Chapter 5

Getting out of bed still rubbing the sleep from his eyes, Draco promptly ran into the side of the cot beside his bed and fell to his knees on top of the body lying on it. A pained grunt greeted him as he looked down into, now wide open, green eyes. “Potter? What are you doing here?”

“I am currently being crushed by a Death Eater.” Harry had expected the knee in his chest to be removed, but he was disappointed. Draco seemed frozen in place just staring at him. “Malfoy, get the fuck off of me!” Harry pushed on the pajama clad knee digging into his chest for emphasis.

Coming to his senses, Draco scrambled off of the cot knocking Harry in the head with his elbow in the process. “Sorry.” He backed away feeling very embarrassed. “I didn’t know that you would be camping right next to my bed.”

It was still very early in the morning and Harry wasn’t ready to face the day yet. “No problem.” He mumbled as he went back to sleep.

Draco slowly made his way to the kitchen to make breakfast. It was something of a shock to find that Harry had returned. Even with all of his training as a Malfoy, he couldn’t stop the grin that spread across his face. He hummed softly to himself as he assembled the ingredients that he needed to make omelets. He didn’t hear Snape enter and jumped when the man spoke.

“A little twitchy this morning aren’t you?” Snape said with amusement.

“Don’t sneak up on me like that.”

“You would have heard me if you hadn’t been making that irritating noise.” Snape sneered at the younger man to emphasize his distaste.

Draco would have been insulted but he found that he was far too cheerful to respond to the insult. Instead he redirected the conversation to the topic that he most wanted to explore. “Why did he come back? Is he going to stay? I mean ....”

“Pull yourself together!” Snape interrupted, impatient with Draco’s obvious excitement. “He is not a stray cat that you can keep. He will be staying with us for a short time to complete his training to face the Dark Lord. As soon as he wakes I will be taking him out to the clearing to asses his current abilities then we will spend the rest of the day improving them.”

“Will I be able to come with you?”

“That will depend on you. This is deadly serious and I can’t effectively give him what he needs with you drooling all over yourself as you leer at the boy.”

Hearing the water in the bathroom turning on, Draco replied in an angry whisper. “Malfoys don’t drool and I am not going to leer at him. I know what is at stake here and I will not interfere. I can’t deny that I want him, but I also know that it is impossible.” He sighed heavily. “He is with that Weasley girl so he wouldn’t be interested in me anyway.” The truth to his own statement left a heavy feeling in his chest.

Snape considered Draco carefully before nodding his head. “Very well, you can come with us today for a while. Any misconduct on your part will result in your immediate removal.” He warned.

Agreeing to the condition, Draco went back to preparing breakfast. He was placing the meal on the table when Harry walked in looking refreshed after his shower.

Harry complimented Draco on the meal but little else was said until they were all finished eating and cleaning up.

“Potter, this morning I will test your current level. Have you checked your wand for a tracking device?”

“It’s clean.” Harry replied. Hermione had checked it for him before he left and had removed the charm.

“Very good. There is a clearing near here that is a natural dead spot, we will conduct your training there.” Seeing Harry’s perplexed look, Snape elaborated. “Although our wands are clean of the tracing charms, the ministry can detect large bursts of magic. There are few places that have enough natural magic to block that detection. This cottage was build here for that reason. Draco and I use little magic in our everyday lives but, should the need arise, we can use the clearing to cast stronger spells.”

Harry still didn’t understand what created a dead spot, but he nodded and followed Draco and Snape out of the cabin and into the woods. When they reached the clearing, Harry could practically see the magic that invaded this space. It felt like a vibration running throughout his body and he shivered at the sensation. “Merlin. What causes that?” He breathed out.

A look of surprise briefly crossed Snape’s face. “You can feel the magic?”

“Oh yes!” Harry felt something akin to ecstasy as the magic pulsed through him. He leaned on the tree that he had just passed, trying to regain some control. His body was responding to the erotic sensations and his erection was pushing almost painfully against the unyielding denim of his jeans. Some part of his brain knew that he was making a spectacle of himself, but he couldn’t bring himself to care.

