A/N: I’ve been neglecting my reviewers! OH gosh I’m sorry. Anyways here are my comments for the last two chapters:
-angelnomiko and angel: Thanks guys. Oh and Theo was just worried about Draco’s reaction to the news.
-Linn: surprisingly I respond well to threats. LOL.
-woof : Hurrah for aggressive Hermione!
-Narcissa Black: Yeah, I never understood why people assume that Blaise is a ‘good guy’. I’ve never liked him I’m just more of a Theo fan. He’s cool and I always had hoped he would play a bigger part in the books. Oh well.
-Jay Orin: Hey thanks. For some reason I feel I should apologize for being down on myself. Is that weird?
-Master Of the Poke World: I thought I was the master of the poke world! I’ve learned that no matter how weird or twisted you are there’s always someone weirder.
-U2date: Sorry if I didn’t update soon enough.
-SunshinePie: thank you so much. Hey, did you know your review reminded me of Molly Weasley?
-Seraphim: Hi. Lol. Thanks.

A jolt of anger and betrayal hit Hermione as she saw Theodore laughing with Pansy. “Hey Mudblood!” Pansy shouted. Hermione grit her teeth and clenched her hands at her side. She would not give in. She would not get into a fight. She had managed so far not to hex Theodore during Potions class where he would constantly inquire about Draco’s wellbeing so she could certainly handle a brief taunt by Pansy in the hall.

Thoughts of fighting Pansy and Theodore flew out of her mind when she saw a familiar Red Head walking her way. She smiled. “Hey Ron.”

“Hey Hermione. You’ve been missing.” Ron laughed as he abandoned wherever he was going and fell into step with her.

“Have I?” She said raising her eyebrow.

“Yeah.”

“and you’ve just noticed this?”

“Well…yeah,” He blushed, “I just thought that maybe you were, you know, growing apart from us. I don’t know,” He shrugged, “But…well…I’ve been missing you a lot cause, well, see, not that I didn’t miss you before but….well….Harry’s been spending a lot of time with Luna lately and I suppose he fancies her.”

“Oh?” Hermione questioned, “He’s left you in the dark then?”

“What do you mean?”.

“Well he hasn’t told you that he’s dating Luna.”

“What?!” Ron said incredulously.

“Ginny told me.”

”And she didn’t tell me?!”

“maybe she figured that you would know.” Hermione offered.

“No,” Ron sighed, “I think she’s still mad at me for dropping the Quaffle when Millicent smiled at me.”

Hermione snorted “Was her smile that bad?”

“No! It was….well…it was nice. She-She isn’t that bad looking.” Ron blushed.

She smiled. “I see. So when did this happen?”

“Last week- first game. Slytherin versus Gryffindor. You were there weren’t you?”

Hermione blushed. “Welll….no….I guess I haven’t been keeping up with Quidditch so far this year.”

“Yeah, neither is Malfoy. I heard he quit the team. They got Zabini playing seeker in his place. I hate to admit it but Zabini’s rather good.”

“Really.” Hermione said stiffly. If there was one person she hated more than Nott and his father it was….well truthfully it was Voldemort but Zabini came in at a close second.

“Are you okay?” Ron asked.

“Oh… yes.”

“Are you sure, you look, extra tired or something.” Poor Ron didn’t know how true that statement was. It had been a week since Hermione had found out how Draco had became pregnant and who done it, it had also been a week since he had kissed her in the moonlight, and it had been for a week that she’d been the sole caregiver of Draco. It had been a hard week for the both of them. Since Theodore’s “betrayal” as the duo referred to it Hermione had to find ways to protect Draco and cast the concealment charm on him by herself, she had to make sure her Prefects duties were in sync with Draco’s, and she still had to prepare his meals. So true it was that Hermione was and looked extra tired.

“Well I guess….” Hermione stopped mid-sentence and felt her heart flutter when she saw Draco running towards her from the other end of the hall. It had been during Potions class- as she caught herself looking over at him more than necessary- that Hermione realized that she didn’t just care about him for Draco’s child but she actually truly cared for him. The thought was more than a little disturbing. Sure they had shared an awkward kiss in the moonlight but at the time it was because he was emotional and how could she have turned him down? But now….well, now she wished he’d kiss her again.

Draco threw a dirty look in Ron’s direction before saying “Granger. I need to talk to you.”

“What do you want Malfoy?” Ron snarled.

