What a Change

Chapter # 5: (a date with Draco and Hermione's not so new intrest.)



It was late Friday night when Harry returned back in his dorms, he’d been with their defense against the dark arts teacher for most of the day. He’d been assigned private defense study because of Voldemort’s return. It was not an easy day, he was a bit tired but couldn’t sleep, his mind just wouldn’t relax and let him. So he thought he’d go ask his dad for a dreamless sleep potion.

Upon entering his father’s room he noticed that he wasn’t alone. Sound asleep rapped in his father’s arms was none other than Harry’s best friend Hermione Granger. Harry didn’t know what to say, he was shocked that his father would have a relationship with a student, a student that was best friends with his son none the less.

Suddenly Harry came to his senses and slammed the bedroom door shut. This caused his dad and Hermione to jump from there deep sleep.

“what in bloody hell do you think your doing?” yelled Harry.

Hermione pulled the blankets up closer around her, clearly Harry could tell that she didn’t have any clothes on, and apparently neither did his father.

“Harry I can explain…” Said Hermione, fear and worry sounded in her voice.

“I don’t need your excuses, why the hell didn’t you tell me? Is this why you left crying when I told you? Oh, my god! I can’t believe this.” Harry said in a frustrated voice as he ran his hands through his already messy hair.

“yes, this is why I ran out crying. I was worried. That is until I had a talk with Sev.” said Hermione.

“don’t call him that, not around me! Do you know what kind of images that puts in my head?! Ahhh” Harry went on. “how long?”

“how long what?” Severus spoke for the first time.

“how long have you two been…” Harry trailed off.

“have we been together?” questioned Severus.

“umm, yeah.”

“since the middle of last year, way before you came into the picture.” answered Severus.

“ok.” said Harry, noticing that his dad looked happy there with Hermione.

“ok? Do you mean that your ok with us?” asked Hermione, a bit puzzled.

“yeah, I just don’t want to know about anything you two do, alright!” said Harry.

“fine with me. So do you mind telling me why you came in here in the first place?” asked Severus.

“I need a dreamless sleep potion, I’ve had a long day and I could really use a good nights sleep.”

Severus pointed to a cabinet next to Harry “there’s one in there.”

Harry got a potion from the cabinet and left his dad and friend alone to sleep.

Harry awoke the next morning well rested. He took a shower, got dressed and walked out to the kitchen to grab a bite to eat before leaving to meet Draco. Today was they’re date in Hogsmead, Harry was nervous about what he should do but brushed it off.

“good morning” said a voice.

“good morning, Lucius” replied Harry, as he poured himself a glass of tea. “what are you doing here this early?”

“I came to see your father, we have some business to take care of. Aren’t you and Draco going to Hogsmead today?”

“yeah, I’m going to go meet him in a few minutes. What kind of business do you have with dad?”

“oh, nothing to important.”

“I see, I better get going; I don’t want to keep Draco waiting.” said Harry as he sat his cup on the table and looked at his watch.

Draco was waiting for Harry at the entrance, just like planed. Harry couldn’t help but notice how beautiful he looked once again. This time Draco had his hair tied back with a ribbon at his neck, he had long black dress robes that swept the ground once again they hung open, just enough for Harry to see Draco’s green dress shirt.

“hi, I didn’t keep you waiting, did I?” asked Harry.

“oh, no I’m just early. Shall we go then?” asked Draco.

Most of the kids had already left so this left Draco and Harry alone as they walked down the dirt path out and away from Hogwarts.

“you know I’ve liked you for a long time.” said Draco. “ever since I first saw you at the dress shop.”

“then what took you so long to ask me out?” asked Harry a bit surprised by what Draco was telling him.

“I didn’t know that you liked boys, in fact I thought that you had something going on with Granger.”

“so that’s why you’ve been so mean to her all this time. And who told you that I was gay in the first place?”

“yes that is why I was mean to her, I envied her. Your dad told my dad that you were gay and that he thought that you were lonely, so my dad came up with the idea of the dinner.”

“so it was all a set up, to get me and you together?”

“well yes, I hope your not mad.”

“why would I be mad? After all I get a date with the most beautiful boy in school. What does your dad think about you being gay?”

“well he doesn’t mind. At first he was mad, until he found out that I could still have kids.”

“really how’s that?”

“I take it that you and Severus haven’t had the proper talk yet?”

“no, he really hasn’t told me much, only that I’ll change a lot this year, now that I’m reunited with my father.”

“oh, well we can still have kids if we find our soul mates; that’s the only way. Any other guy and well it’s just sex.”

“oh, so you think we’re soul mates?”

“I don’t know.” said Draco.

“well here we are, where do you want to go?” asked Harry upon entering the Village.

“I don’t care wherever you want to go is fine with me.” replied Draco.

Harry and Draco stayed in Hodsmead most of the day going to the different shops and enjoying each others company. Draco bought Harry a teddy bear at one of the shops, if Harry pressed it’s hand it told him where Draco was. Harry loved it.

Harry and Draco didn’t make it back to the castle until around eight. Draco walked Harry back to his Dorm before saying goodnight. Harry told Draco how much fun he had had before giving him a kiss and entering his rooms.
