Chapter 5: Overheard



Harry entered the potions lab after breakfast the next morning

and took his seat with Ron. Hermione took the seat behind

them next to Neville. They had all learned that the only one who

could teach Neville potions without any (or at least minimal)

cauldron blowups was Hermione. Everyone thanked whatever

Deity they prayed to for this. Even Snape had been seen

thanking Merlin that he didn't have to put up with daily "Neville

Bombs" everyday anymore.



Snape entered the room. His face held a more calmer version

of his "Snape Sneer" then normal. His stride was more slower too.

Everyone wondered why and a second later they found out. The

Wiccan Studies teacher had entered the room.



Gia wore the same thing she had worn yesterday and the day

before. This seemed to be her outfit. Like Snape wore the same

black robe everyday. Her black hair was braided with those small

bamboo sticks(?) poking from both sides up and down the braid.

Harry had been correct that her hair hit her waist. Her dark

chocolate brown sleeveless duster(A/N: Like Spikes from BTVS

only brown and without sleeves) breezed behind her as she

walked down the aisle. Gia wore her high necked black leather

tube top that showed off her stomach and the sun tattoo around

her bellybutton. Harry could tell that it was only a tattoo and not

a Soul Brand because its ink was muggle tattoo black and it didn't

have the shine the Soul Brands had. She wore tight black leather

pants that were tucked into black Rangers. On her arms were black

fingerless elbow length leather gloves. She had silver armlets that

had signs of all the elements on it. As Gia passed Harry he caught

sign of her piercing and narrowed his eyes in confusion. The gem

on the silver hoop was a diamond. none of the four elements from

yesterdays class had a diamond for its stone. He pondered this

as she stopped in front of Snape's desk and sat on it. Every single

student held his or her breath waiting for the outburst that was sure

to come. When no explosion came they all looked at each other

with puzzlement.



"All right students calm down now. I want everyone of you to be

able to make a potion this year. At least one. I really don't care

which one but it will be done. I know I am asking a great deal from

everyone of you but that is what will happen even if I have to keep

every single one of you in detention every night until midnight.

Am I understood? Good. The first potion of the year will be the

. This a potion that relieves magic induced headaches.

I want all of you to brew the potion and then hand it in by then

end of class."



With that Snape waved his wand at the blackboard. He moved

to his desk and sat behind it. Both of the Professors talked quietly

while watching the class. Midway through both teachers stood

up and peered into the cauldrons to make sure that all was going

well.



Gia stood next to Harry's red colored potion. She looked over

her shoulder at Snape who was yelling at a Slytherin. She then

put her hand above the potion and changed it to the appropriate

color of Purple. She gave Harry and Ron, who had seen Gia mess

with the potion, a small smile and a wink, then moved on. When she

stood in front of Kelsey's potion she did the same thing, making

sure that Snape couldn't see.



"Well, well Potter. Will wonders never cease. Your potion is exactly

were it should be at this stage" snark-ed Snape.



Oh how Harry wanted to punch him. Just a small one on the beak

he called a nose.



"Thank you sir," He said instead while clutching is teeth.



Snape was going to reply when.......



"UNCLE SEV!!!!!!!" They heard Gia scream with fright and pain.



Everyone turned to look at Gia. She was on her knees with fists

clenched to her sides and her face was pointed to the ceiling ,

eyes closed and mouth open as she screamed.



Snape barked orders to the students to shut down and clean up

as he picked up Gia and made a run for the infirmary.



The students cleaned up with out a sound. They were all afraid of

what had happened. Harry chanced to look over at Draco. Their

eyes met. They shared a look, the first ever that wasn't an "I'm

going to kill you". This look said that they must find and protect

Gia at all costs. This look worried Harry but it felt right to him so

he didn't question it to hard.



When everything was cleaned up Harry told Ron and Hermione

that he would see them later and sent them on their way. When

the classroom cleared both boys started to the infirmary. They

didn't know it but they walked and moved like were two half's of

a whole. If any students had seen them like this they would have

run screaming that there were killers on the loose.



