Put Your Arms Around Me - Texas
"You about ready to to go?" asked Faith grabbing her backpack.
"Just hold on a minute Faith," said Sirius, holding his hand up, "you make a call, grab a bag and ask me if I'm ready. I have no idea of where were going or who we're going to see."
Faith shrugged, "does it matter?"
Sirius thought for a minute, "no, not really I just wanted to know. Its not like I've got any other option."
Faith smiled at him and playfully pushed him out of the door, "We're going to England, big guy. That's where you're trying to get isn't it?"
He nodded.
"Well, I know some people there who can help you," she said.
"People like you? You mean, slayers and such like?" he asked, interested in finding out more about the slayer myth, as it had always been one of his favourite stories.
Faith raised an eyebrow, "you could say that I guess," she said, thinking of Willow and her dance with evil a couple of years ago. "This may take a while though as were going to have to go the long way."
Sirius looked confused as Faith walked towards the motel office to pay,
"The long way?" he asked,
"Buses and planes," she said over her shoulder.
He stopped and watched her walk the rest of the way admiring the way her mane of hair swayed in time with her hips. A small jolt ran through him. She was coming with him. He tried to contain his enthusiasm at spending more time with her. After all, she had made it quite clear that all she was offering was a helping hand, some companionship, and maybe a little fun.
"˜So where's the problem?' he thought to himself, "˜she's a girl after your own heart. You heard her!' But he wasn't sure of what his own heart wanted where the brunette slayer was concerned.
"Lets motor," she walked up next to him and pointed to the bus stop across the road.
"Ladies first," he said, not having any idea of where they were going.
The bus ride to the airport passed quickly and quietly, with Sirius looking out of the window at the strange city, which according to Faith had one of the mouths of Hell underneath it.
When they arrived at the airport Faith let out an impressive string of expletives that Sirius was sure could make a sailor blush.
"What's wrong?" asked Sirius looking around for the source of her anger.
"No fucking flights today or tomorrow," she said lighting a cigarette despite the no smoking signs everywhere. "Crew strikes. Asshole unions," she muttered under her breath.
She stormed out of the terminal and Sirius followed, running into the back of her as she stopped suddenly.
"No matter," she said with a mischievous smile. "I know another way."
She walked across the road to the long stay car park and stopped in front of an older slightly tattered Toyota Corolla.
"Act natural," she said as she slid her bag of her shoulder, pulling out what looked to Sirius like a small silver wand but with the flick of her wrist it had extended to a foot long and as she pushed it dowe sie side of the car window and with a quick jerk the lock clicked open.
Sirius realised what she was doing. "Are you stealing someone's car?" he whispered urgently. The last thing he needed was to be arrested by the muggle authorities, although, even as the thought was running through his head, he felt a little thrill of excitement run through him.
"If you have a better idea Sirius, I'm happy to hear it," she said, now sitting in the drivers seat and pulling out wires from under the steering wheel, "but we need to go. Now."
He heard the engine roar to life as Faith shut the door and wound down the window, "C'mon Sirius where's you sense of adventure?" her eyes lit up as she smiled at him.
He walked around the car and got in, "You have no idea Faith," he said with a smirk as she pulled away. He watched silently as she flirted with the guard and gave him a line about her lost ticket, which the dolt accepted readily. Within minutes they were out of the city and on the highway.
"Man that was fun!" Faith said excitedly. She flicked on the radio and lit them both a cigarette. As she handed one to Sirius, she gave him a wink, and he watched her dancing in her seat as she sang along to the radio. He wondered if this is what they meant by the girl of your dreams.

"We're going to have to stop over somewhere tonight," said Faith, wearily as the sun started to dip low in the sky.
They had been driving for hours without stopping and Faith was feeling hungry, thirsty and sweaty, not to mention the fact that she desperately needed the bathroom.
Her plan was to get them to an airport where they could catch a plane directly to London and where the union strike wasn't affecting flights.
They had talked all day. Faith telling slayer stories and describing all the different demons she fought in the past and Sirius telling her all about the wizarding world. He discovered that Faith had a sweet tooth and laughed at the way her eyes lit up when he described Honeydukes.
They pulled up at a motel on the outskirts of a little town and Faith pulled the car around the back and away from the road. She went into the office and came out with a room key.
They walked to the room and once inside Faith turned and locked it automatically, "Force of habit," she said at his questioning look before rushing to the bathroom.
