Paradise by the Sea
Harry was still reeling from the kiss he had shared with Severus as he scurried over to Clive’s bungalow. The kiss was not only intoxicating, but it was also addictive. He barely could contain himself from going back and kissing his uptight teacher once again, but he knew any headway he might have made with Severus could crumble under too much pressure. Clive was right about one thing—he had to go slow. Harry moaned out loud as he thought of sinking his cock into Severus’s hot heat.
Harry gave Clive a wave as he shot right pass him and headed for the bathroom. Worried, Clive ran to the bathroom and was about to knock on the door and ask him if he was all right he heard Harry moan in pleasure. Smiling, Clive went back to the living room and let Harry wank in peace.
“I needed that,” Harry said once he exited the loo. He collapsed next to Clive on the couch and ran his fingers through his all ready messy hair.
“Everything all right between you and your submissive?” Clive teased.
“He ticked me off, so I grabbed him by his lapel and planted one on him,” Harry grinned like a loon. “It was…”Harry paused searching for the right word, “perfect.”
“And what was his reaction?” Clive leaned forward putting his elbow on his knees.
“Oh, he acted like I took advantage of him, but I know he enjoyed it,” Harry smiled. “He came in his trousers.”
“That’s a good indication. What now?” Clive asked.
“I have no idea. He doesn’t even realize it, but he responds to my ‘suggestions’. I think he’s confused by his reaction to me.” Harry bit his lower lip and continued, “It’s a matter of trust. I don’t think he knows how to trust. He‘s built his walls so high that no one can get over them.”
“Then dig a hold and go under them. All I can say is take it slow. Build that trust in him. Remember this though, you are the dominate partner, and if you ever betray that trust you will destroy anything that might be between the two of you,” Clive warned.
Harry nodded in agreement. He wanted Severus, not for a one off but for as long as Severus could tolerate him. He would earn that trust, and until his last breath, he would never betray it.
Clive fetched a couple of bottles of water from the refrigerator and handed one to Harry.
“He’s was spitting nails when I left, yelling something about us never being friends. Don’t know if I should go back or not. Mind if I stay the night?” Harry asked.
“Yea, I do,” Clive replied.
“What?” Harry’s eyes went wide never thinking his newfound friend would deny him the use of his couch.
“Sorry, but you have to go back to your roommate. If you don’t, he’ll think he's won and any headway you have made will be lost. It will give him too much time to build his defenses. Keep him off kilter. Ignore him. He’ll wonder what he did to piss you off, but stay close. Rub up against him when you have a chance, but don‘t make it obvious. Give him a complement, accidentally walk into the bathroom when he’s taking a shower, things like that. Everything you do must seem like an accident. He’ll wonder what you’re up to, but don’t give him time to figure it out,” Clive instructed.
“He's awfully smart. I don’t have a chance when it comes to brain games,” Harry informed Clive.
“He’ll let you win eventually,” Clive said.
“You sound sure of yourself.”
“He wants to lose. Deep inside he wants to give in. All you have to do is give him the opportunity,” Clive smiled reassuringly at Harry. “The ball is in your court. What are you going to do about it?”
“Guess I’ll go back to our rooms and win the heart of the snarkiest person that has ever walked the Earth,” Harry said, standing and shaking hands with Clive. “I’m not going to have a lot of free time, so if I don’t see you for a few days, I want to say thank you.”
“You're welcome Harry. Good luck,” Clive gave Harry a hug then shoved him out of the door.
SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
Harry entered his bungalow only to find his roommate missing. It didn’t take too much thought to realize that Severus was once again holing up in his bedroom. Harry smiled; Severus couldn’t hide in his room forever. Sooner or later the man would have to come out and then the games will commence. Harry felt some sympathy for Severus because the Slytherin was about to be outmaneuvered.
SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
Severus was bored and hungry. He had laid in his bed since the ‘incident’ with Har…Potter. Not that he was a coward, far from it. He was a war hero, for Merlin's sake, he was willing to sacrifice his life so that others would live. He was not a coward. He faced Voldemort with less trepidation than he felt walking into the room where Potter was.
Severus had told himself that he would not even look at Potter, but go directly to the table and eat whatever Harry had brought him from the kitchen. He couldn’t help it; once inside the living quarters he had to look around until he saw Harry’s legs swinging freely as they hung over the end of the couch. Ignoring him, Severus turned to his dinner and stopped. There was no dinner waiting for him. He harrumphed as he realized that Potter had not brought him any food.