They entered the infirmary and walked up to the closed curtains

that surrounded bed. They assumed that Gia was behind there

because all the other beds were empty. They stood and listened

to both teachers talking.



"Luv,"They heard Snape say,"What happened? Why did you fall

down and scream like that?"



"Oh Sev. The ghosts, there gone."



"Ghosts?"



"Hogwarts' ghosts. Someone exercised them."



"Gia nobody can do that. Well other than you. Anyway exorcisms

are only a muggle myth. at least in the way they believe the word

means."



"Severus. Listen to me. Anybody can exercise a ghost from a place

were they live. It's the right of the living. It's the materials that are

hard to come by. My blood being one of them. Sev who could do

this. Whoever did this caused the ghosts so much pain. I could

feel it. They were ripped from here before they were ready." Gia

gave a sob and the boys could hear her choked breathing.



"G, we'll find out who did this. now would you like to tell me why

you stopped me this morning and asked to talk to me after my first

class. Not that I minded having you help earlier with the students.

And don't think I didn't see you turn the colors of a couple of the

students potions Missy."



"Uncle Sev please you have to promise you won't get mad, please."



"It must be serious for you to call me that were others could hear.

You called me Uncle Sev earlier. I hope the students didn't

understand your words."



"I'm sorry Sev but what I have to tell you is very important and you

could become angry. I need you to swear a fealty oath that you

won't get made about the information ever."



"a fealty oath. Gia why? You know that I hate to swear to you

like that."



"Swear."



The boys could hear the sounds of some one moving around.

When they looked to the ground they could see Snape's feet. He

had knealed on the floor.



"I, Severus Archibald Snape Firebender class Dragon sect Jin

hear by swear to Aungia Xantara Makani Pyralis Chelan Moore

Lightbender class Phoenix Princess of Light Ruler of Wicca that

no matter what she tells me about why she stopped to talk to me

earlier this day I will not become angry ever at her words or meanings."



"I,Aungia Xantara Makani Pyralis Chelan Moore Lightbender class

Phoenix Princess of Light Ruler of Wicca, hereby except the fealty

oath of Severus Archibald Snape Firebender class Dragon sect Jin."



Harry and Draco looked at each other in puzzlement. Gia was

a princess? And not just any princess but the ruler of Wicca and

Snape was a Wiccan? This was news. They had never seen and

earring in Snape's ears. But how could they really have noticed

when Snape always kept his hair in his face.



"Sev I've found out who is your Branded. Yesterday I gave the

students their Soul Brands as an initiation and they took pictures

of them. Someone in fifth year shares your Brand. The other half

of your soul."



There was dead silence. Not even a whisper of clothes could be

heard.



"Who? Who is it Gia?"asked Severus.



"Sev its Harry."



There again was the silence.



"Harry Potter is my soul mate. Are you going out of your mind child."



"Dragon sect Jin," Stated Gia Harshly" I have not lost my mind.

His Brand is the same and it is in the same exact spot. You were

both created to love each other and to share your magic as one.

Now leave before I decide to exact my rights to punish idiots who

don't know when they have crossed the line."



Both boys ran out of the infirmary as quietly as they could and

up the steps to the great hall. They looked at each other with

horror and amusement.



"Well Potter it looks like you and Snape will be together doing the

Veela Dance forever. You were faaated."Draco laughed as

he walked to his next class.



Harry looked at the school clock that graced the Hogwarts entrance

and saw that he was 15 minutes late to his Transfiguration class.

McGonegal was not going to be happy.

A power name that only a few people are trusted with. I give you

the right to choose Snape's power name. Just so you know a

power name must be related to a persons elemental power. You

all know that Snape is a rare English firebender like Harry and Draco.



Lama: You can create Draco's power name.



KnowingDivine: I am not a practicing Wicca but my friend in the navy

is so I grew up with some of the beliefs but I am an Unitarian Universalist.