“Ron,” Hermione scolded, “Let me handle this. Why don’t you go? I’ll catch up with you. I promise.”

“But Hermione!” Ron looked scandalized.

“Really, Ron. Dray…Malfoy and I just got partnered up in…in Arithmancy for a project….and we need to work on it. Right Dr-Malfoy?”

Draco nodded.

“Alright,” Ron said suspiciously “But I’ll see you later right? How about you meet me tonight at 7 in front of the Fat Lady?”

“Of course.” Hermione said.

“Good. And you better watch it Malfoy, if you hurt her…”

“Ron!”

“Fine. I’ll go. Just be careful.” Hermione waited until she was sure Ron was out of hearing distance before she turned to Draco, “Is everything okay?”

“yeah I suppose.” He pouted.

Hermione blinked. ”What do you mean you suppose?”

“It’s just that,” Draco said quietly, “you promised to meet me in the library after lunch only you never showed up and…”

Hermione gasped, “OH Draco! I’m so sorry. I completely forgot, I was studying for the Defense test and then I made your food schedule for tomorrow. How did you do on the test by the way?”

“Okay I think but Hermione can we please go to the library now? You can do your homework there. I just don’t want to be alone right now.”

“Draco are you alright?”

“Yes, I’m just….I feel a little lonely right now.” Draco said shyly. Hermione sighed. She loved how cute he was when he was pouting or emotional but she also missed his spunky not so nice side. “Alright. Let’s go.”

Draco looked across the table at Hermione licking the tip of her fingers before turning a page of the book she was reading and he thought about how perfect it had seemed when he had kissed her. No, he would never know what had inspired him to do it but ever since, plus with how well she handled the news of his rape and having to watch over him all by her lonesome, Draco had become fascinated (from the tone of her voice, the curves of her hips, down to the way she smelled like honey) with Hermione Granger.

“I’m glad we only have single Potions tomorrow.” Hermione said offhandedly, “I don’t think I’d be able to deal with the Traitor for a double class which reminds me I have a care of magical creatures test on Friday so if you could meet me outside after your break so I can perform the charm that would be better than having to go find you.”

“Yeah.” Draco said. Having Hermione help him with his pregnancy was one thing, hell, even kissing her had been one thing, but having to rely solely on the Mud…muggleborne girl because he was pregnant was rather difficult for Draco. “I wonder what father would say if he knew I was pregnant.”

Hermione laughed nervously, “Well, I wonder what he would say if he knew you had kissed the enemy.”

He laughed too, “Yeah.” They hadn’t really talked about the kiss. “He’d be shocked.”

“Hermione,” Draco said as they walked from the restricted section. “I’d like to talk to you in private.”

“We were just in private, Draco.” Hermione rolled her eyes. Perhaps the pregnancy had messed with his mind.

“No but I mean….you know…with no chance of being overheard.” He said and motioned toward the stairs.

“OH. Alright.” She smiled at him and followed. She found it amazing how she trusted him so easily but she knew he couldn’t possibly try anything in his condition. She shook her head as she realized they were in the astronomy tower and he was standing right in front of her with an curious look on his face. “Er. Did you say something?”

“No.” He said quietly, “I…I just wanted to thank you, Hermione.”

“Thank me?” Hermione frowned.

“For-For everything.”

She blushed, “Oh. Welll..Well you’re welcome Draco. I…”

“Hermione,” He said softly stepping closer to her, “can I kiss you?” Not knowing what else to do she nodded and moved closer to him…

“You had me so worried!” Both Draco and Hermione jumped back and snapped their heads around. It was Ron. “I thought something must have happened because you never bail out of anything and so I come in search of you and I catch you with this slimy git!”

“Ron!”

“What Hermione, didn’t think I’d come look for you? It’s eight thirty we were supposed to meet at seven!”

“Oh Ron I forgot and….”

“Because you were making out with HIM! Don’t tell me you love him.”

“Yes! No! I mean….listen Ron... I…oh Gods. Ron, there’s something….” She looked at Draco who nodded moodily. “you have to promise you’ll keep an open mind.”

“Oh gods. You’re lovers!”

“No. Ron. You want to know why I’ve been missing as you said?”

“Yes.” Ron said stiffly.

“I’ve been helping Malfoy…”

“Oh God! You’re a death eater now?!”

“NO!!”

“Then what could you possibly be helping HIM with?!”

