Chapter Three: Pregnancy

It has come to the attention of this reporter that in a few years, children of men may soon be joining the ranks of other Hogwarts’ students. An industrious Potions Master, whom everyone who has attended Hogwarts’ in the past 35 years would know. Master Severus Snape retired from teaching two years ago to pursue his love of creating potions. Master Snape has earned an Order of Merlin twice for his actions during the Great-War-Against-He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named. Although he is known for his slaying of the great wizard Albus Dumbledore, who needs no introduction, he was exonerated by Headmaster’s own words.
Master Snape has just published an article in Potions Monthly, that claims that he is about to start Phase Two clinical trials of his new potion series that could allow a man to conceive, carry and give birth to a child fathered by his partner. Phase One trials showed that the potions were safe at all dosages, but were conducted in heterosexual males, and therefore did not show whether or not a pregnancy would result, but Master Snape assures me that if used correctly his potion cocktail will result in pregnancy under the right conditions. Master Snape first developed and released fertility potions for heterosexual couples, before deciding recently to aim for a different group of hopeful parents. This is due to the problems faced by many same-sex couples, mainly males, hoping for children. Master Snape also states that this technique would also be useful for heterosexual couples, in which the female is unable to carry a child to term. To continue on page 4. Harry couldn’t believe it, the dream had come back, not quite full force, but it peaked out from beyond the sunset, and seemed as if it would come with the sunrise, and bring with it all his hopes. He sat in Snape’s waiting room, and looked around the room at the other people waiting to meet with Snape, or one of the Mediwizards he worked with. There were several pregnant woman, some woman with babies, and some woman that could have been pregnant or not, and a handful of men, and most appeared attached to a female, but there was one couple that appeared to be here for the same reason he was. Only they seemed to be there for each other. As soon as he had showed his lover the article, he had turned away saying that they didn’t need to get their hopes up. Although Draco didn’t show it, he had been hurt by their losses over the years just as much as Harry had been, if not more. Draco refused to even consider the idea, but he had said that whatever Harry needed him to do he would, but he wasn’t participating. Harry understood his point of view, but that didn’t make it any less hurtful that Draco wasn’t there supporting him 100%. The last baby they had lost had been the most painful for Draco, because it had been his sperm that had been used to father the baby.

“Harry, this way please,” the nurse at the desk said, guiding him through some doors, down a hallway and into a room, “Wait here, deary. Master Snape shall be with you shortly, and give you your results.” Harry waited patiently for the next ten minutes. The door soon opened and Snape and Madame Zellari, Harry’s mediwizard during the trial, entered the room.

Snape spoke first as the two seated themselves, “Congratulations, Mr. Potter, it seems you were taking the potion cocktail and not the placebo cocktail. And you seem to be the first patient that has actually conceived a child, while taking the potion. However it seems that it wasn’t my potion that did it, so I’ll have to let you out of the trial. Madame Zellari says she is still willing to treat you, and I’ll still be covering the cost of your care.”

Harry’s mind had slowed to a crawl, “Wait, I’m pregnant?”

“Yes, Harry, you are,” Madame Zellari said softly, patting his arm.

Harry sat in silence as he digested this. He was soon giggling like mad. “Did you say it wasn’t the potion, so how did it happen?” He asked once he calmed down enough.

“Well, it seems the initiation potion started the process, but your magic picked up on your desires and finished the process. You are approximately nine weeks along now, and we didn’t catch it until your checkup last week, because we weren’t looking for that to happen yet for another month or so.”
