Bugger Off Ferret!
My Mate
Chapter 5: Bugger off, Ferret!
Draco stared in shock as the Potion Master’s words bounced through his brain.
Weasley…Weasley…Weasley. No. It cannot, absolutely cannot be a Weasley. The mass of
fire colored curls tickling his chin, told a different story however. His senses started receiving
input as he began to feel the lush curves underneath his hands and a light apple scent filled
his nostrils. How on earth could apples smell so erotic?
He didn’t think there were any Weasleys left in Hogwarts, though he was sure they’d
be getting a new batch soon enough. The little bundle in his arms had gone slack at the sound
of the professor’s voice, but now resumed her previous wriggling, which was doing interesting things to his body.
“Let me go!” His body didn’t want to respond, but Draco managed to pry his arms
away from the girl he held. She dropped the few inches to the floor and stumbled away. He watched
as she pushed her hair out of her eyes and turned to face him.
Ginny nearly swallowed her tongue when she saw who it was that had grabbed her.
Draco Malfoy was the last person she had expected to see and definitely the last person she wanted to see.
Merlin, he was tall! He towered over her, no wonder she’d been hanging in the air.
He had also filled out more in the five years since she had last seen him. While he could never
have been termed a stick, he had been very lean and he had definitely acquired new muscles.
He would never be bulky, but more lithe and graceful.
His white blonde hair was tousled instead of his usual slicked back look and she
couldn’t deny that it was extremely sexy. The silver eyes were darkened with what looked like
anger, but she couldn’t fathom why.
Gathering her dignity about her like a cloak, Ginny straightened up to her full five feet, four inches.
“Malfoy.” She managed a cool but civil tone, but she noticed his lips tighten just a bit.
“I don’t suppose you have a good excuse for manhandling me.e die didn’t respond, but his eyes
strayed toward the door where the other two men were standing.
A prickle ran over her skin like tiny claws and she looked back and forth between
the men. “What’s going on?” Her gaze settled on Draco and she said, “What are you doing here?”
“Perhaps, Professor Weasley, we should discuss this in my office.” Dumbledore said in a wizened voice.
Ginny shook her head. “No. Tell me now. Right here. What is going on?” At first she thought
Albus would protest, but after a moment he nodded.
“Would you like to take a seat?”
“I’ll stand.”
“I’m sure you know a little bit about veelas.”
Ginny frowned. “Yes. Bill married one.”
“He married Fleur Delacour?” Draco interrupted.
“No, he married her sister Michelle. It would never have worked out between him
and Fleur. Michelle is much…sweeter. They’re expecting their first child in about five
months.” Ginny narrowed her eyes at Draco, then turned to Albus. “Why?”
“How much do you know about veela mating Professor Weasley?” This question came from Snape.
“There’s dominant and passive blood. Males are always dominant, Females are
98% passive. Michelle was passive. She knew her mate was Bill, but as a passive,
didn’t feel the mating urge until Bill initiated the ritual. Passives are able to live without
their mate for a long period of time as long as they are not in close proximation to each
other. Dominants on the other hand, feel the mating urge every time they are in close
quarters and they must complete the mating ritual soon after they are alerted to their mate’s identity.”
“What about half blood veelas?”
“The only thing I really know is that they either have the blood or they don’t. There’s no degrees
of being a veela, but if only one of their parents is a veela, they won’t necessarily be a veela themselves,
but they can still carry the gene for it. Other than that…” Ginny shrugged her shoulders helplessly.
“We have recently found out that Mr. Malfoy is a veela.” Albus waved at Draco. He paused for
(if she hadn’t know better) dramatic effect. “He also seems to have found his mate.”
Ginny stared at Draco as the room fell silent, seconds ticking away. He was still as a statue
was the first thing she noticed. The second was the almost hungry look in his eyes, and third…it was directed at her.
Understanding was swiftly forthcoming and her jaw dropped.
“No!”
“Now Virginia, it really isn’t…”
“No, bloody way!”
“Miss Weasley!” Snape’s voice was sharp.
“That is absolutely not possible, and did I mention NO?”
Draco moved toward her. “Ginny.”
She held up a hand and glared at him. “Don’t you dare move, so help me!”
“Ginny, just listen…”
“Bugger off Ferret!” She made sure he was put before whirling around and
shoving her way past the professors and ran out the door.
It was most definitely the wrong thing to do, because every animal instinct
leapt to life and he only hesitated a second before bolting after her.
So she wanted to run did she? Well then, the hunt was on.

Well, there you have, it. I’ve been busy with last minute papers before finals, but I only have two weeks left now though, so hopefully further chapters will be quickly forthcoming.
I plan on redoing the first few chapters to make them longer and more detailed, but new chapters will come first.
I just redid the first chapter which is now longer and has more pertinent information. I would suggest you read it, or you might end up confused at some point in the story.
Thanks alot!
Thanks for all the great reviews. If you have any input or suggestions, review away!
Also, if you don’t like the pairing, don’t complain to me. There’s plenty of Harry/Draco or Draco/Hermione out there. If you don’t like it, don’t read it.
I can’t think of anything else to say, but stay tuned for the next chapter! =)
