Dumbledore
::::::::::
When Lord Voldermort breathed his last breath, Harry James Potter became heir to more than just his freedom. He also inherited every memory that Tom Riddle had ever possessed. It had been, to say the least, an eye opening experience. Especially when he had seen exactly who and what Tom himself had considered evil,
and why….
(You can be my “special” friend Tom.)
“So Voldermort is no more then?” Queried the esteemed Professor and head of the Order of the Phoenix, Albus Dumbledore.
Dumbledore’s eyes were twinkling even more wildly than usual at the news, it was practically blinding.
(Just be a good boy. This wont hurt a bit.)
Harry Potter regarded the headmaster with more than a little wariness. He had long suspected that Dumbledore might one day try to seize control over the whole of the wizarding world by throwing them all into epileptic seizures using that shit.
“Yes Sir.” Harry said firmly. “I made sure of that myself.” He glanced over to where his blond lover was seated beside him. “Of course, Draco helped to make sure that none of the other death eaters escaped. He was by my side throughout the whole ordeal.”
Draco raised his head proudly and sat a little straighter in his seat. “Its true sir,” He said, “I disposed of my father and my Aunt Bella myself. Most of the others were either killed in the initial attack or were finished off by Harry and myself immediately afterwards.”
“I see.” Dumbledore steepled his fingers and stared back speculatively at the two boys sitting before him. “And Professor Snape?”
(Who would believe a pathetic orphaned half blood like you?)
“Was not there Professor.” Harry answered quickly. “We made sure of that. We both knew that he was working on our side.”
“Very good, very good.” Dumbledore nodded. “Severus has been invaluable to us. I would have hated it if he had gotten caught in the cross fire.”
(You have nobody.. You are nobody.)
“Yes Sir.” Draco smiled. “He and my mother have both been enjoying their new found freedom.”
Dumbledore smiled back at both of them. “Well then boys I would say that this calls for a celebration! I have a few things to take care of first but I would like for both of you to meet me in the great hall in say..... an hour? ”
(Just touch it…)
Harry and Draco rose from their seats and joined hands. “That would be fine headmaster.” Harry murmured. “We have some things we need to discuss with our friends first anyway.”
The two boys turned to leave. They were almost to the door when they heard, “Avada Keda..” followed swiftly by the sound of a blade slicing through the air and a loud thump/squish as something heavy hit the floor and rolled across it.
As they turned back neither was surprised at the sight of Severus Snape standing over the decapitated body of Albus Dumbledore. In Severus hand was the sword of Gryffindor which was dripping rivulets of blood onto the floor. The Potions Master’s face was even paler than usual and he let loose with a wail of anguish as the sword slipped from numb fingers to clatter to the floor.
Narcissa Malfoy slipped out from underneath Harry’s invisibility cloak where they had both been hiding until just moments earlier to wrap her arms around the trembling form of the man she loved.
The astonished expression on the Headmasters severed head as it rolled to a stop at Harry’s feet would have been comical if not for the circumstances. Harry bent and grasped a hand full of gray hair to lift it until they were almost nose to nose. “You always did think me a fool didn’t you Albus?”
Harry shook the unresponsive head as though he could force it to answer. “Did you really think that I didn’t know that you would try to dispose of me as soon as Voldermort was eliminated?”
“Harry,” Draco whispered, gently laying a hand on his lovers shoulder. “Its over now.”
He took the gruesome head from Harry’s hand and set it awkwardly down on the headmasters desk.
“At least you gave him a chance.” Draco said as he pulled his angrily weeping lover into his arms.
From across the room Draco could hear his mother whispering similar soothing words to a sobbing Severus. In a way this had been the hardest part for all of them. Killing Voldermort had been a given. It had been the slaughter of a tyrant and something that had to be done.
Killing Dumbledore was pure heartbreak for both men involved, even though in the end it had proven to be no less necessary. Now, both the beast that was Tom Riddle and the man who had helped to make him into that beast lay dead. Still, Harry and Severus would mourn this day forever.
Draco held Harry close. It was a new day, a new beginning for them all.
All of the monsters at Hogwarts had finally been put to rest.
