Chapter 4
A/N: No rape scene, sorry, maybe another time. Anyway, I’m back! I sent all of my lovely reviewers E-Mail and, the hell hole they call school permitting, I shall be writing regularly now. Thanks. Anyway, I’m going to start in on the talking today, so, yay!
Chapter 4
“Ah! Mum! We’ve been walking all day!” Whined the long haired red headed Ron Weasley beside Harry. He had been complaining for the better part of the last hour, but they had walked a long way. “Muuuuuummmmm.” He called out to her unhearing form several paces in front of them, Mr. Weasley right beside her. “Muuu--” “Ronald Weasley. One more word out of you and I will make you *walk* all the way back home and not spend the day with the rest of us.” Ginny was snickering at this point, and Ron hit her on the back of the head. “Mum! He hit me!” She called, to Ron’s rolling eyes. “Not you too, Ginny! Both of you stop.” She turned to give them both a stern glare before walking again.
Harry, meanwhile, was not thinking on their trip but rather the book in his bag. What would he find in it next? What would him writing in it do?… Or, maybe he wasn’t thinking about the trip because of the heat. It felt as if his brain had fried a few miles back and he should have collapsed by now. That’s when he heard the most blessed two words in the history of their language. “We’re here.”
They were, at this point, out in the woods and had been walking out in the woods for a time before they came to the long clearing, complete with pond, they did now. The water shone, sunlight of the morning sparkling on it’s surface as the trees they had been walking through opened up. “Wow!” Exclaimed Hermione, who had till now been mostly silent, advancing. It was just the six of them, whatever picnic they had made, and that water that, from where they all stood, looked cool and inviting.
“Come on then, lets go!” Ron yelled, sprinting for the water and jumping in, leaving two angry girls and one glaring Mrs. Weasley to contend with when he finally got out.

Time flies when your having fun? Well, it does. Harry had a blast with his friends all afternoon, and the book had not again crossed his mind after he had hit the water. The day had been splendid, warm sun and cool water, good friends to spend the day with. If not for the one misunderstanding where he ‘accidentally’ groped Ron, but that was once. The rest of the day went off without a hitch.
“I’m tir….ed.” Punctuated by a yawn, it came from the smallest female of the pack, who was currently carried on her taller brother’s back. Her head slumped against his, causing a mass of read hair and his blue eyes, along with flashes of pale skin, being all that was seen.
“We all are.” Hermione commented, watching as the house in the distance, as they had been walking, came closer and closer into view. Soon, they were upon the steps and all falling into the house. Murmurs were all that was heard, all that anyone had energy for as the moon was already high in the sky, it was fairly late at night. Everyone sluggishly got ready for bed, Harry slowly sliding out of his cloths to take a bath before bed.
Hermione was asleep by the time he came into the room, toweling off his body as he crawled into his fluffy, dark pajamas and into bed. He lay for long minutes, willing sleep to come, yet it never did. He absently wondered why as he yawned, sitting up and scrubbing at his head. Bathed in moonlight as his eyes cast about the room for something to help him sleep, and his eyes fell on the small bag he had taken with him.
His thoughts again turned to the book, and he decided to take a look. Pulling it out and undoing the simple locking charm, he opened it. Ah, there it was, fresh hand writing below his own.
/ Today was usual. Nothing happened at all, except maybe a little discomfort… As to be expected. My father and mother have yet to return… I don’t wonder where they are. Today alone was wonderful for me, even if I do not have much to look forward to… I rode my broom, practiced in the air a little, and had a generally good day… I also found writing in here… I did not do it. I wonder wh---/
Wow, more… He thought over this for a moment, then decided to recap what he knew. This… This ‘Dragon’ most likely did not know he could read this, or he would not have said he wondered. He was in some kind of pain or trouble… From a him, and he was a wizard. Was someone hurting him? At any rate, he would try again. He slowly pulled his ink and quill from his trunk nearby, setting it on the bed and uncapping the ink.
// I am writing in here. I’m not a ghost or anything… But I can see your writing. This is weird, because obviously you can see mine… Who are you? //
Harry wrote, watching as the ink slowly settled. He wondered… Would he see more as it was written?… He decided to see. He waited, and waited, and waited. For a long time, so long he began to lightly doze, head resting against the wall when he saw it. A long line, not steady, looking as if it were attempts at writing by an unsteady hand. Then, words.
/ Wh---/ It broke off, not able to interpret the rest, then it continued. / you? --- I know --- / He blinked at the illegible handwriting. But was astounded it wrote back. But, if he couldn’t read it… It wouldn’t at all help. He narrowed his eyes, then sighed. The new developments were interesting… But… He sighed, he would figure it out in the morning. He replaced the locking charm, the book, the quill, and ink respectively before he sank down in bed… In the morning… He lay there for a long while, hours perhaps, before he finally felt sleep take him.
