One track mind

Hermione strutted back passed the thick headed guard. He looked up from his paper and she kept looking straight ahead.

\"Are you ok Miss?\" He said gruffly, \"That\'s a dangerous man, that is.\"

Hermione spun on her heel, giving him her most furious glare.

\"Not. As. Dangerous. As. Me...\" She seethed. The man looked bewildered. Hermione gave a sharp nod, turned and continued on her way.

She left the horrid building and descended the flight of cracked grey steps. In her mind, the day had gone well. Snape had given her permission to start his appeal and she had vented her built up anger on a guard that would forget it tomorrow.

When she had arrived, he had tried to stop her going in, but she had shouted at him loud enough to wake the dead and he had probably decided that she could take care of herself.

When Hermione had walked into Snapes cell, she was sure the guard had showed her to the wrong place. The man in sitting on the moldy bed was thin, with a gaunt face and a green complexion; he was ill looking to be honest, with torn robes and no wonder considering where he was. That man looked nothing like the Professor Snape she knew; tall, with immaculate robes, alabaster skin and more body fat.

He was never over weight, but perfect for his height. Now, he looked like a stick, all wrong. Hermione sighed as she stepped gingerly onto the muddy ground at the foot of the stairs.

Well, time to get to work on persuading the Ministry to let her register the appeal. With a \'pop\' she disapperated.

Severus watched as she left the cell. He heard taking and then the guard came back to the door. He locked it and stood starring through the bars.

\"What did she want?\" He asked in a low voice.

\"That is none of you business.\" Snape said hoarsely. He wished the man would go away so he could think.

\"She\'s a feisty one, that one is,\" He said stupidly, \"I hope she gave you something to think about, you stinking death eater.\"

\"Oh, believe me,\" Severus smirked, \"She did.\"

The guard glared and left. Severus sighed; she\'d given him a couple of things to think about, actually.

First, some one actually seemed to care that he was rotting in this cell, and second, she was one hell of a vixen! For several long moments, Severus tried to focus on the first point, but his starved brain insisted on replaying every curve and contour of her perfectly formed being.

The last woman he had seen before Hermione had been some ugly, age old hag that came to gloat and take an interview. That was over three years ago.

Severus looked down at his rough, large hands. It was hard to believe that only a few moments ago her dainty one had been there, touching his skin before she left. After his taster, he was ravenous for more human contact.

Severus had to get out of here. The sooner Hermione started this thing the better. Once again he tried to think about what would be happening soon, but for the first time in five years, Severus actually felt like some pleasure. His hand slipped inside his tattered robes...

Hermione entered the Ministry of Magic and went straight to the floor of Magical Law Enforcement. The lift was empty, apart from memo\'s fluttering over head.

At her stop she left the lift and walked over to the desk. A young woman chewing bright blue gum put her magazine down as Hermione approached.

\"Hello, welcome to Magical Law Enforcement, I\'m Celsy,\" She pointed to a name badge on her chest, \"How may I help you?\"

\"I would like to talk to the head of department about an appeal involving a prisoner of Azkaban.\" Hermione said in a business like tone.

\"Well...\" Celsy consulted a diary, \"He\'s free know if you have time. If not -\"

\"Now will be fine.\" Hermione stated, cutting her off.

\"Ok, I’ll buzz you in.\" The witch said brightly, pressing a button next to the diary. After a couple of seconds she smiled at Hermione and popped her gum. \"You can go in now. The doors over there.\" She pointed to a big wooden door with beautiful carvings of birds on.

Hermione took a deep breath as she walked over to the door. She lifted her hand and knocked.
