This is a long one, I hope you enjoy it.
Chapter 5: The Inheritance
Remus and Harry apparated outside Gringgotts. Going inside they asked to see the goblin in charge of the Potter estate. They were lead to an office in the back. A goblin sitting behind a desk stood and motioned for them to sit.
“ Good morning Mr. Potter, Mr. Lupin, I’m Gribblin thank you for coming. “ He sat back down again. “ Now that you are of age all of the assets from the Potter estate and your inheritance from Sirius Black now come under your control. Would you like to visit the vaults or shall I go over the asset list first? “
Harry thought about it and decide to check out the vaults first. Gribblin called for another goblin to take them down to the vaults. “ Please take your time and when you are finished we will go over the rest. “
Harry and Remus followed the other goblin out of the office, down another hallway to the enterance of the underground caverns.
“ Why did we not go back through the main bank area?” asked Harry.
“ Most of the clients that deal with the estate managers prefer not to have their business known to others. That hallway is to ensure their privacy, “ stated the goblin.
“ Oh ok, that makes sense, “ said Harry.
They got into a cart and went rocketing into the depths. “ Would you like to see the Black or Potter vault first, “asked the goblin.
“ The Black vault I guess. “
The cart zoomed down a new tunnel and came to a stop in front of a large door. “ The Black family vault sir.” The goblin hopped out of the cart and turned a key in the lock. The door slid open to reveal another door. This one had a hand shaped indentation. “ Please place you hand on the door Mr. Potter” the goblin asked. Harry did what he was told, the spot glowed and the door sprang open. “ Go ahead Mr. Potter “.
Harry walked inside and gasped. The vault must have been twice the size of his other one. Along the back wall there was galleons, sickles and knuts piled nearly to the ceiling. The right hand side had chests filled with jewellery and dark art items. On the left hand side there were bookcases filled with old books (mostly dark arts) and several portraits. Right in the middle was a classic motorcycle.
“ Sirius’s bike! “ Remus proclaimed. “ Man I have not seen this thing in a long time. “
“ Is this the bike that Hagrid used to bring me to the Dursley’s? “ Harry asked gently touching the motorcycle.
“ This is the one. “ Remus checked the motorcycle over. “ It appears to be in one piece. “
“ Have you ever rode it, “ asked Harry.
“ Yes, Sirius let me ride it a few times although that was almost twenty years ago. Why do you ask? “
“ I would like to take it with us. We could always ride it to Grimmauld Place and really freak them out “ Harry said smirking.
“ You are a major brat you know, “ chuckled Remus. “ Sure Harry we can take it with us, we need to hold off riding it ok. Look around and see if there is anything else you may want. “
Harry looked through the books, choosing a few and then decided to check out the portraits.
“ Oh! “ Harry cried out, “ Remus come here. “
Remus rushed to Harry’s side to see what he was looking at. There leaning against the wall was a portrait of a teenaged Sirius. “ Would you like to take that back to the house Harry “ Remus asked gently. Harry nodded, never taking his eyes of the portrait.
“ Are you ready to go and see the Potter vault now Harry? “ Harry nodded again. “ Could you see that the motorcycle and the other items that Mr. Potter chose are bought up, “ Remus asked the goblin.
“ They will be sent to the address of your choice, “ the goblin stated. “ Please follow me back to the cart and we can view the Potter vault next. “
Harry and Remus followed the goblin out of the vault and climbed back into the cart. Immediately it zoomed away deeper into the caverns. After a few harrowing minutes the cart stop in front of a very old looking door. This vault had even more elaborate locks. The goblin had to use a key, say a password and Harry had to prick his finger and let a drop of blood flow across a coat of arms on the door before it would open.
If Harry was surprised at the size and contents of the Black vault he was absolutely dumb-founded at the Potter vault. The vault must have been the size of his dorm room. 1/3 was filled to the ceiling with coins and gems. Another 1/3 was filled with antiques and artwork. The final 1/3 was filled with bookcases, chests filled with jewellery and everyday wizarding items such as cauldrons. There was also a large case filled with weapons and wands.
“ Oh my god! “ Harry exclaimed. “ I don’t know where to look first.“
“ It is quite alot to take in isn’t it, “ said Remus.
“ Let’s start with the books. If you see anything that would be useful to my training put it aside please “ said Harry.
“ Sure Harry. “
They both took a bookcase and started to look through the books. “ Remus look at what I found “ Harry said excitedly. “ Is this what I think it is? “
Remus looked at the book in Harry’s hand. “ Yes I think that is the book they used to become animagi.”
“ I ‘m definitely taking this with me. “ Harry put the book aside and continued sorting through the shelves.
