Interventions

Disclaimer: As with the first chapter, anything you recognize from other sources belong to that source. The freemans and anything associated to them are, while not MY invention (the DM of the Robotect/Rifts/Riftech game I played in invented the concept) this is my spin on things.

Dudley was amazed when he saw where Harry\'d always gone to school. It was so Old-Fashioned. It was nothing like the Freeman School. When he saw how the students were sorted into houses he was amazed. The Hat was ANCIENT. While he didn\'t have the skill with psychometry that some of his classmates he could tell.

\"Ah,\" Dudley heard in his head \"another Muggle born. You seem to be a bit lazy, but you have a cunning mind. Not much bravery and you only have loyalty to people like yourself. You have a thirst to prove that you\'re better than others. I\'ve got the Perfect place for you....\"

\"SLYTHERIN!!!\" The hat yelled.

Dudley got up from the stool and went over to the table of the house he was sorted into. Looking across the way he saw Harry at the Gryffindor table. Turning to his best friend Piers, who was also in Slytherin, \"I\'m just glad we weren\'t sorted into THAT house. Definately poor neighbors there.\"

Blaise Zabini walked up.

\"You seem to KNOW Black.\" He said.

\"I knew him when he was named \'Potter.\'\" Dudley said. \"Unfortunately, he\'s my cousin.\"

\"Was he always the way he is now?\" Blaise asked. \"Or has he gotten worse?\"

\"I\'ve not seen him since we were 5.\" Dudley said. \"He was a FREAK then, and I don\'t believe that could be any better now.\"

Blaise made a mental note to find out what the definition of \"Freak\" was in this instance. \"Welcome to Slytherin.\" He said as he walked away.

First class the next day was Potions with the Slytherins. Harry and Draco showed up early so that they could try to speak with Sirius before class.

\"Dad!\" Harry said. \"Did you hear, Dudley is at Hogwarts and was sorted into Slytherin house.\"

\"Harry,\" Sirius said, \"you don\'t have to worry. He can\'t hold the same opinions because now he wields magic himself. Besides, it\'s not like you can\'t defend yourself now. Heaven knows we paid enough to get you into the additional summer training in Self-defense and Weaponry along with several of the other New-Agers dealing directly with the Coreys and Freemans.\"

\"So if he says something out of the way,\" Draco asked, \"we can handle it as we see fit?\"

\"You\'re the sons of a Marauder!\" Sirius said. \"You\'re only in trouble if you get caught!\"

\"It\'s also not like we have to look like ourselves if we confront him.\" Harry said.

Suddenly there were two Professor Blacks standing in the room.

\"Harry!\" Sirius said. \"I wish you wouldn\'t do that. If there were other witnesses, I\'d have to take points so change back now.\"

\"Sorry Dad.\" Harry said. He changed back just as everyone else began to filter into the classroom.
