Galactic Love

Chapter 5

Anakin led Voldemort and the Death Eaters into a building. Anakin had procured the building after Solan, Mace, and Obi-Wan had killed Palpatine. After his Master was killed, the Council and Senate had contacted the Prime Minister of Kimono who altered the original programming of the Clone army that Palpatine had specified. The Clone troops were now under the complete control of the Republic.

“Tomorrow I will go personally to the Senate and study Hermione and Severus. I have no doubt they will have Jedi protecting them, but I also don’t know how much, if any, they have changed over the years,” Anakin said.

“I want Lucius to go with you. He can identify Potter and his sidekick Weasley,” Voldemort stated.

“Fine. You and your men should rest. Starting tomorrow, my plan will begin,” Anakin nodded.

Severus and Harry watched as Ron stood on the balcony. Ever since he had come back from visiting Hermione five hours ago, he had been in an angry mood. Harry took a deep breath, stood up and walked over to his best friend.

“Ron, what’s up?”

“I poured my heart out to her and she just throws it back in my face,”

“Oh you didn’t. Please tell me you didn’t,” Harry groaned.

“I told her I loved her and what does she say? ‘Oh Ron. I’m flattered but I’m afraid I don’t return your feelings.’ That teasing bitch,” Ron growled.

“Ron, I told you she wasn’t interested,” Harry sighed.

“So now you’re on her side!” Ron yelled.

“I’m not taking sides here. I’ve told you, Ginny’s told you, hell most of Gryffindor’s told you she’s not interested. It’s not my fault you didn’t listen,” Harry shot back.

“Oh yes, Mr. Perfect Potter. You’re always right aren’t you? You always have the answers,” Ron hissed as he re-entered the living room.

“Hey! I’m nowhere near perfect! I can’t help it that you’re two stubborn to listen to anyone!” Harry argued.

The next thing Harry knew, Ron spun around and punched Harry. He fell to the floor as Ron stood over him, a look of pure rage on his face. Severus rushed over and stood between Ron and Harry.

“What the hell has gotten into you!” Severus demanded.

“This doesn’t concern you!” Ron yelled.

“What’s going on?” Solan asked as he, Obi-Wan, and Hermione entered the room.

“Ron’s lost it,” Harry groaned as he struggled to his feet, wiping the blood from his lip.

Obi-Wan and Solan shared a look. The second they entered the room they had felt a strong flow of darkness. It was coming from Ron. Instinctively, Obi-Wan moved to stand in front of Hermione.

“This is all your fault! You do nothing but lead people on!” Ron roared as he pointed at Hermione.

“Ron please. You’re not thinking clearly. I know you’re hurt about what I said, but getting angry isn’t going to make the hurt go away,” Hermione pleaded.

Ron’s face contorted into an almost unrecognizable mask. His normally blue eyes began glowing red. Solan and Obi-Wan moved in front of Harry, Hermione, and Severus. They drew their lightsabers, both hoping they wouldn’t need them.

“You don’t want to do this Ron,” Solan said.

“What would you know? You Jedi are completely unfeeling. You have blocks of ice where your hearts should be,” Ron growled.

“We don’t want to hurt you. You’re letting your anger and pain cloud your judgement,” Obi-Wan added calmly.

“DON’T LECTURE ME!” Ron screamed.

A second later, Harry, Hermione, Obi-Wan, Severus, and Solan were blasted back. The five crashed into furniture, bookcases and the glass table. Ron stalked away without so much as looking back. Severus and Obi-Wan struggled to their feet.

“What just happened?” Harry groaned as he sat up rubbing the back of his head.

“The dark side of the Force. Somehow he channeled it,” Solan answered, getting to his feet.

“Where’s Hermione?” Obi-Wan asked worriedly.

“Over here! She’s hurt!” Severus cried as he knelt beside his friend.

Obi-Wan sat outside the medical bay. Hermione had been injured pretty bad when she was knocked through the glass table. Luckily, the healers had mended her arm and the cut to her head. Harry was now sitting at her bedside while Solan was filling the Council in on the attack.

“You love her don’t you,” Severus stated as he sat beside Obi-Wan. Obi-Wan jerked his head up. “Don’t worry, I won’t say anything. I was under the impression though, that it was forbidden for a Jedi to fall in love,”

“It is. It happened eleven years ago. Hermione was seventeen and had only been a Senator for a year. She was going to Naboo to meet with Padme, who was a Senator at the time. Even though she had only been on the Senate a short time, she had made some enemies.

“The Council felt it be safer if a Jedi accompanied her on her trip. I was chosen. Anakin was my Padawan then, but remained behind. She and I were friends, but that last week on Naboo, things changed. I had found an assassin sneaking into her room and stopped him.

“That night, everything came out. We confessed our love for each other, both knowing it was forbidden. We became lovers shortly there after. Despite it being forbidden, we both feel our love is right,” Obi-Wan explained.