Once they were done sorting the books and had piled the ones Harry was taking by the door they decided to check out the weapons cabinet. There were swords and daggers of different sizes. There were also several different wands. One in particular caught his attention. It was ebony, 12 inches with runes etched along it. Harry reached for it, the moment he touched the wand it glowed. He picked it up and the vault was lit up with sparks.
“ Incredible! To have someone else’s wand react like that to you is amazing “ said Remus.
“I think I will take this as well. Having two wands will come in handy I’m sure. I wonder whom it belongs to? “ Harry picked up the box it was in. “ Oh my god, this says the wand was Merlin’s, how is that possible? “
Remus examined the box and wand. “ I don’t know Harry. James never said anything about Merlin being an ancestor, this is quite unexspected. Well we have better get going if you still want to do some shopping.”
“ Ok “.
Harry grabbed the wand and a couple of wand holsters. He also added a couple of daggers and a sword to the pile by the door. He filled up his moneybag and taking one last look around left the vault.

After they returned to the surface they were lead back to Gribblin’s office.
“Well Mr. Potter was everything to your satifaction? “
“ Yes I found many interesting things “.
“ Shall the items you selected be sent to the Black estate home? “
“ Yes please. “
“ May I go over the status of the estates with you? “ Harry nodded. “ These numbers will be approximates, if you want exact numbers it will take a few days. “
“ Approximates are fine “ said Harry.
“ Ok Mr.Potter the combined total of the Black, Potter and your personal vaults would be as follows: money approximately fifty million galleons... “
Harry gasped in shock. “ F-f-fifty m-m-million galleons ?? “
“ Well that is a very rough estimate and does not include sickles and knutts. “
Harry gulped “ Dear Merlin! “
Gribblin continued “ other assets such as furniture, works of art, jewellery and weapons are worth approximately twenty-five million galleons. ‘
Harry paled.
“ Dear me Mr. Potter, are you all right? Would like some water? “ Harry just nodded. The goblin conjured a glass for Harry who drank it down in one gulp.
“ Are you ready to continue? “ asked the goblin.
“ C-continue!! There’s more “ squeaked Harry.
“ Yes a few more items “ stated Gribblin. “ You know of the property that was the Black family home but the Potters had two properties as well. The ancestoral home is an un-plottable, heavily warded property. You can access this property by touching this signet ring on the crest three times”. He handed Harry the ring. Harry slipped the ring on his finger and it glowed and sized itself to fit.
“ The other property has been rebuilt after the damage it sustained 16 years ago “.
“ Godric Hollow “, whispered Harry. Remus squeezed his shoulder.
“ Yes that’s the one, “ said Gribblin. “ That property can also be keyed to the ring if you would like “. Harry nodded and handed the ring to the goblin. He muttered some words and the ring glowed. “ Tap the ring on the middle stone twice to access that home. All of the wards on these properties will be keyed only to you. You must take anyone else you wish to allow through the wards through them. Once they have been at your house the wards will recognize them and if they have a proper password, decided by you, them the person may enter the property “.
“ Did Professor Dumbledore know about these properties? “ asked Harry.
“ He knew they existed but not all the details, “ said Gribblin.
“ Oh ok “ said Harry.
“ Well that all the assets, how else may I help you? “
“ I plan to do alot of shopping both in Diagon Alley and muggle London. Is there any way to purchase items without carrying a large amount of money with me? “
“ Of course “ said Gribblin. “ I can set you up with a muggle credit card and a special moneybag that will fill with the amount you need automaticly. The credit card bill will come to the bank and be paid from your account monthly and the other comes directly out of your account. The three vaults will be combined into one to make it easier for you. This key will open the Potter vault along with the other security features of course.” He handed Harry the key.
“ The charge for these services is 50 Galleons a month, are you agreeable to that? “ Harry nodded. “ Fine I will have them ready in a few minutes”.
The goblin left the office, returning moments later with a plattium credit card and a black money bag. “ To use the bag say the amount you need and touch the bag with your wand. The money will appear in it. The bag has an anti-theft charm on it and can only be activated by you. I have also converted some galleons to muggle currency for you so you may use that as well as your credit card. “
“ Thank you. You have been such a great help to me,” said Harry.
“ No thanks are necessary it is my job to serve you. Ask for me the next time you come to the bank. You will be shown to my office directly and do not have to wait in line anymore “.
Harry thanked the goblin again and they left the bank.
“ Ready to shop ‘til we drop Remus? “ asked Harry gleefully. Before Remus could answer Harry’s stomach growled loudly.
“ I think we need to eat before you drop, “ answered Remus.
“ I guess you’re right, eat first then shop. “ Harry pouted.
“ Ok Harry lets go, “ laughed Remus. The two started toward the shops to find something to eat.
