«Detention, simply perfect», Draco thought after Snape had told Potter what he was getting from setting the classroom on fire. They were making an extremely complex potion to weak someone from a coma, and he was supposed to add 15 frog eyes and stir 30 times to the right and 35 to the left, what would’ve been a lot easier if Draco hadn’t been whispering random number’s in his ear.

Snape put out the fire immediately, but he told Potter he would have to clean the whole room without magic that same night unless he wanted an entire week of detention. As soon as dinner was over, Draco followed him to the Potions classroom to have some fun at Scarhead’s expense.

‘I suppose you’re in here’, Potter said to the “empty” room after Snape locked the door and left.

‘I’d be an idiot if I weren’t…’

‘You know, I don’t get you’, he said as he picked up the mope to begin cleaning the stone floor.

‘What exactly don’t you get?’

‘You killed yourself, right? Doesn’t that mean you wanted to die?’

‘Isn’t that obvious?’, Draco mocked him.

‘But if you did want to die, why did you stay as a ghost?’

‘To torment you. You missed a spot’, he said pointing at the dirty floor and doing his best to suppress a laugh.

Potter looked at him, or the area from where Draco’s voice was coming, rather curiously.

‘Why did you really do it, Malfoy? Why did you kill yourself?’

‘Because you told me to drop dead.’

‘That’s not true, and you know it.’

‘It is true! If you hadn’t said it, I wouldn’t have thought about it.’

‘So, you took it as a suggestion?’

‘Pretty much.’

‘You’re insane, Malfoy!’, Potter said, going back to his mopping.

‘That, I owe to you. All those years of losing against you finally made me flip. And you know which loss was the one that did it? Do you?’, Draco asked evilly.

‘The snitch? It was a stupid race, Malfoy!’

‘First of all, it wasn’t a stupid race, and you know it. And second, it was all you said afterwards. Using words to hurt people is my game, Potter. You won at MY SODDING GAME! And the worst of all is that everything you said was true. I had no friends and I was not special.’

‘So… it really was my fault…’, Potter said quietly. ‘I’m an idiot… I’m sorry, Malfoy. I truly am.’

‘Well, if it makes you feel better, you didn’t make me want to die. I killed myself to win over you and make you regret what you said for the rest of your life.’

Potter’s jaw dropped in horror. ‘That is the dirtiest trick you’ve ever pulled… How could you possibly chose my suffering over your own life?’

‘Perhaps you should keep mopping. You wouldn’t want to get a week of detention’, Draco pointed out.

‘You are unbelievable, Malfoy.’

Draco placed himself behind Potter and whispered ‘Being dead is the best thing that could’ve happened to me, and I only have you to thank for that.’

‘Get away from me, Malfoy’, Potter hissed angrily.

‘Why? Does it make you… uncomfortable?’, he whispered, sliding a single finger down his throat.

‘No’, he replied far too quickly for it to be credible.

‘Potty, Potty… if you keep lying, your nose will grow.’

‘Leave me alone…’, Potter nearly cried.

Draco blew around his neck and behind his ear, making him pant. ‘You’re liking this, aren’t you?’

‘LEAVE ME ALONE!’

‘Alright, Potter. Have it your way’, he said and flew out of the Potions classroom.
