Chapter five: The Order
Chapter five: The Order
Amelia was on her way to her grandfather's office after he had someone call for her. She thought that he was going to ask her, again, how she was doing in class. She had told him before plenty of times that she was doing fine.
Hermione had become less rude to Amelia over the past couple of days, and Amelia was finding that to be much better. Ron and Harry had never been a problem with her, actually she had enjoyed having them as students. They always made her laugh. She had known about the passing of Harry's god father and tried not to trigger anything that would make him upset. Her grandfather's orders.
Amelia walked up the spiral staircase and knocked on her grandfather's office door. There was no answer. Amelia found this to be a bit odd. She turned the door handle and found that it was opened. She looked around the room and saw all of her grandfather's items perfectly placed as usual. She walked into the room and stood by his desk.
"Granddad?" Amelia called.
"Oh Amelia dear I shall be out in a second. Take a seat."
"Ok." Amelia sat down on a chair. She looked at Dumbledore's phoenix. She really admired that bird. She loved its vibrant colours. Dumbledore walked in to his office.
"Sorry dear, nature called." Dumbledore sat down in his chair.
"I did not need to know that, granddad," Amelia chuckled.
"I will remember that for later." Dumbledore chuckled too.
"So what is it you called me for?"
"I wanted to see how you are doing with Severus." Dumbledore answered.
"Oh." Amelia thought he was going to ask the other question again. "I suppose we are doing fine. Iquitquite fond of him. I don't think he really likes me."
"How fond of him are you my dear?" Dumbledore leaned forward in his chair.
"Um." Amelia took in a deep breath. "I guess you might say extremely fond."
"Hmm." Dumbledore stroked his bearded. "I thought so."
"Is that a problem?" Amelia felt worried.
"Absolutely not!" Dumbledore jumped. "It might be the greatest thing that will happen." Amelia raided her eyebrows.
"Excuse me?"
"There is no problem my dear." Dumbledore assured.
"Good." Amelia began to relax. There was a silence while Amelia watched her grandfather think. "Sorry to interrupt your thoughts granddad, but is that all you brought me here for?"
"Oh no, sorry dear. My thoughts got the best of me." Dumbledore shook his head. Amelia laughed. She knew what he was thinking but didn't say. "Miss Granger had had a chat to me a couple of days ago about you."
"And what did she say?"
"She had made me realize that I need you to come to the Order."
"The Order?" Amelia questioned.
"It is a secret society. We would like you to join us and help us with the defeat of your father."
"Right." Amelia thought.
"You would be great help to us dear." Dumbledore urged.
"Yes. I'll join. Anything to get rid of my father." Amelia held a malicious grin on her face.
"But I must warn you dear that you may be used as undercover work," Dumbledore forewarned.
"Like I said, anything to get rid of my father."
"Very well dear." Dumbledore stood up. "Come with me." Dumbledore pulled Amelia up.
"Where are we going?" Amelia questioned.
"To the meeting. I have called everyone from the Order to meet us in 5 minutes," Dumbledore responded.
"Oh so you've planned this?" Amelia smiled.
"But of course. I am always prepared." Dumbledore picked up a small clock and held it out.
"What is this?"
"A portkey."
"Oh ok." Amelia took hold of the portkey along with Dumbledore. Amelia felt as though she was beginning to spin around. Then suddenly they stopped. Amelia looked around and saw that she was in an old, dusty house.
"This is where we hold our meetings." Dumbledore whispered.
"Ok."
"Come." Dumbledore pulled Amelia in to a semi-large room. She looked around and saw Severus. Immediately her heart began to pound. It always began to pound when ever she saw him lately. Amelia looked around and saw quite a few other people sitting around a large table, she saw one girl that was young too, she watched as the girls hair changed colour in awe. "Everyone this is my granddaughter, Amelia Riddle." Dumbledore pushed Amelia forward. No one made any noises. "As I told you in the last meeting she is Thomas Riddle's daughter." Amelia just looked around in silence. "Do sit." Amelia looked around and there was only one space open and it was next to Severus and the girl whose hair changed. Amelia walked over to the chair and sat down.
"Hello." The girl whispered. "I'm Nymphadora Tonks. But you can call me Tonks." Tonks put out her hand.
"Nice to meet you." Amelia shook her hand.
"You too. Its good to have a younger girl on the team."
"Ok." Amelia turned to Snape. "So you are in this to?" Amelia mused.
"Yes."
"Well its good that I'm with someone I know." Amelia smiled.
