Past and Futures Come Together

(1 year later Alyrisa’s 5th year)

Alyrisa raced through the halls of the Hogwarts. She didn’t want to be late for yet another glass.
~I am so dead.~ she thought as she got to her charms class. She took her seat and did her lessons. After her classes she headed to the Great Hall for dinner. She sat at Slytherin table as usual keeping to herself.

She over heard the charms teacher speaking to her father Severus Snape.
“She does excellent work, but she needs to be on time.” Professor Flintwick said softly. Severus nodded his head.
“Yes I know. I’ve tried to get her to be on time. I don’t know why she always runs late.” Severus said with a sigh. He was glad that Lupin wasn’t there to poke his nose into the discussion. Severus shook his head and looked over at the table that his house sat at. Alyrisa sat as far away from everyone as possible, and once she was done eating she always left to study. Severus saw her get up and leave the Great Hall. He excused himself and followed after her.

Alyrisa was almost to her dorm room when she felt someone’s hand on her shoulder. She tensed up and then turned to face who had a hold of her.
“Father? Is there something you need?” she asked. Severus looked at her and for the first time realized how grown up his daughter looked.
“You were late to Charms today.” He said.
“I’ve been getting better at getting to class on time.” She replied as Severus removed his hand from her shoulder.
“Yes I know. Aly is there anything you’d like to talk about?”
The 15-year-old girl blinked and looked at her father.
“Hun? I don’t understand.” She said with a slight frown. Severus sighed to himself.
“I think it’s time we had a talk.”
“Oh if you mean along the lines of sex and all that no need. I do a lot of reading dad, so I all ready know all the fundamentals.”
“Alyrisa there is more to sex than just plain rutting.”
“I know that. Dad I over hear the other girls and some of the boys talking. I’m not ready for anything like that. And if I was I would have either come to you or more than likely Madam Pomfey about a birth control potion.”

Severus paled at hearing what his daughter had to say. He didn’t want to think of his daughter doing anything with any male anywhere, but he had to smile when he heard her speaking about birth control.
“Aly you know I worry about you. You are all that I have left in this world.” He said. “No matter what I want you to always be able to talk to me.”
Alyrisa studied her father and smiled.
“Dad trust me if there was anything to talk about I would. You’ve seen how most of the kids are towards me. I mean I’m not that well liked among the Slytherins and well the other students are wary of me because of well you.”
“I know that, and I am sorry. However you should try to be friends with the others.”
“I’ll try dad. I promise. I need to get a book back to the library.”
“Okay. Remember if you ever need to talk…”
She nodded and went into her dorm room.

Alyrisa found the book she was looking for, and headed to the library. Remus Lupin was at the desk not looking the best.
“Professor Lupin?” she asked. Remus looked up at her. She saw the goblet that held the Wolfsbane potion in it. “I see dad left that for you.”
“Yes the full moon is tomorrow.” Remus said. “You’re late returning that book.”
“Yes I know. I’m sorry. I kind of forgot about it.”
“It’s okay.”
She held the book out to Remus, who reached to take it. As he took the book from her hand, his fingertips brushed against her hand.

Alyrisa gave a slight gasp as she looked at Remus. Her near black eyes going wide with a slight hint of fear to them. Remus looked at her, and his amber eyes had gone wide as well, but more in surprise than anything.
“I have to go.” Alyrisa said. She turned on her heel and fled the library.
