Years pass...

Harry stood at the edge of a clearing, watching a group of people dressed in black give their last respects to a man about to be lowered into the ground.

For the last 110 years Harry had lived and trained with Lucian and his life mate, Jaxon. He moved back to England and explained to his friends and family (the Weasley's) what had happened. They were shocked, to say the least, but happy that Harry was okay.

Hermione, always the bookworm, began studying Carpathians with a fervor. She was appalled to find that they were almost always given the same description as vampires. So, she wrote her own book on Carpathians... three books actually. Hunting of Carpathians by wizards had ceased after her work was published.

Harry had thought Auror training was hard, it was nothing compared to Carpathian training.

He learned to move like the wind, shift into different forms, reads peoples minds, control peoples minds. He was taught to hunt and feed. To use his magic, which had changed with him.

He no longer needed a wand to do magic. He had to learn wizard magic all over again, while learning Carpathian magic, which left wizarding magic in the dust.

He rarely used his old magic anymore. Using his Carpathian abilities was easier and quicker.

The group in mourning started to scatter as the coffin was lowered into the ground.

After they had all left or were far enough away for him, he walked to the now mound of dirt.

His green eyes scanned the stone marker.

'Ronald Bilius Weasley

Loyal Friend
Loving Husband
Devoted Father'

Squatting down, Harry ran his hand over the lettering.

"Good-bye, old friend. No matter how long I am on this earth, when someone asks me who my best friend is, I will always answer, Ron Weasley."

He heard footsteps behind him and straightened. Turning he came face-to-face with Hermione Weasley.

"Hey, Hermione, how are holding up?" he asked, walking to his now gray haired friend and wrapping her in his arms.

Hermione smiled up at Harry, deep wrinkles around her eyes crinkling.

"I am still in shock. I knew he was sick... but I just didn't think he could die, you know?" At Harry's nod she continued, "I woke up this morning and I was confused, I didn't know why Ron wasn't in bed with me. Besides that, I am okay. Rose is holding up, Hugo... he is still very upset, I can tell. He tries to be strong and brave, but he really wants to cry and won't let himself."

"Kind of like Ron," Harry said softly, dropping a light kiss on Hermione's still bushy head of curls and stepping away.

"Yeah, like Ron," Hermione smiled, looking at the headstone that displayed her husbands name. "Are you really leaving?"

"I am returning to the Carpathian mountains. The vampires have decided to try and take all the Carpathians in their home territory. I have to go and help."

Hermione nodded, and held out her hand for Harry to take, after he grasped it, they began walking towards where the group of mourners had stopped to talk.

Harry spoke to Rose Malfoy, who had married Scorpius Malfoy, much to her fathers dismay. The junior ferret, as Ron had called him for a while, was a good man and was good to Rose, so Ron and Harry let him live.

He spoke to Ginny Wood and gave her hug, and talked to each of her three children, who were still getting over the death of their father, Oliver who had died three months before.

Harry looked over at Hugo only to receive a glare from the man.

"He hasn't forgiven me yet," Harry said lightly to Hermione who Harry had been leading around, giving her an arm to lean on.

"He doesn't want to admit you're right. You wanted Ron to live just like the rest of us, but turning him into a Carpathian wasn't the way. Hugo just... when he sets his sights on a way to fix something and it seems easy... well, he is just like Ron," Hermione finished, a tear falling down her face as she remembered her husbands temperament.

"Yes, Ron did have a way with dealing with emotional things," Harry agreed. "I beleive you once told him he had 'the emotional range of a teaspoon.'

Hermione let out a laugh, even though tears continued to fall.

"Oh, I did didn't I?" she said, wiping away a few tears. "Well, he did have an emotional range of a teaspoon a lot of the time."

After making sure Hermione got home alright, Harry apparated back to his home. He had just moved in ten years before, and he was leaving. He had lived with his trainer Lucian for 100 years, but when Jaxon announced she was carrying Lucian's first child, Harry decided it was time to leave.

Harry looked about the small house, it was furnished nicely. Harry had enough money to live many lifetimes with. He had taken the Potter fortune and invested it, earning more money then he knew what to do with. He lived well, and money meant that he could live privately, if he wanted.

Press coming around to get a picture of the Great Harry Potter didn't happen much anymore. He had strong protections on his property and home, they left quickly... with a shock in their step.

Harry didn't have anything to pack, just made sure that things were locked up. As a Carpathian he could fashion new clothes when needed out of the earth, so he didn't need to bring any.

Harry stood in the doorway of his home and scanned the area around him to make sure all was safe.

His black hair still stuck out in every direction, green eyes pierced the night as they moved around, he wore black slacks, a white button up shirt, a long black coat and black boots. He didn't need anything fancy, he never had. After wearing Dudley's clothes for his younger years, anything that fit him worked now.

Content that the coast was clear, Harry stepped out of his house and with a wave of his hand closed and warded the door.

Stepping into the front yard, his form became lighter... as though he were dissolving. Soon, he became like a mist and rose away into the night sky.

He flew through the night, as a wisp. The earth under him gave way to water, before land formed again, he passed over mountains, rivers, lakes until coming to the mountains he wanted. The Carpathian mountains.

Harry was solid again when he touched down, in front of a large mansion.

Walking to the door, he knocked.

"HARRY!" came a squeal as the door opened and he greeted by a smiling and very pregnant Alex.

"Alex," he said, smiling at the blonde woman.

"Come in! I would hug you, but since I got pregnant, Adien has been even more of a jealous ogre," she explained with a smile.

"I am not a jealous ogre, I am taking care of you," came the smooth, soft voice of Adien Savage.

"Right, right," Alex said, waving her hand in the direction of her life mate. "You still haven't met everyone, let me introduce you!"

Alex grabbed his hand and dragged him into a large living room where many people sat.

"This is Savannah, Gregori's life mate." Alex stopped him in front of a beautiful woman with long dark hair and bright blue eyes.

"Hello, Harry, Jaxon has told me lots about you," Savannah said, shaking his hand.

Before Harry could reply he was being pulled by Alex to the next person.

"This is Gabriel and his life mate, Francesca. Gabriel and Lucian are twins, as you know."

Harry gave the two a small smile before being pulled to the next introduction.

Harry was pulled around the room and then the house to meet everyone, or re-meet some. He was starting to worry that Alex would pull off his arm.

"Harry," Harry turned at his name, Lucian with his dark hair and eyes stood in the doorway of the living room where he sat speaking to Gabriel about vampire movement in North America. "Will you and Gabriel come with me. We are meeting with the Prince to discuss the vampire problem."

Walking down a long hall with Lucian and Gabriel, Harry quickened his step to keep up with a ancient hunters.

"How is Jaxon, Lucian?" Harry asked, falling into step with the dark man.

"She is fine, due this week."

"I believe you, Jaxon and the Prince were the only people Alex didn't drag me to see," Harry mumbled, rubbing his wrist where Alex nearly dislocated it.

Lucian and Gabriel chuckled at him. "Pregnant women can be pushy," Gabriel said, stopping in front of a set of double doors.

Opening them and walking in, the three men were met by a group of Carpathian males. Prince Mikhail stood in the front of the room with Gregori and his brother Jacques.

"Let us begin," Mikhail said, bringing everyone to attention.
