Epilogue
Hermione Granger-Malfoy smiled happily as she watched her husband of five years, Draco Malfoy, slept beside her. His hand rested on her nine month pregnant belly where their third child was waiting to be born. It was a girl this time. She was sure of it. They already had two boys, six year old Alexander, and his younger brother, three year old, Bryan Michael. Narcissa was jumping for joy at the chance of spoiling a granddaughter. She already did a good job with Alex and Bryan. Hermione already had the feeling of her daughter having Draco wrapped around her little fingers. She was going to be daddy's little princess. She was also due around the same time Harry was to have his and Severus' first child. Yes, you heard it right. Through many painstaking years and several pregnancy potions which Severus concocted himself, and several nights of heavy breathing and sex, Harry became pregnant.
Hermione felt movement next to her, and she looked down to see Draco was waking up. His silver blue eyes opened up, and he smiled seeing that she was watching him. "Hey, how long have you been up?" he asked.
"A while," she said.
"Did you watch me sleep the whole time?" he asked.
"I like to watch you sleep," she said, "You're peaceful when you sleep." Draco chuckled. "You feeling okay?" she asked.
"Yeah, I just miss my Nana," he said. Draco's grandmother, Latrice Malfoy, had suddenly died two nights ago. They just had her funeral yesterday. Narcissa had gone to live in France, leaving Malfoy Manor for the young couple to live in. Hermione had quit teaching after marrying Draco. She was now a full time wife and mother while Draco played school governor and Potions professor at Hogwarts. Alex had started primary school. Something Hermione insisted to Draco that their children attended. To her surprise he agreed. Both Alex and Bryan were excited to be getting a baby sibling. They both wanted a sister seeing as they were brothers. Hermione smiled at the thought of having a daughter. In no time she would be braiding hair, giving advice on boys, playing dress up and being the nervous parent while she was out on her first date. She'd leave the 'Touch my daughter and I'll kill' threat to Draco. "Hey, what are you thinking about?" he asked.
"About this little one, and that it's a girl." Draco groaned. "What?" she asked.
"First child to worry about when boys notice her," he said, "First boyfriend, First date, first kiss. First time to worry about if I'm going to be a grandfather a little too soon." Hermione smacked her husband on the arm.
"Draco Alexander Malfoy, you should be ashamed of yourself," she said, "Thinking your daughter might become a ...."
"That's not what I meant," he defended himself.
"Then what did you mean?" she asked. When Draco didn't answer her right away, she got out of bed, and headed into the bathroom. Draco tried to follow her, but she shut the door in his face.
"Hermione, I didn't mean for it to sound that way. I'm just nervous about raising a daughter, that's all." Hermione slowly opened the door, and searched Draco's face. He had a look of worry on his face. "I've always had bad feelings about how well I help you raise the children," he said. "Now I'm really going to worry because raising a girl is different." Draco watched Hermione's lip quiver before taking his wife into his arms. "I'm sorry about the comment, love," he said.
"It's fine," she said, "It's just that ..."
"What?"
"Our daughter is ready to challenge you," she said.
"What?" he asked not understanding what she said.
"I'm in labor, you dolt."
"Oh, come on."
Draco rushed his wife to St. Mungo's. He owled the necessary people, and got Molly to take Alex and Bryan. As if nothing were going right that day, when Draco and Hermione arrived at the hospital, they found Severus sitting in the waiting room. It appeared that Harry had gone into labor as well, and was awaiting to have a cesarean done. Hermione was taken to a room where she sat in labor for mostly all day. She wanted a natural muggle birth like she had with Alex and Bryan, and what she wanted she got. Draco was pacing when Severus came out of the ob room to tell him that him and Harry's son had arrived. "That's good news, Sev."
"How's Hermione?" he asked.
"She's still in labor," Draco said, "She's having a muggle birth again."
"She could be in labor all day," Severus said.
"Don't say that!" Draco snapped, "Sorry," he said right away. Just then a nurse came in, and gestures to Draco.
"You're wife is fully dilated, Mr. Malfoy," she said, "She's being moved into the delivery room." Draco did not have to be told twice. He was down the hallway with the nurse before Severus could say 'Good luck'. Hermione was breathing evenly when Draco entered the room.
"Hermione, how are you feeling?" he asked. He immediately regretted asking the question when she gave him her Malfoy glare. A trait she inherited when she married him. "Sorry. Hey, good news, Harry and Sev have a son."
"That's great. How's Harry?"
"I'm sure he's fine." Draco took a hold of her hand, knowing from Bryan's birth what to do. "How are you? Really?"
"Fine, except for when I'm having a contraction." No sooner than she said that, a contraction went through her, and she squeezed down on Draco's hand.
"Ow, love, you're hurting my hand," he said.
"Serves you right for putting me into this position," she said, "Harry was lucky he didn't have to do this."
"All right," the healer said, "Are we ready to have this baby?"
"Yes!" both Hermione and Draco said at the same time.
Fifteen minutes later, Draco held in his arms his beautiful baby girl, Rosalind Latrice Malfoy. She had Hermione's chestnut hair and his eyes only more blue than sliver. She was a little angel, and in other words, perfect. Hermione lay in the bed watching father and daughter bond with a smile on her face. Severus was already by to see the little princess, and to show off his own bundle of joy, James Tobias Potter-Snape. Narcissa was already calling stores to pick out their best little dresses. Alex and Bryan loved their little sister, and loved their little cousin just as much. The three children went on to attend Hogwarts getting placed in Gryffindor, Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw, a real surprise for their parents. James Tobias ended up in Ravenclaw with Rosalind, or "Rosie" for short. The two formed a bond, and suddenly announced they were dating in fifth year. They ended up getting married two years after graduating from Hogwarts. Not many people believed that Draco and Hermione's marriage would last. It did, for 65 wonderful years. All it took was a little bet with Hermione Granger to tame the heart of Draco Malfoy.
