Chapter 5

Remus stepped out of the shower and walked across the sitting room searching for his towel. “Sirius, where did you put my towel? I’m dripping on the rug.”

Sirius came to the bedroom door and leered at his husband. “I hid it. I want you to spend the rest of the day with nothing on,” Sirius said as he stalked toward him.

The sound of the fireplace roaring to life behind him made Remus jump and cover himself with his hands. “I didn’t need to see the two of you naked. I just needed to speak with you about Harry,” Severus stated, covering his eyes.

Sirius ran into the bedroom and grabbed them each a set of robes. He came back out and they quickly dressed. “What about Harry, Snape?” Sirius asked, dropping down in front of the fire.

Severus started explaining to them what had happened since the afternoon before, and Albus’ demands for the young man to return to Privet Drive.

“Why didn’t he contact us?” Sirius asked.

“He didn’t want to disturb your honeymoon. He felt that if he had wards put up wherever he was staying, you would be able to enjoy your trip and not worry about him,” Severus ran a hand through his hair. wan wanted me to ward a muggle hotel room, so I brought him to Snape manor and put him in one of the guest rooms.”

“Thank you, Severus,” Remus said. “We will pack up and head back immediately.”

Severus sighed, “Albus will not allow him to stay with you. He will insist that he return to those muggles,” he told them. “There is one other small detail that I left out, and I will explain it to you when you get here. Just floo to the manor and we will figure out how to keep Albus from trying to destroy the boy’s life.”

Remus and Sirius arrived at Severus’ home and were met by Severus. The three sat down and began discussing Albus’ insistence that Harry return to the Dursley’s. With a small pop, a house elf aped ied in front of Severus. “Master Severus, Mr. Harry, Mr. Draco and Miss. Serena are coming down.”

“Thank you Mopsey, could you bring tea for five and a warm bottle for Miss. Serena?” he asked.

“Yes sir, Does Master Severus wants Mopsey to take Miss. Serena so that you can talk?” she asked.

Severus smiled at the small elf, “I’m not sure that either Harry or Draco will allow you to take her. Just the tea will be fine for now. If we need you to care for Serena, we will call you.”

With another pop, she was gone. Severus turned toward his two guests, “Why don’t I just introduce you to the small detail? Or better yet, allow Harry to do so.”

The door to the sitting room came open and Harry and Draco stepped in, both making faces and talking softly to a small blanket covered something. Remus sniffed, detecting the scent of Severus who smelled like sandalwood and lavender, Sirius who smelled like sea air and lemons, Harry who smelled like fresh cut grass and fresh cream, and Draco who surprisingly smelled like chocolate and cherries. But along with those smells was the smell of talc and slightly sour milk that almost covered the smell of cinnamon and roses. “Harry, we just saw you a week ago, and you never told us that you were a father,” Remus stated.

Sirius jumped up from his chair and rushed toward the young man. “A baby?” He looked at the small child and smiled. “She’s beautiful,” he said as he reached over and took her from Harry’s arms.

Harry and Draco watched as he cuddled the small girl in his arms. He sat down next to Remus and began fussing over Serena.

“Where did she come from, Harry,” Remus asked. He watched as Sirius made faces at the girl.

“She’s Dudley’s daughter. Uncle Vernon and Aunt Petunia were going to take her to the orphanage. They gave me the choice to stay with them or take her and go,” he explained. “I went to Gringotts and then to the Leaky Cauldron. I used the floo to contact Professor Snape, and asked him for his help. I wanted him to set some wards on a muggle hotel room for me and Serena.”

Sirius looked up from the baby. “Why didn’t you contact Dumbledore or Molly Weasley?” he asked.

Harry slumped down into the sofa. “I didn’t want Dumbledore to take Serena from me before I got to adopt her, and I didn’t want to burden Mrs. Weasley. Mr. Weasley died because I ducked the killing curse.”

Severus leaned forward on his chair, “Albus contacted me this morning Harry. He has asked that you owl him, and Molly. It seems that he contacted her when he found that you were missing from your relatives. She has been frantic with worry.”

“Oh no,” he groaned. He put his head in his hands. “I didn’t want to worry anyone.”

Remus patted him on the shoulder. “I’m sure that if you explain it to her, she will understand. But when she finds out that you didn’t come to her, she is going to be hurt.” He sat down next to the dark haired youth. “She thinks of you as one of her children, and expects you to come to her if you need help.”

“It’s my fault that Mr. Weasley died,” he whispered. “I couldn’t face her knowing that.”

The fire flared to life and in the fireplace was Molly Weasley’s head.
