Chapter 5

The next week passed by in a blur of shouts and dusty books. Harry sat at his desk in the library, wearily looking down at yet another thick, dusty tome that didn’t contain one ounce of information that they needed. Dobby had successfully retrieved the list of books that Lucius had provided, yet none had anything new to add to the mystery. They had even sent Dobby back twice more for other books, yet still no help there.

Harry reached up and pulled off his glasses, dropping them to the table as he raised his hands to cover his face, rubbing the skin along his forehead resignedly.

A crash, followed by yelling filtered in through the closed door of the library. Harry grimaced behind his hands before dropping them to pick up his glasses and replace them on his face. Draco and Lucius were at it again in the kitchen. It was a wonder that Snape didn’t hex both of them to oblivion for messing up that room, especially since he had taken over the cooking duties.

Standing up, he crossed the room and made his way down the hall towards the kitchen. As he got closer he could hear the argument that was being shouted by the two Malfoy males.

“I raised you better than this, Draco! What the hell are you doing getting involved with that… that…”

“His name is Harry, and he is who I love! I don’t care what you say, I am not getting married to some sycophantic, tarted up little twit just so that you can have grandchildren. You’re still young, marry someone and have your other children to follow in your narrow-minded mould. You can forget about me doing so.”

“I don’t care what you want, you will follow my orders or you can forget about ever inheriting anything of the Malfoy name!”

“Like I care! I have my own investments and I can live quite well without your blood money!”

“Well, Mr. Potter, do you think that we should stop them before they hex themselves silly?” drawled a dark voice from behind him.

Harry jumped, turning around and whipping up his wand in reflex. He was chagrined to find Snape leaning against the wall next to him. He hadn’t even heard the man come up behind him.
“Dammit Snape! Don’t do that!” Harry snapped, before sliding his wand back into its hiding spot. “What set them off this time, other than the obvious.”

“Lucius has decided that since Draco is apparently ‘consorting with the enemy’ that it was time that he fulfills the marriage clause that has been in-place for Draco.” Severus snorted derisively. “As if Lucius should know better, the clause was with the Parkinson family and since they are loyal supporters of the Dark Lord.”

“They would turn over them both immediately to Voldemort without hesitation,” Harry finished for him. “Sometimes I really, truly think that they are the classic blonds.”

Severus snorted again, this time with amusement, “For once, Mr. Potter, I totally agree with you.”

Harry looked up at the Potion Master and nodded, “Don’t you think it is about time that you call me Harry?”

The older man looked down at the younger for a few moments, before nodding his assent. Before either could say another word though, a loud crash echoed from the kitchen, causing them both to start.

“I suppose we should go in and break up the party, before they totally destroy the kitchen,” Harry said, looking resigned at dealing with the two stubborn Malfoys.

Both drew their wands as they approached the door, the screams and crashes becoming louder by the second. As they opened the swinging door, they found Lucius and Draco on either side of the kitchen tossing hexes back and forth, kitchenware flying haphazardly around the room. Harry ducked as a plate flew over his head and crashed loudly into the wall, shattering into pieces and exploding his temper.

"That is enough!" he roared as he came back up and flung out his hand to halt all movement within the kitchen. Both the Malfoys and the flying equipment froze in midair. Harry stalked farther into the kitchen, taking in the damage as he wave his wand and banished the kitchenware back to its proper places. With another swipe, he brought the two blonds from either side of the kitchen and plunked them down into two of the hastily repaired dining chairs.

"I have had enough of this nonsense from the two of you!" Harry yelled, his eyes sparking with his anger as he looked back and forth between the two men. "For the last week, Severus and I have put up with your temper tantrums, but no more. Mr. Malfoy, your son is a grown man and has the right to determine what he wants to do with his life. Draco, your father loves you and wants only what is best for you. Both of you need to work this out before you end destroying the only family you have left and my house."

"But Harry…" Draco began, but was cut off by the glare that was shot in his direction.

"No buts, work this out or forget about coming back up to my bed, Draco."

"The same goes for you, Lucius," drawled Severus from the open doorway. Both pairs of shocked gray Malfoy eyes darted in his direction as well as the amused green eyes of Harry. "You too need to work out your problems and I would say as start to this that you will clean my kitchen and replace anything that you have broken."

"I have to agree with Severus on this one, you broke it and you are going to fix it," Harry reinforced as both Draco and Lucius both began to sputter in indignation. "In fact, you can't leave this room until it is completely fixed and fixed together." With the final word said, Harry waved his wand enforcing the wards of the room to ensure that they cooperated and couldn't leave until the room was spotless. He turned on his heel and strode from the room, Severus smirking at the two blonds before closing the door behind him.