Snape was uncharacteristically speechless. He couldn’t tear his eyes away from Harry’s flushed face as he took little panting breaths. His own body was responding to sight and he knew he had do something to stop this situation from degrading, but for the life of him he couldn’t think of anything. He heard something that sounded like a whimper from his left and jerked his head to look at Draco, who was staring wide eyed at the sight in front of them. He was licking his lips, his eyes dark with lust. Striding rapidly back to Harry, he grabbed his arm to drag him back into the woods. As he made contact, Harry threw his head back and let out a deep moan as he found climax without ever touching himself. Snape rapidly dropped the arm that he had been holding and backed away.

Harry fell to his knees trying to collect his thoughts after the mind blowing experience. He could still feel the magic flowing through and around him, but now, with his body spent, it was simply a pleasant sensation. Now that he could think straight he found himself deeply ashamed and embarrassed. Not looking at the other men he pulled his wand and quickly cleaned himself.

Snape had heard that powerful wizards could feel the earth magic in places like this, but this reaction was unbelievable. “Well that certainly complicates things.” He commented wryly. Seeing that the dark haired young man still hadn’t lifted his head, he came to a conclusion. “Draco, go back to the house. We will be back for lunch.” Draco looked like he was about to argue, but he simply walked away. “Potter, defend yourself.” That was all the warning he gave him before he sent a barrage of spells in his direction.

Harry dived out of the way before sending a stun back at Snape. Harry spent the rest of the morning dodging, ducking, and repelling spells that Snape threw at him. He was hit several times and given no time to recover before the next spell was sent. By the time they broke for lunch, Harry was very tired and sore. He was grateful to Snape for not mentioning the earlier incident. They walked back to the cabin in companionable silence.

Draco took one look at Harry and turned an accusatory look at Snape. “What did you do to him?” Harry looked horrible. He had a black eye, several cuts, and he was scratched up pretty badly.

“Exactly when did you become his mother?” Snape drawled as he walked past the indignant blond. He heard Harry chuckle. “If you don’t like how he looks now, you might want to cover your eyes at dinner. He will look a great deal worse.” He noticed that Harry seemed unconcerned by the threat, but Draco paled noticeably.

They discussed Harry’s training over the soup and sandwiches that Draco had provided. “Your defence isn’t too bad, but you need a lot of work on your shielding charms. You will possibly be facing several Death Eaters in addition to the Dark Lord and will need to be able to block spells coming at you from multiple directions.” Snape took another bite before continuing. “Your offense is simply pathetic. It doesn’t look like they taught you much of anything. How much time do we have?”

“Not much.” Harry answered truthfully. “I need to get to him before he realizes that I have destroyed most of the Horcruxes. There is a spell that I found that will tell me if he created more, but I can’t cast it until I am ready to face him. I can only cast it at all because he shares my blood and he will feel the answer at the same time that I do.”

“Alright. If you are done eating we should get back to it. Draco, I will need your help to teach him to deflect multiple attacks.” Snape paused before directing his attention to Harry. “I need to speak to you for a moment before we leave.”

Harry nodded and rose from the table. They left Draco to clean up as they walked to the front room.

“Potter, I need for you to tell me what you felt when you first entered the clearing this morning.”

Harry’s face turned crimson. “Oh Merlin.” He looked at Snape’s impassive face and groaned. “I felt the magic flow through me. It was like a vibration that I could feel in my blood, almost like I was being caressed from both the inside and outside of my body.” Harry dropped his head. “I don’t think that I can explain it any better than that.”

Snape knew that Harry was embarrassed, but he knew they had to discuss this. It was likely to happen every time that he entered the clearing after an absence. “I think you might want to enter the clearing already satisfied.” He suggested keeping his face carefully neutral.

It took a moment for Harry to figure out what Snape was talking about. If it was possible, he turned an even brighter shade of red as he pictured jerking off every morning and after lunch, while Snape knew exactly what he was doing. He couldn’t bring himself to reply, so he simply walked past Snape to the bathroom and closed the door behind him.

Snape bit back a chuckle as he went back to the kitchen to wait with Draco. “Potter had to use the facilities. We will leave as soon as he returns.”