"I guess so." Snape didn't want to make a long conversation. He looked at her as much as he could with out her noticing. She was so beautiful to him. He couldn't actually believe that she had been the one who tried to be friends with him. He felt different around her. He couldn't understand how he was feeling. He had never actually felt this way about anyone before, it was new to him, or it was a feeling that he had never felt for a long time and forgotten about it.
*****
The meeting was over and everyone was having a coffee and some biscuits. Amelia had just found out that Severus was in fact a Death Eater. She always thought he was when she was younger but didn't really know if he was. She thought that she might have a little chat with him later
Amelia had talked quite a bit with Tonks and found her to be highly interesting. Tonks had told her that she was a Metamorphagus.
"Tonks?"
"Yes." Tonks looked at Amelia, half a biscuit sticking out of her mouth.
"Can you tell me who everyone is?" Amelia asked.
"Oh sure." Tonks finished the biscuit. "That is Arthur Weasley." Tonks pointed to a man in a tattered hat and a big knitted jumper.
"Ronald's father, yes?"
"Yes, Ron's father." Tonks laughed. "His wife is Molly, she spends most of her time in the kitchen."
"Right."
"Over there," Tonks pointed to a tall slim boy with wavy red hair, "that's their oldest son, Bill."
"Not to bad looking," Amelia laughed. Tonks laughed with her. Severus over hear and began to feel jealous. Tonks went on telling her who everyone was. Once she had gotten around everyone it was time when everyone began to leave. "I'll see you later, Tonks."
"Sure. It was really good talking to you." Tonks' hair turned a dark black.
"Yes. Can't wait to talk again." Amelia watched as Severus was about to leave. "Oh I better go." Amelia ran over to Severus. "Severus?"
"Yes?" Severus looked at her.
"Um maybe we can have a little chat?" Amelia asked.
"Very well." Snape put out his hand, holding his port key. Amelia held his hand. They began to spin around.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Meanwhile~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Dumbledore is looking around for Amelia.
"Nymphadora?" Dumbledore called.
"Yes, Albus."
"Do you know where Amelia has gone off to?"
"She just left with Severus." Tonks replied.
"Oh, good." Dumbledore grinned. He knew that his granddaughter and Severus were going to be perfect together, but decided to let them find out on their own. "Well thank you." Dumbledore took out his portkey and disappeared.
Amelia arrived in Severus' office. Severus placed the portkey on his desk and pulled something out of his pocket andked ked over to Amelia.
"Your grandfather gave me this to give to you." Severus gave her the item. "It's a portkey. I was supposed to give it to when you were talking to Nymphadora, but you two seemed so busy."
"Oh, it's ok. At least I have it now." Amelia slipped the portkey in to her pocket. She walked over to a chair and sat down. "So you are actually a Death Eater."
"Yes I am." Severus sat down in his chair.
"I though you were when I was younger. I didn't actually know if it was true or not though."
"Well you know now don't you." Severus sounded cold.
"What made you do it?" Amelia asked.
"I don't want to talk about it." Severus snapped.
"Ok." Amelia sat quietly for a moment. "May I see it?"
"See what?"
"The mark." Amelia stood up and walked over to his side.
"No you may not." Snape spat.
"Come on Severus please. I want to see what my father gives you people," Amelia pleaded softly. Severus couldn't refuse her.
"Alright." Severus pulled up his sleeve. Amelia stared at the black burnt looking mark of a skull and a snake.
"Did it hurt?" Amelia ran a finger over the mark. Severus pulled his arm away.
"No."
"Ok." Amelia walked over to the chair she was previously sitting on. "Are you spying for my father?"
"Never!" Severus' voice boomed. Amelia jumped back.
"Severus I was only asking. Not that I would judge you. I mean of course I'd turn you in. I just wanted to know."
"Your father is a cruel and disgusting man." Severus said softly. 'Very unlike you.' Snape sighed. "I don't know what I was thinking."
"Well can you tell me why you did it?"
"Because I though that I would be looked up to, not picked on. I thought that I would have power. I wanted to be something." Severus explained. Amelia could hear the gritting of his teeth.
"Turning to evil will never help."
"I do realize that now, thank you." Severus retorted.
"Come on Severus. I'm only trying to be nice." Amelia did understand how he felt about the situation. She just wanted to get to know him a little better. There was a long pause. Amelia looked at Severus from head to toe. Looking at his messy above shoulder length black hair.
Amelia was so attracted to him. She loved all of him. She didn't want a man that was the same as every other man. She wanted Severus, someone different, someone if they loved you would care for you forever. She knew that he could do that. That's what made her want him. "I'll leave if you want."
"No it's ok. I was just thinking." Severus looked at her.
"Ok then." Amelia began to talk about other things.
