A/N: Thanks so much for the review. Hope you enjoy this chapter.

It’s so early in the morning. I can’t believe I am waking up this early. Maybe it’s because I am not having nightmares or visions anymore. It’s a relief. I think Hermione would be proud that I’m waking up early. She always said I slept too much.

I do, even though Severus seems to insist that they did indeed vanish, believe that I will see her again, and Ron and Dumbledore. I like to think that we are completing some kind of test. For what? I don’t know but I’m sure Dumbledore will explain it when we get back.

I look over at him and he’s reading the book, *The Laws and Rules of Nature.* He’s always reading but this time he looks really busy, but I’m bored so…

“So.” I say.

“Yes?” He says sensing that I have a question.

“Are we, um you know. Doing something today?” I ask him. I hope he says yes.

Putting the book down he gives me a dumb look then he answers, “Oh why of course. First we are going to have a lovely breakfast in a small café and then we are going to go strolling alongside the beach and after a nice lunch in Germany we are going to apparate to Canada and go skiing.”

“That’s not what I meant.” I swear he’s impossible.

“We are going to go investigating.”

“Investigating?” What on earth! I don’t want to do that.

“Yes. We have enough food stored to last us for seven years and I believe that the snow that we received a few days ago was nothing more than a fluke.”

“And?”

“And we need to cover as much ground as possible before winter settles in silly child.”

*Snort* I can’t believe he called me a child.

He’s still outside, He’s so stubborn. Looking out the window I can see him sitting on a piece of wood. I don’t know what’s wrong with him. He checked the house already and determined there was nothing wrong with it so why won’t he come in? *Sigh.* I don’t know if we would have ever found this place if we hadn’t taken a break.

We had been walking for four hours before he called for a break. I was extremely grateful. I mean shouldn’t someone his age tire quickly. I know he isn’t old but certainly he should get tired before me. I played Quidditch after all.

The whole trip- up to that point- had been very silent. He had only spoken two words to me, “Keep Up”. He hadn’t even told me we were going to take a break and instead just sat on a log next to a pond.

At least we had stopped near water. I was greatful he had, I would have hated to waste the water we had brought with us.

As he sat on the log he sighed, I think he was depressed. His emotions aren’t nearly as hard to decipher as they used to be and as he sat on the log he had a very depressed look on his face. I think he had hoped to have found *something* at that point. Poor Severus I wish I could have comforted in some way but I knew that if I had tried he would just push me away.

“It is not ideal to drink still water.” Severus told me as I stuck my hands in the water for a drink. I only shrugged in response. It wasn’t like I was going to bathe in it, just have a small drink.

I snorted into my palm of water as I remembered the other day. I had passed gas and not that I hadn’t done it in front of him before but this time, wow it was loud and not very nice smelling either. I was so embarrassed and thought I was going to get this big lecture on etiquette but instead Severus only quirked an eyebrow and said, “You did a Filius.”

I guess it turns out, well according to Severus, that Professor Flitwick has a gas problem and always passes it during staff meetings. I don’t know if it’s true or not but it sure gave me something to think about. That short little man farting. I would have never thought.

Well, anyway that was what I was thinking about when I stuck my hands back into the water so it came as a big surprise when I was forced out of my thoughts by seeing a bright pink and very tiny girl.

She had just appeared, out of no where, looked at me with bright eyes and then happily said, “Hi, I’m Abigail. I’m a pixie. Follow me.”

Well that’s odd I thought. I looked at Severus who just shrugged and followed the tiny girl.

She skipped the whole way and after not to long she said, “This is my village; you are welcome to stay here.”

“Ummm Where?” I asked her.

“Here silly boy.” She giggled and pulled back a bush.

“Oh my god.” my mouth dropped. It was the most magnificent sight I had ever seen. It was not just a village but it was a city. The buildings were painted in glitter and trimmed in gold and the architecture was better than that of the Romans’. There was only one problem….

“How the hell are we supposed to fit in there?” Severus frowned as he looked at the tiny city.

“That’s your problem to figure out” She giggled and flew away leaving us standing staring at a very tiny city.

“Well that was pointless.” I said out loud after a while.

“Yeah pretty much.” Severus sighed.

“So now what?” I asked.

We decided to keep walking in the direction the sprite had led us. We knew that all we would have to do to get back to Albus was to find the pond and then go west.

“Lets just keep going.” He had said.

“What about the pixy village.” I wasn’t that interested as I knew there was no way for us to fit inside without our magic but I also wasn’t interested in going on.