“Let’s just hope Anakin doesn’t find this out. If he does, it’s leverage he could use against you and Hermione,” Severus said.

The two looked down the hall as they heard footsteps. Solan and Yoda were making their way toward them. Severus and Obi-Wan rose to their feet as the two Masters stopped in front of them.

“How is she?” Yoda asked.

“She’ll be fine. The healers want her to stay over night and spend tomorrow in her room resting,” Severus answered.

“Have you found Ron?” Obi-Wan questioned.

“No. I have contacted Chancellor Amidala and she has sent out Clone troops to search for him,” Solan replied.

“She needs to be protected. I’ve lost Ron and I can’t loose Hermione as well,” Harry sated as he exited Hermione’s room.

“Protect her Master Kenobi will. The dark side surrounds your friend it does. A disturbing development this is,” Yoda sighed.

“The Council will be meeting tomorrow to try and come up with a solution. Severus, when you and Harry go to the Senate, be extra alert. I’ll be there, but in the shadows,” Solan advised.

“We will. Oh, Obi-Wan, Hermione wants to speak with you,” Harry said.

“Go to her. I’ll take Harry and Severus back,” Solan smiled.

“Get well soon she will,” Yoda nodded.

Obi-Wan turned and walked into the room. He found Hermione laying in a cot resting. Her right arm was bandaged and resting across her abdomen. It broke his heart to see her injured.

“Hermione,”

“Obi-Wan,”

“I’m sorry. I failed you love,” he sighed as he held her hand.

“No you didn’t Ben. How could any of us have known that Ron had the powers of a Jedi,” she assured him.

Obi-Wan quickly filled her in on the Council’s decision. Hermione agreed with the Council. Slowly, she drifted off to sleep. Obi-Wan sat at her bedside and held her hand. He hoped that they could defeat Anakin before her hurt Hermione or worse…killed her.

************************************************************************ “We found him outside,” Nott said as he shoved Ron to the floor.

“Well, well. Ron Weasley,” Voldemort chuckled as he stepped foreword.

“Back off,” Ron growled, his eyes still glowing red.

“What a wicked tongue you have. Hmm, this could be just what we need,” Voldemort stated.

Anakin watched in silent humor as Ron lashed out with the dark side. Voldemort went flying across the room. As Voldemort slid to the floor, Anakin walked over to Ron and just studied him.

“There is rage in you boy,” Anakin smiled. Ron glared at Anakin. “I can help you focus it. Grow stronger,”

“How?” Ron asked.

“Become my apprentice,” Anakin answered.

Ron nodded and knelt before Anakin. “What must I do…Master?”

Harry felt it the second he, Severus, and Solan left the Senate building. Just before they reached the speeder, Harry grabbed Severus and Solan and pulled them to the ground as a spell flew over their heads.

“Hello traitor,” Lucius hissed.

“Should have known you’d be here,” Severus said as he got to his feet.

“Give it up Lucius. You don’t stand a chance,” Harry added, drawing his wand.

“Cocky as ever. I have a message. Hand over the mudblood or else we will come and get her,” Lucius stated.

“You tell Voldemort he can go to hell,” Severus growled.

“You’ve been warned,” Lucius smiled evilly.

The three watched as Lucius backed away into the crowd. They shared a look before jumping into the speeder and flying off to check on Hermione.

************************************************************************

Obi-Wan sat at Hermione’s bedside. Ever since she returned to her apartment, she had been in bed sleeping peacefully. He softly brushed his knuckles against the her cheek, trying to offer her some comfort.

“Ben,” she sighed.

“I’m right here. I love you,” he whispered.

“Master Kenobi, Master Snape is here. Something’s happened,” Alleena said as she entered the room.

“Stay with her,” Obi-Wan instructed.

Alleena nodded. Obi-Wan got to his feet and left. He found Severus and Harry pacing and Solan standing at the window. Solan turned and faced him as he felt Obi-Wan’s presence in the room.

“Where’s Senator Granger?” Solan asked.

“She’s asleep. Alleena’s with her,” Obi-Wan answered.

“We ran into Lucius Malfoy. He’s one of Voldemort’s top Death Eaters. He said to hand Hermione over or they’d come get her,” Harry sighed.

“Trust me, once Voldemort sets his sights on someone, he usually gets them,” Severus added.

“What else could go wrong?” Obi-Wan groaned.

“She won’t be happy about this, but the Council has contacted Chancellor Amidala. She has agreed to station Clone troops outside Senator Granger’s apartment. I seem to recall, Hermione detested security,” Solan replied.

“You’re right Solan. Padme and Hermione both hated it,” Obi-Wan smiled slightly.

“Well, like it or not she’s going to have to deal with it. I won’t loose Hermione like I lost Ron,” Harry vowed.

“Mind your feelings Harry. A Sith lord can and will use them against you,” Severus advised.

“He’s right Harry. Anakin is powerful and will use any means to get what he’s after,” Obi-Wan agreed.
