A New Hope (Daddy, Look What I Found)
Chapter 5
written by: MorningStar
Harry finished his breakfast and headed for Snape’s study. He wasn’t looking forward to this little chat, he didn’t want to discuss such a personal matter with Snape, but he knew that he had to tell someone; and he needed to tell them soon.
Harry knocked upon reaching the large dark wood door that served at the gateway into Snape’s personal study. The door opened to reveal the stringent potions master sitting behind his lavish desk reading what looked to be a letter.
Severus looked up to acknowledge the boy by saying, “Have a seat, I just want to finish reading this and then we will talk.” He went back to reading after that.
Harry took a seat in front of the desk, looking around to admire the beautiful ancient woodwork in the room. There were book shelves covering two full walls, covered in full with books. On either side of Severus there we’re two large full length windows, which showed beautiful views of the gardens behind the manor. The floor was carpeted with a dark green carpet which had silver and white designs printed into it and placed in the back of the room was a large fireplace that took up half of the wall.
Soon Severus looked up to see that Harry was examining the room, “What do you think,” Asked the potions master as he motioned to the room itself. “This home has been in my family for centuries, and this is by far one of my favorite rooms.”
“It’s beautiful,” Harry said as he looked back to Snape. The man had placed the parchment that he was reading form back down onto his desk and had his hands now folded across it.
“I’m glad that you think so,” Severus said, easing the boy into the oncoming conversation. “Now, we have quiet a bit to talk about. I’ve owled Albus and informed him that you’ll be spending the remainder of your summer here. I did not tell him why, due mostly to the fact that I have yet to find out why you are not still at your relatives home.”
Harry looked down, he didn’t want to make eye contact with Snape; the man was just so intimidating. On top of that, he didn’t understand why the normally snarky potions master was being civil to him, if not just right out nice. “I told you, I had to leave,” Harry told the older man sitting behind the desk, in hopes that he would just leave it at that.
“I understand that much, but why, Potter did you have to leave?”
Knowing that Snape wasn’t going to let him be until he got some answers Harry replied, “it wasn’t safe.”
Just as Harry got those words out, the fireplace in Snapes study roared to life and out stepped Draco Malfoy. Harry watched as the flames swirled around the boy’s body as Malfoy stepped out of the fireplace.
“Severus,” the blonde boy yelled as he walked right up to stand in front of Snape’s desk, “What is the meaning of this?” Draco tossed a piece of parchment down on the desk before him. “How did he find out about this?”
Snape picked up the piece of parchment and read quickly. As Malfoy continued to yell, Harry suddenly began to feel light headed. He stood from his seat and started for the door, “I think that I’ma have a lay-in, I don feel so…” Harry’s words trailed off as he fainted on the floor.

AN: I know, I didn’t tell you what’s wrong with Harry. *Evil grin* Don’t worry, you will all find out soon enough. I’ve gotten one reply stating what they think is wrong with our boy hero…what do the rest of you think??? Oh, and who do you all think that Damien’s other parent is????? I know the answers…but can you figure it out?