Sirius flopped down on the bed and stretched out, trying to shift the knot that had lodged itself in his lower back. Faith came back into the room and threw herself down next to him.
"Jeez, you'd think that Slayer powers would include being able to sit in the same position for hours without throwing out your back," she said wincing and stretching as Sirius had done. As she did, her vest rode up and her shorts slipped down slightly causing her to show off her tanned, toned midriff.
Sirius was entranced by the show kin kin and for a moment had to physically restrain himself from swooping down and licking the expanse of flesh. Faith noticed him looking and turned towards him,
"So what do you want to do tonight? I was thinking that we grab a bite to eat then see if there are any clubs in this crappy little town. I've been sitting on my ass over that Hellmouth for too damn long and I need some action. What do you say?"
Sirius raised his eyebrows at her and she smiled saucily at him, "Unless you've got any other ideas?" she asked.
He did. At that moment in time he wanted nothing more than to roll her onto her back and fuck her senseless, feel her writhe underneath him, and fourteen years ago he would have done just that. Hell, fourteen weeks ago he would have. He imagined what it would have been like to have her staying at Grimmauld Place with him; he definitely wouldn't have left if that were the case.
But, the tiny sensible voice in his head reminded him that she was helping him and that he would have to spend the next few days with her. He did not want there to be a weird atmosphere between them because he couldn't keep his dick in his trousers. He also found, to his astonishment, that he respected her, something that he would hold his hands up and admit that he didn't normally feel for the opposite sex. With a jolt he realised that she was staring at him waiting for an answer.
"Food and clubbingnds nds great, throw in alcohol as well and I'm sold," he said resignedly, pulling himself up off the bed.
"Sirius," said Faith seriously, reaching out her arm as though she was going to touch his arm and then seeming to reconsider.
"Yes?" he said and caught her eye. They just looked at each other as the seconds ticked away until Faith reached out and grabbed her cigarettes
"Don't use all the hot water," she said as she laid back down and stared at the ceiling.
With a nod Sirius retreated to the bathroom, showered and transfigured his t-shirt into a black button down shirt that he wore open at the neck and his battered old jeans into a smart unfaded black pair.
Faith came out of the bathroom about thirty minutes later looking like the siSiriSirius already thought she was. Black leather low rider jeans, a red halter neck top, her hair loose over her shoulders, dark eye make up and blood red lipstick.
She had mentally berated herself while she was in the shower for her lapse in character. Faith the vampire slayer was a badass. She chewed men up and spat them out, and she definitely didn't go all mushy over them like Buffy. She couldn't put her finger on what it was that was causing these strange feelings and she wasn't sure that she liked whatever it was, but she knew deep down that Sirius was different than all the others. She sensed that he was like her, she just wasn't sure of which part he was like.
She had convinced herself that it was lack of food that was making her stomach feel queasy, but as she stepped out of the bathroom to see Sirius standing there dressed all in black, his hair still damp from the shower, his masculine scent assaulting her senses and saw the raw hunger in his eyes as they raked over her body, the real Faith, the tired lonely Faith who was too emotionally scarred to let anybody in, longed to go to him, throw her arms around him and never let go.
Instead she just said, "Lets go"
Sirius who was still staring at her like a man in the desert looks at a tall glass of water could only nod and follow.
They walked into a nearby diner and ordered their food. While they were waiting Sirius asked the question that had been at the back of his mind since the previous night, "Why are you doing this Faith?"
"Doing what?" she asked with a frown.
"Helping me, taking me to England, getting your friends involved, surely that goes above and beyond your call of duty?"
"Well yeah it does I guess," she said with a sigh.
"Don't get me wrong I do want to help you Sirius, you seem like a decent guy and you need a break but I'll level with you, I'm doing it for me too. I've been on that particular hellmouth for over a year now. With two newly instated slayers there as well there's nothing for me to do. I need to be on the move y'no? I want to go other places, see new things." She stopped in mid-flow, realising that she was letting her guard down and saw Sirius looking at her, "And y'know, I always wanted to visit England to see if all British guys are as hot as the ones I've met before," she looked up at him, smiling just enough for her dimples to show, "but of course you came along and answered that one."
"And?" he asked with a smirk, and she once again saw the younger man shining through the tired face.
"And they are," sai said honestly, the smile gone. She looked like she was about to say more but their food arrived and they both tucked in suddenly famished.