“And what ….Potter. Do you know what this means.” Severus said.

“uh. What what means?” I asked him very confused.

“Pixies Potter. They’re magical creatures. Magic, there is still magic around, but then why can’t we…”

“Stop calling me Potter.” I said ignoring the fact he was trying to put across.

“Fine, I’ll call you Malfoy.”

“Hey!” Malfoy! How could he?!

“It doesn’t matter, Potter. Your name is beside the point…”

“My name is Harry and I’d appreciate it if you would call me by it.”

“And I really don’t care what you would or would not like.” He spat at me and then as if on some sort of cue white flakes of snow started to fall.

“Oh look it’s fluking- I mean snowing again.” I sneered.

“I can see that Potter.”

Potter?! He just called me Potter again? How dare he!

“Damn it.” I growled and walked away from him.

I was so angry. Why couldn’t he just call me Harry? What was so hard about calling me Harry? And why couldn’t I call him Severus. It’s not like I want to nickname him Sevvie or anything.

It had been almost an hour, after I had stormed off, when I saw, “A House!”

“Ah, so is I’m traveling with Mr. State the Obvious.” Severus said. He had been right behind me the whole time.

“Come on, let’s check it out.” I said making a point to ignore Severus’ comment.

“No. I don’t trust it.”

“You don’t trust it? It’s a house! You know…Shelter!” I know I should have been worried but I was just so excited to see something artificial; something not grown in the wild, something not in ruins and something not tiny enough to squash with my foot.

“You don’t know why its there.” Severus said sternly.

“What?! Are you kidding? It’s there for shelter! And if you haven’t noticed we need some, the snow is not letting up.” And it wasn’t. If anything it had started snowing harder.

“We’ll go, but we must be very cautious.”

I can’t believe he actually gave in but I’m guessing seeing the shelter was a relief to him as well.

“You check that room, I’ll check this one.” He said when after we walked in.

It was a cute little house. And it clearly had been lived, though there was no sign anyone had been here in over a month.

After looking around the small room Severus had told me to go in I realized that it was a closet, a very large closet. There were cauldrons and racing brooms and even a book on Charms. Whoever lived here last had obviously been Wizarding folk.

By the time I walked out of closet Severus had finished inspecting the rest of the house.

“It’s safe.” He said.

“Okay, so we’ll stay here until the snow lets up and then we can go collect the food and come back.”

“Potter, we can’t stay here.” He told me.

“Why not?”

“Because…”

”Because what?” I asked.

“Because we can’t.”

“That’s not a reason Se…Professor.”

He didn’t answer me and instead just walked outside.
………………………………………………………………………………………………………............................................................................................................
And that’s where he has been ever since. It’s already cold and dark outside and it’s still snowing. He’s attempting to cover himself with a couple of tree branch that he tied together.

I sigh and take a sip of tea. While he was outside pouting I did some more investigating of the house. I found a nice kitchen that was supplied with lots of tea, a living room and of course the giant closet. I also went upstairs where there were two bedrooms and one bathroom. After I toured the house I set up a trash can in the kitchen and made a fire where I heated up some tea; I had expected that Severus would have come in by the time the tea was ready but he didn’t.

I went back into the closet to look at the cauldrons I had found. I had been wondering what I could do for him for Christmas and now I’ve found it. A cauldron. I know he can’t use it but maybe seeing it will remind him of potions and being a potions master; I know that potions is the only thing that has ever really made him happy.

I look outside again. He’s obviously cold and he looks ridiculous just sitting out there. I always thought Gryffindors were the stubborn ones. I get up from the window seat and I walk outside with a fresh cup of tea.

“Come. Come inside.” I tell him handing the cup of tea over.

He takes it and says “No I will not go inside. I will make my own shelter when we get back to camp and that is that.” I can’t believe he said that. Why doesn’t he want to come in?

“You’re being unreasonable Professor.”

“I will not go in.” He says. He hasn’t taken a drink of his tea yet and is just holding the cup tightly.

“Please?” I ask him again sweetly; hoping that he will listen.

“I should have known better. I can’t believe I didn’t see this coming.” He sighs.

“What are you talking about?”

“The snow. We shouldn’t have left camp. I was stupid to think…” Oh so that’s what’s bothering him but what’s the problem. If we hadn’t left we wouldn’t have found this house.

“Professor. Please come inside.” I ask again.

“What if…”

“Please?” I beg. This time he listens.

A/N: Review…Please.