“Okay. Is his offense as bad as you told him?”

Snape sighed and ran a hand through his long black hair. “Yes. He is very good at the spells that he knows, but he doesn’t know enough of them. He knows spells that will temporarily put someone out of commission, which is well and good if you have a bunch of Aurors waiting to take them off to Azkaban, but he may be alone. He needs to know the spells that will take them out of the battle for good.”

They talked for awhile about what needed to happen before Draco commented on how long Harry had been gone. “Maybe we should go check on him. He might be sick or something.”

Snape smirked. “Trust me. He isn’t sick and he would not appreciate being checked on.”

Harry chose that moment to enter the room. His cheeks were pink and he didn’t meet either pair of eyes. “Lets go.” They once again walked back to the clearing. The moment that Harry entered, he felt the waves of magic flow into him, and he was very glad that he had taken Snape’s suggestion.

They trained hard until the sky began to darken. When they returned to the cabin, Draco started dinner, Snape grabbed a book and went to read in front of the fireplace, and Harry dragged himself painfully to his cot and fell face first onto it. He was in a great deal of pain, but it was outweighed by his overwhelming exhaustion. He fell asleep almost immediately.

Snape woke him later for dinner. Ignoring Harry’s protests that he wasn’t hungry he grabbed his arm and pulled him out of bed. “You need to eat. Clean yourself up and come to the kitchen.”

Grumbling loudly about sadistic Death Eaters, he made his way painfully to the bathroom. Looking in the mirror he winced. Most of his visible skin was turning unnatural colors and the tissue under his left eye was swollen and black. He cursed under his breath as he cleaned up. He was greeted in the kitchen with two potion vials. He swallowed both, not bothering to ask what they were. He smiled his gratitude as the pain relieving potion began to ease his aching body.

Dinner was a quiet affair as all three men were lost in thought. The food was, as usual, delicious. It was some kind of meat pie in a flaky crust that almost melted in Harry’s mouth. Once he started to eat he found that he was ravenous. The training had drained him physically and mentally and he was grateful that Draco was such a gifted cook. once they had eaten, Harry helped Draco clean up while Snape pulled out his cauldron and started on more pain relieving potion. Once they were done with the dishes the two younger men gravitated to the front room to relax before bed.

Draco grabbed the book that he was reading and told Harry to help himself to the bookcase. Harry selected a novel and sat next to Draco on the couch. Harry was feeling surprisingly good about his current situation. He had learned a lot in one day, and his instructors were brutal in their commitment that he would master it. In spite of the fact that he felt weak as a kitten at the moment, he knew this was exactly what he needed.

Draco split his attention between the paragraph that he kept re-reading and Harry’s face. He was pleased that the bruises were fading with the healing potion that he had consumed. He couldn’t honestly say that he was sorry for the pain he had caused. For the first time, he knew that he was doing the right thing. It was something of an Epiphany to him to realize that his entire life had been wasted up until he chose to help his former enemy. He took in the half smile on Harry’s face and couldn’t resist commenting. “What are you so happy about?”

“The irony of our current situation amuses me. I have fixated on killing Snape for three years, and hated you since the day we met. I would never have imagined shacking up with the two of you.”

Draco laughed even though his stomach fluttered at Harry’s word choice. He wanted to say that he had imagined shacking up with Harry, but he controlled himself. It wasn’t an option to flirt with man that held the fate of the wizarding world in his hands. He could almost see the look of shocked disgust that he would receive if he let slip how attractive he found the former Gryffindor.

Snape came in and sat with them. They talked for awhile about Harry’s training until soft snores made it obvious that the subject of their conversation had fallen asleep. Thinking to himself that this was becoming a habit, Snape picked up their hero and carried him to his cot. He tried not to dwell on how nice it was to hold him, but failed miserably. He had never seen anyone adapt to things as quickly as Harry did. They had thrown spell after spell at him and he blocked most of them. When he was hit, he immediately popped back up and was ready for more. They had hit him some very painful curses and not once had he complained or whined at them to stop or slow down. He knew that he was developing a strange attachment to him and it scared him more that Voldemort ever had.