Pissed, he turned his attention to the boy, “It seems that you have forgotten something, Mr. Potter.”
Harry popped up and looked at his roommate from the top of the couch, “Sorry?”
“You forgot dinner,” Severus made a sweeping movement toward the small table where the two had been sharing their dinner.
“No, I had dinner in the dining-hall. Pot-roast with tiny red potatoes, glazed carrots, and thick gravy. Delicious!” Harry hummed.
“And what exactly am ‘I’ suppose to eat?” Severus asked irritatingly.
Harry looked at his watch, “They’re still serving dinner; if you hurry, you can still have dinner with all of those ‘naked’ people.” He choked back a snicker.
Harry received one of Snape’s death glares.
Severus tried his damnedest to find a retort but instead he looked as if he was imitating a goldfish.
“Anything wrong?” Harry asked innocently.
Severus closed his fists tightly, stamped his foot, and growled at Harry before turning on his heel and heading back towards his bedroom.
“Severus,” Harry interrupted, “There are some sweats on the chair, change into them and let me have your dirty clothes.” Harry ordered mildly. He held his breath, not certain what reaction he might get, but slowly exhaled when Severus snapped the clean clothes from the chair and marched back into his room.
A few moments later the door opened just far enough for the Severus to throw his trousers, shirt, and underwear out the door, followed by the slamming of the door.
Harry suppressed a laugh when he saw the clothes flying by.
Sleep eluded Harry for most of the night. He thought of the strange dynamic between him and his ex-Professor. Harry liked the feeling of being in charge, but he knew that there was more to their relationship than what he was getting out of it; there were Severus's feelings and needs to be considered. He worried, as he lay motionless on the couch, if he could give Severus what he needed to be happy. He wasn’t playing a game. This relationship entailed so much more than he expected but was willing to learn.
SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSsss
Severus stared out of his window into the night, his mind too preoccupied by the thought of Harry to notice the harvest moon or the naked people strolling past his window. All he could think about was his Harry. That disturbed him. He had never thought of anyone being his, least of all Harry. But it was he who pushed Harry away earlier in the day, he was the one who yelled that they could not be friends, so why was his feeling hurt because the boy didn’t have dinner for him?
Throwing himself on the bed Severus crossed his arms across his chest and gazed at the ceiling, making pictures from the random patterns of the stucco. They were all of Harry in compromising positions. In disgust, he abruptly stood to go take a shower, the colder the better, only to stop as his hand reached for the door. Harry was out there. If he stepped out of his room Harry would notice how upset he was. He was a Slytherin; they do not easily reveal their emotions and he wasn’t about to start now.
‘Perhaps if I apologize,’ Severus thought as he started to turn the knob of the door. ‘I did nothing wrong,’ Severus took a defiant stance. ‘He was the one who kissed me, not the other way around. He’s the one that made me come in my pants. It wasn’t any of my doing. If anyone should apologize it should be the boy.’
Severus let go the door handle and plopped down on the edge of the bed. He was lonely. He didn’t want to be alone anymore. He stared at the door in revulsion. Just outside the door was someone who maybe the answer to his loneliness. Someone to take care of him, to take some of his burdens off his shoulders.
He rubbed his eyes vigorously in frustration. He didn’t want to make anymore decisions, especially this one. Why couldn’t Potter just barge in and make him submit?
Severus gasped. Is that what he really wanted? To submit to someone? He had tried it before with Voldemort and Dumbledore, and neither one of those experiences turned out well. Neither one of them ever cared about his well being either, not like Potter does. Well, did… before he threw a hissy-fit earlier in the day. Standing, he reached for the door once again, he had no idea why, except he just wanted to see the Gryffindor. He missed Potter. Abruptly Severus turned around, his back against the door. After standing there for a moment, his legs seemed to become weak until they gave out. Severus started to slide down the door until he plopped down on his bum. He held his legs closed and laid his head on his knees. He had never felt so lost and alone. Wiping a tear away, Severus swore softly. He refused to cry over something as silly as missing the boy in the other room. He knew if he fell asleep this way that he would pay for it in the morning with an assortment of aches and pains, but for some reason Severus couldn’t muster enough strength to care. Damn Potter, damn tomorrow, and damn his life.
A/N Sorry it took so long for me to update my story. I had lost the will to write. I'm back at work now and will only be able to write a chapter a week, sorry but reviews could encourage me to write more.