It was Sunday night and Draco and Hermione were sitting next to each other in the Astronomy tower going over some Arithmancy notes. “So if you take…”

“You look beautiful tonight.” Draco said suddenly.

Hermione blushed, “er. Thank you Draco.” She felt her heart pump quicker as he ran his fingers down her cheek. “Actually, you look beautiful every night.”

“Draco…!” Hermione gasped as without warning he pressed his lips against hers. Everything about the kiss was perfect there was no nose bumping, no lip smashing, there was just pure loving passion.

“Hermione.” Draco whispered against her lips. Hermione sighed and pushed him off lightly. “I…it’s early curfew tonight. We-we need to go on our rounds.”

Draco cast his eyes down and sighed, “I’m sorry.”

“Oh Draco it’s okay I just….i don’t want to take advantage of you.”

Draco laughed, “What are you talking about?”

“Your pregnant Draco, you’re emotional ….it’s….it’s your hormones.” Hermione said a bit sadly.

Draco smiled gently, “Your only partly right Hermione. It’s not my pregnancy that’s affecting my hormones ….it’s you.” He kissed her again and this time she didn’t push him away.

Draco scanned the common room quickly as he walked in; Crabbe was doing homework, Theodore was feeding Pansy a submarine sandwich, Blaise and Goyle were playing chess, and Millicent, Daphne, and Tracy looked like they were sitting in a circle playing some kind of game. He was almost to his dorm room when he stepped on Millicent’s cat’s tail. The cat shrieked causing Millicent to look up. She frowned, then she looked at Draco’s face and exclaimed, “Wow Dray, you look thoroughly snogged.” Draco blushed. Was it that obvious? Yes he had been making out with Hermione for a good part of the last half-hour but he didn’t realize it was visible.

“Ooooo who have you been with Draco?” Tracy Davis asked excitedly.

“Oh what do you care Davis?” Millicent spat, “It’s not like you would know what actually happens during a make out session. Who have you been with lately, huh? Has Professor Snape finally sunk so low?” Blaise and Goyle laughed. “That was funny! Wasn’t it Blaise.” Millicent said. Blaise frowned and then nodded “yes of course Millie.”

“Shut up Milli-Cent! At least I wasn’t flirting with Pauper Weasely!”

“Yeah,” Said Pansy- mouth full of sandwich- “I thought you loved Blaise.”

“Oh! Now I know what to do!” Exclaimed Daphne, “Millicent I dare you to ask out Pauper Weasley!”

“I never said I’d do a dare!” Millicent snarled.

“Okay then….” Daphne said as if she had just triumphed in something, “Truth: How many times a week do you masturbate?”

Millicent blushed, “I’ll take the dare.” Everyone laughed. Pansy said, “Come sit here with us Dray-co.”

“Er. No. I got to do some homework and stuff.” Draco said. For a moment he had completely forgotten about everything.

“Aw Draco your no fun anymore!” Tracy said.

“Yeah Draco,” Blaise smirked, “You’ve been so emotional lately.”

Draco sighed and walked away.

He had a transfigurations test to be studying for but he just couldn’t concentrate. He was lying on his bed in complete shock. Well, shocked was not the word for it; confounded, dismayed, appalled no none of those words, even combined, could accurately described what Ronald Weasley was feeling. (“Draco is… is….he’s pregnant.”) He had laughed when Hermione had told him and in turn Malfoy became mad and yelled (“SEE!”) and undid a concealment charm and then started crying. His stomach was….huge! Draco Malfoy his worst enemy besides Voldemort was pregnant. Ron had yelled (“Who the hell buggered Malfoy?) Hermione slapped him for it (“Ron! Don’t be insensitive!”) and then she asked him to keep it a secret! (“Please Ron you can’t tell anyone. Not even Harry.”) She redid the concealment charm and explained how she had become FRIENDS! With Malfoy, how Nott had betrayed them (“I-I won’t tell you what but…but what he did is unforgivable”) and then she had the nerve to ask HIM to help! (“It would be great if you could help. Just think about it okay Ron?”) Argh! Ron slammed his fist into his pillow. It didn’t make sense! Hermione was the most intelligent person he had ever met and he had never known her to do something stupid….yet…yet being friends with Malfoy, helping him when she could have been ridiculing him….that didn’t make any sense. Suddenly Ron felt very alone. No Harry (he was too busy with Luna), no brothers (all of them were busy), no sister (Ginny refused to talk to him), and no Hermione.

