Chapter 5

Disclaimer: The Harry Potter characters belong to J.K Rowling, any other characters not in Harry Potter are of my own originality.

Hermione was getting ready for work. She was exhausted from the night before, going out on a Thursday night with her girlfriends was always rough, but the drinks and music were always cheaper and better. She put on one of her cute work suits. It was a blue button up jacket with a blue skirt that just went down past her knees. She wore a white button shirt under the jacket, put her hair up, and was ready to go.

It was around noon and it had been a busy day of answering phone calls for the gallery. Hermione was exhausted. She decided to have some tea and a sandwich :::sigh::: ‘I guess I won’t be leaving for lunch today.’ When she was about to bite into her sandwich, a man in a very pricey grey suit came in.

“Ahem, I am interested in buying a piece here today.”

“Oh ok sir, let me just call down Ingrid to help you, she owns this gallery and is one of the best curators I know.”

“How about you….Miss????”

“Granger.”

“Ok well why don’t you help me pick out a piece.”

Hermione contemplated this for a minute, she had done it before, and Ingrid never minded, she had enough on her plate as it was.

“Ok sir, right this way, we have many new small priced pieces that have just arrived earlier this week.

As she showed him around, she was thinking how much she loved these pieces. They were all simple, all just pictures of geometrical shapes, but so full of color.

“I think I would like this one.”

Hermione stared at the painting. It was a lovely painting of hundreds of triangles all over the canvas painted in hundreds of different colors.

“I think that is a very nice choice.”

“Well thank you for showing me around. Now how do I pay for this?’

“Well we will have a receipt saying it’s sold, we will then tell the artist it has been sold, and will call you in about a week so that you can come back, pay and pick up the painting, how does that sound?”

“Good, it says here that it is selling for 500 pounds correct?”

“Yes.”

“Very good then, I will be waiting for my phone call.”

He gave her his phone number and address, gave her a quick handshake goodbye, and walked out of the room.

“My, my, Miss Granger, you did a very good job indeed.”

Hermione looked up to see her boss Ingrid giving her a smirk while standing on the stairs, Hermione looked at her and smiled back.

“Yeah I guess I’m not bad for an amateur.”

Ingrid and she were about to keep talking about the painting sold when another man came in the store, only this time he was wearing a delivery suit.

“Is there a Miss Granger here?”

“Yes sir that’s me.”

“Special flower delivery for you.”

‘Flowers? For me?’ she thought. ‘I hope they’re not from Jay, I told him this wasn’t going to work out.’

“I see that you have an admirer Miss Granger, who are they from?” Ingrid said, very interested.

Hermione looked down at the dozen roses, there was a small note attached to the vase,

Dear Hermione,
Beautiful flowers for a beautiful woman. You are probably rolling your eyes right now. But I forgot to tell you where we should meet tonight, meet me at the restaurant Le Bleu tonight at 7 p.m. I’ll be waiting at the table for you.

Until Tonight,
Draco Malfoy

P.S. The muggle internet is wonderful when finding art galleries.

“It’s from an old friend of mine.”

“Well he must really like you to be giving you a dozen roses. Ah well, that bloody telephone in my office is always ringing. I will speak with you before you leave Miss Granger.”

Hermione nodded and walked back to her desk. Excitement overtook her as she lost her appetite for the sandwich. She looked down at the note again. ‘Until Tonight…’

She looked at the roses, smelled the intoxicating scent they gave off, and smiled.
