Persistence

Chapter Five – Persistence

Why won’t he let her just forget?

She couldn’t see, but she could feel the sand beneath her body. She tried to move and found that she was unable to. She felt fear when she felt a hand grip her ankle. She tried to speak, to ask who was there, but the words didn’t come. The hand started to slide up her leg and when it reached her knee she felt lips press against her skin. She tried to struggle again, but again found that her body would not obey her. A second hand was placed on the inside of her leg and she felt them both slide up further. Her legs were forced apart and she felt hot breath on the sensitive skin of her inner thigh. She found her voice and moaned when she felt the folds of her sex parted and a digit pushed into her. She felt lips pressed against her mouth as the hand between her legs began to push in and out of her passage. She felt something rub over her button and no longer cared what happened. She felt a heat begin to build within her, and was now crying out with the pleasure of it. She found that she could open her eyes and tried to get a look at the person bringing her all these sensations. He was still kissing her. She realised that she could move and brought her hands up to grab his head. She could feel her body reach its peak just as she looked into his pale blue eyes.

Hermione jerked awake and felt her body still reeling from her dream. She felt longing and desire deep within her. She was stunned. She’d just had a sex dream, the first one in her entire life, and her dream lover had been Draco Malfoy. She blinked into the harsh sunlight that was filtering into her room. When her eyes had adjusted, she grabbed the small silver watch that she kept on the night stand, a gift from Ron and Harry. When she saw the time, she groaned. She had over slept and now she was going to be late for work. Panos was going to angry with her, and she hated to let the older man down, especially as he had taken a real chance hiring the English girl over the locals.

She hoisted herself out of bed and took a quick cold shower, but it did nothing to ease the tension she was feeling between her legs. She dressed as quickly as possible, pulled her hair into a pony tail. It looked rotten so she grabbed a scarf and tied it over her head. Satisfied she grabbed her basket and flew out the door, yelling a quick goodbye to Elani.

Panos gave her a warning glance as she approached the stall.

“Signomi,” she said as she grabbed an apron and began unpacking fruits into the displays of the stall. He nodded and continued working. She moved extra fast to make it up to him.

All around her the market place began to bustle with customers, mostly the locals, but a few tourists, she presumed from the resort that Elani had mentioned. She made a few sales to some English people, who were surprised by her accent and chatted about home before moving on to some other stalls.

It was quite warm working in the sun, so before too long she was looking decidedly shiny. Finally the morning rush petered off. She had just started to refill some of the displays and allow herself to analyse her dream, when she felt a shadow fall across her.

Draco had started that morning with a large breakfast with his mother. She had worn a sly smile as she sipped her coffee, and refused to be intimidated by his menacing looks, half hearted as they were.

When he could stand her knowing glances no longer, he stood and announced his intention to take a walk. She nodded and motioned for a kiss on the cheek. He stooped and placed a peck on her upturned cheek, then shot her a disapproving look as he walked out the door.

He decided that he fancied another of those juicy apples, so headed towards the market place to seek one out. As he approached the stall, he almost laughed out loud when he realised the object of his affection was bent over arranging the very apples he was after.

He tried not to be too loud as he approached her and he watched her stiffen when she noticed the shadow.

“Kalimera,” she said brightly, turning around with a smile on her face. When she met his eyes though, the smile dropped, “What do you want?” He took in her appearance, with the scarf over her head and the evidence of labour making her glow. She looked lovely.

“That’s not a very nice way to greet a customer, Granger,” he said stepping close to her. She backed away, pressing her body into the stand behind her. He moved closer still and pressed his body against hers as he reached behind her to grab an apple of the stand. Smiling he took a bite out of it and held out the money for her.

Feeling him that close images from her dream flashed across her mind and she felt warmth radiate from her core. Her eyes fixed on those lips as they chewed, small droplets of juice clinging to them. She nervously licked her lips, fighting against the urge to lick his lips clean of the moisture.

His eyes dropped to her mouth when he saw the pink tip of her tongue poke out and slide along the surface. If it was hard not to kiss her last night on the beach, it was almost impossible now. Only a few inches and he could be tasting her mouth. He leant forward a little inviting her to close the distance. She looked up into his eyes and he saw that her eyes had darkened. She was ever so slowly moving her lips towards his. Her eyes fluttered close, he was so close she could feel his breath against her skin and it smelt of apples. For his part, he could hardly believe it was going to be so easy to get her to respond to him. Just before their lips touched however, the stall owner who Draco had bought the apples from yesterday reached over and grabbed the still outstretched money from his hand. Hermione’s eyes snapped open and she put both hands on his chest and gave him a shove. He stumbled backwards and when he regained his balance and looked back at her, she was red with embarrassment. The lust in her eyes was gone, replaced by anger.

“I told you to stay away from me,” she said through gritted teeth, obviously trying to hide her anger from the man behind the stall.

“You didn’t seem to be complaining, Granger,” he said arrogantly. She stepped forward and slapped him as hard as she could. Before he could recover, she had turned and said something he didn’t understand to the older man, before running down the road and disappearing around a corner. The stall owner glared at him and yelled something in Greek, motioning for him to go away. Draco held up his hands in surrender and backed away. He took another bite from the apple and rubbed his stinging face.

That didn’t go to plan he thought. Unable to face his mother at that moment, he chose instead to explore some more of the island.

He looked back towards where Granger had vanished. He could explore the island, and if he ran into her again all the better. Resolutely he headed in the direction she had gone.

*******************************************************************************************************Author’s Note : Signomi is sorry and Kalimera is Good Morning in Greek of course – well according to a Greek dictionary I found on-line. Sorry to anyone of that heritage if I am not correct.