“Hey mate.”

“Huh?” Ron looked up from his bed. Seamus was standing by the door to the Dormitory wearing a ridiculous looking grin “Someone is in the common room wanting to see you.”

“Hermione?” He asked hopefully.

Seamus’ grin became more mischievous, “The Slytherin Chaser- Millicent Bulstrode.”

Draco walked around the table in the Restricted Section and pecked Hermione on the cheek. “Hi.” He said.

“Hi Draco.” Hermione said.

“What you reading?”

“A book on….guess the subject.”

“Uh, Arithmancy.” Hermione shook her head, “Potions? Herbology?” (‘no’) “Uh….OH I KNOW! Quidditch.”

Hermione laughed, “no!”

“Pregnancy?”

“Of course.”

“I thought you already read the entire set of pregnancy/ male pregnancy books in the library.”

“I did. But THIS,” She pointed to the book, “Is from the Hogesmeade Library!”

“I see. But I thought Theo…erm….” Draco mumbled.

“Well yes, but I thought I should have a look myself.”

Draco nodded. “So did you hear that Weasel and Millie are going on a date tonight?”

“You know I don’t’ care much for gossip,” Hermione said, “but yes I did hear.”

“Have you…have you talked to him since that day?”

“No.” Hermione sighed, “but he’ll come around. But if he does agree to help you you can’t call him Weasel.”

“Why not?”

“Because it’s rude!”

Draco laughed, “OH alright. Can I at least kiss you in front of him?”

“If you don’t mind seeing him throw up afterwards.” Hermione said.

“Your not going home for break are you?” Draco asked.

“Of course not! How could you think that!”

“I don’t know.”

“Draco I wouldn’t abandon you like that….besides…” Hermione smiled mischievously, “we get nearly the whole school to ourselves.”

“Are you sure Severus?”

Severus sighed and continued his pacing of Dumbledore’s office. “No. I can’t be sure unless he gives consent to a test….I’ve talked to Lucius and he says he hasn’t spoken with Draco for months.”

“And are you sure Draco would tell his father if he was pregnant.”

“It’s his father! Of course he’d tell him. Lucius loves Draco….loves him more than himself. Even more than he hates muggles! Draco knows this.”

“So did you tell Lucius of your suspicion?”

“Of course not! I didn’t want to be the cause of an Azkaban Breakout….because you know Lucius could do it if he was really inclined to. And if he found out that Draco was possibly pregnant…that would give him enough incentive.”

“Hm. And what of your other suspicion?”

“Narcissa would have known if he had been initiated into the Death Eaters…. The Dark Lord….he requires parental consent if the individual is underage.”

“Indeed?” Dumbledore raised an eyebrow.

“He has some morals.” Severus rolled his eyes. “Besides. I’ve never really seriously believed that Draco being a death eater was the case. The Dark Lord was rather upset with Lucius I don’t see why he’d want to ask another Malfoy to join his ranks. I don’t know. Pregnancy is the best answer we have. I’ll keep looking for other clues and if I can’t figure it out I’ll just confront him about it.”

“Well that’s settled then. It’s not like his grades have fallen or anything like that.” And then changing the subject Dumbledore said, “So, did you here Miss. Bulstrode and Mr. Weasley were going on a date tonight?”

“You can trust me Draco. I promise to keep it secret. Whatever it is. I love you and I know something is wrong!” Pansy said. It was frightfully cold but Draco was standing outside waiting for Hermione to send off Potter and Luna and therefore could not avoid Pansy. Of course perhaps being with Pansy was better than being inside and having to avoid the Traitor who had for some odd reason chosen to stay at Hogwarts for the break.

Draco shook his head, “I’m sorry Pans.”

Pansy scoffed, “so it isn’t my imagination. Your loyalties have changed.”

“Wha-What do you mean by that?”

“DO not think that I haven’t seen you gallivanting with the Mudblood. It’s so obvious you’ve been confiding something in her”

“Don’t call her a Mudblood!”

“Oh Gods! Now you’re defending her!” Pansy cried, “What’s wrong with you Draco Lucius….”

“Pansy!” Blaise called from a nearby carriage, “Come on. You can share a carriage with us.”

“Thank you Blaise.” She called sweetly and headed toward the carriage. Before she entered she called over her shoulder, “Goodbye Draco. I hope you figure your crap out during break because you’ve changed. And I don’t like it.”
