made for ultrasounds. Less mess and it’s good from you skin.” With a practiced stroke she covered Xander’s belly in the stuff and brought the wand up to his belly and moved it about. As soon as the wand touched his skin they could hear a strong but fast heart beat, it echoed in the room and made everyone still.

“Wow. It’s fast.” Xander said with awe.

“It’s very normal I assure you. Now I just need a good picture. There. Look at the monitor.” Dr. Bell tilted a monitor toward Xander and the group with him. “You’re about thirteen weeks along.”

Xander wasn’t really listening to the doctor as soon as he looked at the little TV monitor he was transfixed with the image on it. The tiny moving limbs, the strong beating heart, and the small humanoid shape became his whole world in that moment. They all watched the little mouth open and close and watched small legs kick. “Oh, wow.” Xander swallowed fearfully. Knowing and seeing were two different things and it all just smacked Xander right in the face, he was going to have a baby! ‘Man I’m such a freak, definitely not normal no more.’ Xander didn’t want to but he had to ask, he didn’t want to be the one to bring about next big evil! “S-so it’s ok? It’s human?”

Dr. Bell smiled. “As human as you are and very healthy. A very healthy little boy.”

Cordelia sniffed. “I would have proffered a girl to dress up but a boy is good too. As his godmother I will make sure he dresses like a normal person instead of a clown reject.” Cordy smiled. “I’m a godmother.”

Xander blinked. ‘I wonder if I should tell her I was only joking.’

Cordy tugged on Angel’s shirt and pointed proudly at the monitor, the baby was sucking his thumb. “That’s my god-baby, isn’t he so smart?”

Xander smiled. ‘No, maybe I wasn’t joking.’

Walking down the cobbled roads Headmaster Dumbledore decided to pay a friendly visit to the Weasely family. Just to say a friendly hello. Knocking lightly on the door Dumbledore chuckled at the sound of many little feet racing to open it. Panting for breath little Charlie Weasely opened the door and smiled brightly at the purple robed headmaster. “`Ello professor! Please come in, dad is out back and mum’s in the kitchen.”

Following the small parade of redheads Albus was lead to the kitchen where Molly Weasley was making supper. “Oh! Hello, Professor Dumbledore! How nice of you to visit.” Molly smiled.

Dumbledore smiled back. “I just came to drop off a gift for you.” Dumbledore handed Mrs. Weasley a small blue parcel.

Gently she took it and unwrapped it. She gasped. “Oh it is lovely. How did you know I was expecting again? We only just found out yesterday!” Mrs. Weasley cuddled the soft red and gold blanket to her chest and smiled.

“A little bird told me.”

“I’m so happy about this one! I love my sweet boys to death but this pregnancy is special.”

Dumbledore grinned brightly his eyes twinkling. “Oh? Why is that my dear?”

“It’s a girl! The mid-witch did the magical scan and confirmed what I already hoped!” If Mrs. Weasley wasn’t so caught up in her excitement of having a daughter finally she would have notice Dumbledore’s eyes stop twinkling.

‘Oh dear.’
